Wrestling Style: Defensive Technician

Strategy: Dirk approaches his matches like most technical wrestlers would, slowly and carefully. Methodically grappling with his opponent until a weakness or a mistake presents itself. And on some occasions, making that weakness himself by way of limb targeting. And when that opportunity arrives, he'll wear down and press on that body part until he thinks his opponent is ready to be put away. This is easier said than done, of course. Especially if he's facing someone much taller and heaver. At that point, Dirk will employ a more hit-and-run style to his wrestling. He also has a background in muay thai so he will occasionally throw some stiff kicks, elbows and some clinching if the situation calls for it.

Yep. Yep. Yep! He's got one of these too! But, he does it a bit differently. Instead of the usual kick and stun combo, Dirk usually does this move to counter a kick attempt. If his opponent attempts to kick him and he manages to catch their leg, he'll smash their leg with his elbow and then, while they're reeling...BAM!! (Glass shattering and beers not included)

Dirk heads into the nearest corner and waits for his groggy opponent to get to their knees. Once the opportunity presents itself, Dirk will charge in
for a jumping knee strike aimed at his opponent's face!

With his opponent groggy in the corner, Dirk runs to the adjacent corner and then runs full sprint into the corner where his opponent is laying against and slams one of his knees into the face of his opponent....

2nd Part: After the knee lands successfully and standing over his opponent, Dirk will maneuver his knees firmly onto their chest, grabs them by their head and then, leans back pulling his opponent with all of his body weight. Upon landing back first on the ring mat, he'll push his legs up with all his strength, shoving his opponent into the air to land on their backs a small distance behind him for a Monkey Flip! (Usually does this to set up for the diving headbutt)

Excelsior Cranium Crusher
Probably his most famous move in the indies despite only using it sparingly because of the risk factor. Dirk smacks his head in succession to draw the support from the crowd and points to the nearest corner then, he makes his way up to the top rope. He slowly stands on top of the highest turnbuckle, places his hands together as if to pray for a couple seconds before bellowing the phrase "FOR....EXCELSIOR!!" in a comedically deep voice that most wouldn't think he would able to achieve before outstretching his arms and leaping off the top rope hoping he lands on his opponent and not the canvas below.

Bully Killer/Bully Subduer
Usually used in a last ditch effort. Dirk leaps on the back of his opponent and quickly attempts to wrap his arms around his opponent's neck in an attempt to put them to sleep or at least have them tap out.

With the crowd firmly on his side and his opponent laying on their face, Dirk decides that's time to put this match bed with an Ankle lock!
He sometimes will drop to the mat and turn it into an Achilles Lock.

His go to match ender. With his opponent groggy or having left themselves open after a failed move of their own, Dirk will quickly shoot toward them, grab their arm, hammerlock it, turn them around, tucks their head underneath his arm pit, places his foot behind his opponent's adjacent leg, leans forward as far as he can before yanking back as hard as he can while falling backward to spike his opponent on their face to seal the deal!

Physical Appearance: Derek has a somewhat tall somewhat scrawny build with little muscle definition on his arms and torso. He's not an athletic freak of nature, but he's leaned up and has a little bit of a six pack peeking through. He has small brown eyes, 90's era curtain style forehead revealing brown hair and his nose is slightly moved rightward and covered by a nasal strip thanks to a rival at his home promotion. When Dirk is in the ring, he usual wears dark pink male swimming trunk style shorts that stop at his knees, a pair of brown wrestling boots tied with white laces, two white knee pads, two elbow pads and two black wrist bands (on occasion he'll swap the wrist bands for a pair of fist wrapping tape wrapped around his knuckles) and have two long white rectangles on both sides that have the word "LEWSER" written vertically in green letters. (On occasion he'll switch his shorts to either green, white or blue) He also will wear a light blue mouthguard over his upper row of teeth. On his way to the ring, he'll be wearing a white polo shirt with the occasional red tie and a pair of black prescription glasses. Out of the ring, he's usually wearing khaki pants or jeans, black tennis shoes and a t-shirt featuring a favorite wrestler of his, a random videogame t-shirt or a blank polo shirt.

Personality: Derek prefers to live a straight and narrow kind of lifestyle. Only doing what he feels he needs to and not getting too involved in the business of others if he thinks its going to bring him trouble. But, he will make some exceptions every now and again. Unfortunately for him, this way of living has made him a bit of an introvert. Rarely venturing out of his comfort zone. When alone, he tends to keep to himself and divulge in some handheld gaming, cell phone internet browsing or catching up on some book reading. He also has a tendency to be a little indecisive, shy and nervous in his actions due to being bullied and barely having friends throughout his school years. But, when spoken to, Derek will always speak with manners and politeness in his voice. Though, he speaks like a respectable member of society, he can be a little snarky in his dialogue every now and then, but only if he's cocky enough or when he's being spoken down to. A trait he picked up from the various promos of his favorite wrestlers he idolized growing up. Especially, a certain Second City Saint that he is a big fan of.
When it comes to interactions with the opposite sex, it is similar to his normal way of interacting. Albeit with some minor nervousness. But, when it comes to girls who compliment and attempt to flirt with him, he can become quite cautious and maybe a little cynical. Not believing it to be genuine or believing it as an attempt to get something out of him. This is due to a certain incident in his middle school days. However, if a girl find interest in Derek, he isn't impossible to woo. If a girl is willing to, and with enough poking and prodding, he will eventually lower his guard to reveal a sensitive and kind soul who just doesn't want to be hurt and lied to again.
When it comes time to step in the ring, Derek's quiet personality will do a complete 180 and he will become a serious competitor who seeks to prove himself in the ring. Depending on how his opponent treats him before or during the match, he may openly mock or mirror his opponent's own smack talk when he feels that he has the upper hand. On rare occasions, Dirk may receive a surge of fighting spirit in the middle of his match when the chips are down or when his adrenaline has reached its peak. Dirk is also a man who believes in good sportsmanship so he will almost always shake hands before and after a match. The only time he won't is when he's wrestling someone he absolutely despises.

Derek Lewison, born in Philadelphia, grew up in a middle-class family with a caring mother, a father who worked in a steel plant, and two siblings. Despite his kindness and intelligence, Derek faced constant bullying in school, leading to a transformation from a friendly, outgoing student to an introverted and quiet individual. His solace became video games and computers.

During a weekend at his grandfather's, Derek discovered the world of professional wrestling, finding inspiration in the larger-than-life characters and intense competition. Wrestling became his refuge, helping him cope with the challenges of school life.

After training at the RCW Dojo, Derek, now known as "Dirk Lewser," entered the world of professional wrestling. Despite a tumultuous past, his optimism, love for wrestling, and nerdy character have made him something of a rising star on the independent circuit, even catching the attention of AFW after an impressive match at a Japanese independent show against fellow rising star, Ren Fukuyama. Derek's journey continues as he navigates the challenges of the wrestling world, far from home.
