Title Match: Angel vs. Rainbow Mika!

Angel pushed down harder against Mika, her body rubbing against the blonde's as she made sure the woman was stuck under her, her shoulders squarely touching the mat. She didn't want anything to ruin this. This was it. This was going to be her big moment of victory.

The referee continued her count, slapping the mat a second time, yelling out the next count. "Two...!"

As the countdown reached two, the tension increased. Surely, someone as tough and tenacious as the Rainbow Warrior would kick out, right? Mika was a stubborn, intense fighter who had taken on the likes of Dixie Clements and Sandy Starlight, and won. Surely, she could still win this?

Mika, however, seemed done as Angel kept her covered. The blonde remained unconscious and unmoving under Angel as the countdown continued...

Angel could feel her heart beating faster, pounding against her chest like a jackhammer as the count neared it's conclusion. It was so close, so very very close. She only had to hold out for a few seconds more...

"THREE!" the referee yelled, slapping the mat for the final time then leaping back to her feet. She quickly signaled an official at ringside, who began to ring the bell, signifying the end of the match. The crowd went absolutely wild, their screams and cheers and shouting reaching the loudest they had reached all night. Angel had won! After a year of the title being vacant, there was finally a new champion in the company!

Angel herself jerked upwards at the sound of the bell, resting on her knees, her face completely expressionless. She had done it. She had won. Her long-time dream had finally, finally came true. She was the champion. Everything she had wanted was suddenly her's. The Latina honestly didn't know how to react.

For a brief moment, anyway. After the initial realization sank in, Angel suddenly leaped up to her feet, jumping into the air and thrusting both her fists upwards, screaming out in pure ecstasy, pure delight at her hard-fought victory. "YEAH!!!!"

Angel's triumph was met with a chorus of raw noise-- screams of elation from her fans, and howls of outrage and disbelief from Mika's fans. In the midst of it all, though, Mika remained lying motionlessly on her back, knocked out cold by Angel's successive kicks. For the first time in many of her matches, the Rainbow Warrior looked both broken and beaten, thoroughly defeated by her foe.

The ref girl quickly dropped down at tapped at Mika's cheek to wake her up. When the Rainbow Warrior failed to respond, though, a few paramedics quickly rushed into the ring to check up on her, dabbing at her bleeding forehead with gauze and looking over the blonde to see how badly she was hurt...

The officials and workers at ringside were quick to spring into action as the match ended. One of them had already retrieved the title belt during the match and brought it down, and she was quick to climb into the ring as Angel jumped around, shouting and cheering in celebration. Even as exhausted as she was, the absolute thrill of finally winning, of finally being named the Friction World Champion was enough to keep her standing and celebrating. The official came up behind Angel, tapping her on her shoulder to get her attention. When the Latina turned to face her, and saw the belt in the woman's hands, she quickly snatched it from her, dismissing any formalities there might have been in handing over the title. She stared at it for a moment, then sank down to her knees as the realization of what had just happened fully sank in.

She had won. She was the champion. No one could say she wasn't worthy anymore. No one could say she didn't deserve it. She had proved all the naysayers wrong and won a hard-fought match to finally get what she rightfully deserved.

Angel closed her eyes, hugging the title tight against her chest. For the first time in her life, the proud Latina was completely speechless. She wasn't sure what to say, or do, or anything. All she knew was that the title was finally her's, her's and no one else's.

She rested there a moment longer, then rose back up to her feet, thrusting the title proudly into the air with both of her hands. She held it high over her head, stepping proudly around the ring, basking in the cheers and adoration of her fans (and the boos and jeers of Mika's own fans). At the same time, the medics that were checking on Mika yelled at the officials, yelling at them to get someone to the ring with a stretcher. Mika was completely done, and they needed to get her backstage to get better care to her.

Angel didn't seem to notice though. Mika was the absolute furthest thing on her mind at the moment. She grinned widely, parading around the ring for a few moments more, then went to climb out, hugging her new title tightly as she headed up the ramp towards the backstage. She wanted to get some rest, then go celebrate her win and her new title!
