"Well, like, I dunno. There's lots of rules in Japan, and I guess I only really get by because I'm blonde and hot. I imagine I piss a lot of people off, though. I know how to act just well enough to not get arrested when I go out, and the people that stuck around with me are the kind that love me for my bullshit. I really don't try hard to be Japanese. But I speak it pretty damn well for a gringo!"

Like, people like us, we bust our asses all the time, and we only get a few minutes every once in a while to get to show off, so don't waste it."

Taylor paused while a tremendous yawn overtook her. "Jeez, sorry. I'm pretty beat. I did sprints today, throws, some strength stuff. Sprints, man. Doesn't matter how good of shape you're in, you can always kill yourself with those. Anyway, thanks for the talk, I'm probably gonna just fall asleep right here on the couch."

"Okay, Princess, that sounds like a good plan." Taylor didn't have the energy to try to zing Ace with some clever play on her name. But then, "Ace" didn't really give her much to work with. That clever bitch.

"You too, see ya."

She ended the call and turned her phone sideways to start typing out a text to Akashi.

Vd is crazy I'm glad you kicked her ass

She hit send, and waited. Things were admittedly a little awkward between them since Akashi starter her "get even with Americans" thing. It was a little goofy, though Taylor figured that Akashi was trying to relight her own fire as much as Japan's, and that wasn't a bad thing. She wanted to see the old Akashi back, but it was just a little uncool that she was trying to do it at the expense of Taylor's home country.
