Time to STEP UP!

Alright, so as most of you know (or at least those of you who enter the AFW Promo section when it gets updated) there is a faction war brewing. Currently, there are four factions that are attempting to breath a new aspect into AFW. This will become a war between the good, the bad, the beautiful, and the elite. The four factions and a short primer on what they are is as follows:
White Gale - Face Organization - Currently lead by no one
Horus Heresy - Heel Organization - Currently lead Lute (Cirno)
Imperial Heart - Tweener Organization - Currently lead by Lynette (All Cats Are Gray)
Meister - Tweener - Currently led by Lukretia von Creuzfeldt (Tatyina)
in order of good, bad, beautiful, and elite, of course. Up until recently, each of these factions had a head. Presently, White Gale is without for various reasons. But, what is needed is a new leader. There are MANY great Face wrestlers in the legion of Friction and Kawaii. I don't want my limited view of Friction to limit the White Gale. Please, please, please, if you think you have a Face wrestler who is capable of being a leader and you have the time to devote to leading the faction then please talk to me. If you think you could do it, but not by yourself, consider having a dual leader - you and another person... a close friend, maybe?

These factions are Friction only.

Now, on to other business.

I can hear you saying, "I don't want my character to join something and get orders and have to work for people." I understand your concern, but joining any of the organizations will not net you a bossy superior who will order your character to do laundry. That's not the purpose of this, never has been, never will be. If your character joins you can participate as much or as little as you are interested in.

So now you say, "Yeah right, Tanosh, now it sounds like there is no point at all in having a character join one of the organizations." Again, I understand your concern. In a fight by fight view there is no advantage or disadvantage to joining a faction. However, joining a faction will net you a series of allies. It will also net you enemies, giving your characters a new dynamic to work with when interacting with other factions and non-factions.

"But, if I stay out of it, then I won't net any new enemies." Not necessarily. The heel (and possibly Face faction if you ARE a Heel) faction will likely be more than happy to team up against your character to give them a thorough thrashing. Want to play the sides? That's your prerogative. I highly suggest it. Also, not wanting enemies? Why are you on a website where the sole purpose is to have your characters fight?

"Quit reading my thoughts." No.

"Fine, whatever you want. My characters are mostly loners. They don't need a stinkin' love social." It won't be a love social. You make friends, occasionally someone asks for your help, or someone offers to help you. You could join and go your whole career without being bothered by the faction.

"Okay okay, go conjole someone else, how do I join?" Just contact me or Cirno depending on which organization you want to join. If you want to join White Gale, please contact myself, I'll put your character on a list and prime the new White Gale leader when they come along.

There, now I'll stop using my psychic powers on you.

tl;dr version - PM me or Cirno to join one of the three factions in friction.

Neat. As a newbie, this is the first I've heard of it.

At the moment I have one character with no immediate plans of making another, and I don't necessarily see my char jumping in at all, but it's certainly interesting. The only real difficulty I can see is I'd imagine that juggling to many rp's matches and plot lines could be tricky... message board continuity is a little wonky.

I don't know if you've already been drawn in or if you have something to do with the 'various reasons' behind the face stable vacancy, but I've read some of your writing and I think you'd do a fine job with it. That is if you have a character who's up to it. Hmm.

Maybe Blue is voicing a concern that everyone has and I just don't realize it: I wasn't using my daddy voice in the first post. So no, I wasn't trying to berate or belittle ANYONE here in AFW. For further information on my daddy voice, ask Shankdoken as he and Gray both hear it VERY OFTEN. I also wasn't suggesting any disappointment for noone stepping up, just a need that someone did... and someone has. So now I am pleased. :3

Joining a faction (to alleviate your worries, Blue) will not increase your RP and matches if you do not allow it. In fact, it would be most correct to say that it would increase your RP and match potential but you are still in control of who you interact with. We won't be all, "You must go beat this person up, then schmooze this person, then then then..."

And finally, I am a terrible candidate for Face leader. I'm no Face IRL. I'm not evil or good, I just don't think peace and love can be attained by smiles and honor. :p But yes, we have a new leader for White Gale!

I don't think I implied that you were trying to belittle anyone... also, my concern wasn't that there' be too much rp for one person because obviously you're in control of your own keyboard. It's that if you have a group of 10 people interacting with a few other groups of 10 people with interrelated story lines, I can see a point where it could become difficult to sort out. Of course you could certainly avoid that just by being careful with how you lay out rp stuff.

Anyway if experience is any indication, your daddy voice would just make me 1. be sassy 2. play loud music in my room and 3. sneak out and lie about where I've been. That also gets a little tricky to sort out after a while.

Hey I would be up to having one of my girls join the White Gale faction, just tell what I need to do and I will join ^.^

Anyway, nice work with the factions, extra RP potential is always good. Hope it won't take too much admin work to determine who's aligned with who. But if I can ask a massive newbie question: what's with the Warhammer 40k references?

There were some? I couldn't tell. Then again the last time I played that game was, uhm, 12 years ago or so and just a few times cause I lacked money.
