Speaking of which, the idea of a "C4 Match" is appealing to me. Basically, There are barbed wire wrapped C4 2x4s scattered about the ring and the outside. Have fun with them.

Would the audience be behind a blast shield or just watch it from the camera?

I'm not sure what you think would happen, but I have a better idea.

The ring is actually a giant blender, and when the bell rings at the start of the match it liquifies everyone inside. I think it'll be pretty popular.

Well, it wouldn't be huge amounts of C4. Mick Foley and Terry Funk wouldn't be alive today if that had been the case.

It's just small, small pieces that still cause considerable amounts of pain upon exploding.
