An Idol's Debut

Thomas Drake was incredibly pleased with himself. He was getting fixed up, poised to make a big announcement that he hoped would make just as big a splash as when he first formed Eclipse. Except, of course, there was no press tonight. That would come in due time, but luckily for him that would all be handled, and in a far better way than before. "If only everything could go so smoothly," he thought.

"Alright Mr. Drake, you're on in five, four..."

Drake tuned out the cameraman's voice. All he needed to see was the red power button flash on. And then it did.

"Good evening!" he said, starting off with a bit of enthusiasm, "I'm sure everyone is having a good time watching the show, and why wouldn't you? The display of talent here at AFW is marvelous." He paused for a moment. "And tonight, Starlight Productions is glad to make another addition to the illustrious pool of talent here." He cleared his throat. "I'm sure that you're asking yourselves, 'why does the debut of a new girl require an entire promotion like this?' Well, it's because this girl is special, and she deserves every last bit of recognition and attention from everyone here in this league."

The camera panned out a bit more, revealing that Drake was on a stage. Then it zoomed around, showing a packed concert hall full of fans who waved when their faces came up onto the screen. The view cut back to Drake.

"May I introduce, the newest member on the AFW roster!" he said, "You all know her well, she was last year's Top Idol, with bestselling albums across the world. The lights suddenly all came on across the stage, showing Miki standing, head down, leaning slightly to the side. It was something she never had to put effort into after all.

As the song wound down, Miki took the chance to fire up the crowd a little bit more. "Thank you everyone!" she yelled, "And that's right, expect to see me in the ring soon!"

As she got the crowd going even more, Drake stepped off the stage, content that this was certainly going to leave an impression. He wanted Miki's debut to be big. And with this level of showyness, it was bound to get some attention.
