Kozue had been resting. Or, at least, she hadn’t been making any serious effort to get up. Domino’s suplex had knocked the sense clean out of her, and it was made especially effective thanks to the fact that she had little sense left. This match had taken so much out of her that she was barely even aware of being rolled over.

”1…!”

But that woke her up. She tried to squirm in Domino’s hold, but she couldn’t muster enough energy to kick out. He was too heavy, she was too winded.

”2…!”

Desperate, Kozue started to reach out for the ropes, stretching out as far as she could. But they were too far, just a few inches out of her reach, and she couldn’t...quite...get...them...

Getting a moment to just lie down, albeit over an increasingly squirmy, disconcerted mattress, is a great reprieve from trying to keep ahold of this little dynamo. When the first count sounds off, he pulls on her thigh a little tighter, drawing the leg in closer against his ribs. He knew she'd struggle. She's been persistent about that. She didn't let him down.

To his alarm, she couldn't get free. Was that finally it? The last nail in the coffin? Too many drops, too much compounding damage? His head turns quickly to look back at her face, partly to try to gauge her condition, and partly out of concern that maybe she'd landed wrong. No, she's cognizant. They're good.

The second count sounds off. Those nearby ropes seem to be this pinfall's doom, as he immediately realizes he should've just dragged her a little further away. That compounding dread comes to an abrupt half when he spots her arm, fully outstretched, fingers clawing, and all for naught.

Oh crap. She's pinned!

The referee's hand drops again. "3!" She lifts to her knees and waves a hand, signalling the bell. *DING* *DING* *DING*

Equal parts relieved and exhausted, the teen releases her leg and rolls over to lie on his back beside her, labored breaths heaving his chest and abdomen dramatically. His left hand runs over his face, drawing his sweat-slickened hair back from his eyes while the right fist lifts into the air in tired victory. "Hah.. hahah.. dang, girl.."

And that was it. The hand came down, the bell rang, and Kozue had lost another match.

You’d be hard pressed to tell that just based on the way she reacted, though. She was laying there, on her back, a wide smile on her face and a laugh coming from her lips. She looked like she’d won.

In a way, she had. Kozue had long since decided that she didn’t care much about winning titles or moving up in the rankings - frankly, the title scene was such bullshit that she wasn’t sure she even wanted to be in it. She’d had her shot. She’d lost. She was happy with that, and not asking much more out of life.

For now, it was enough to have good matches. Domino had given her that. Thus, she was satisfied.

”Nice one.” She reached up and bumped fists with him, then let her arm flop down. Kozue closed her eyes and laid back on the canvas, like it was her own personal bed. ”Gotta do that again, sometime.”

The fist starts to lower, only to be dapped! His head turns to look over at the ninja-girl, his laughter more subdued now. The arm flops aside, lightly swatting the girl's midsection. "Yeah... nice to have.. a match that's.. just.. y'know.. back to the roots." He finally pushes himself to sit up, finally taking a moment to really absorb the wear and tear on his body. No, this match didn't end with a finisher. Neither gave the other enough of an opening to pull it off. It was more of a tooth-and-nail situation between them. He's just glad it didn't get to the point of risking injury. "If that.. makes sense," he concludes to her.

The teen tucks his legs beneath himself, and raises to his full height again. The referee girl takes his left arm to raise, but his eyes are on Ninjette. His right hand turns out to her, offering to tug her to her feet. He's exhausted, but fortunately, she weighs, like, nothing.

Winner by Pinfall: Domino
