Birbie Becky vs Nagana Kōshukei- Faster then a Vice Grip?

It had been awhile since Nagana had been called on for anything at the SRW. She had a few matches, and did pretty well in them, but after a few months Nagana had begun to do her own thing. Naga’s really didn’t need too much to survive besides food and shelter, and after getting the latter, the former wasn’t too tough for someone like Nagana. The giant serpent began to spend more and more time outside the city of Tsubar in her home outside the gates. The people in the city still weren’t all that comfortable with reptiles, much less snake folk. It was simply easier to exist in the outer walls where people there cared less about what you looked like and more about if you can handle yourself or not. Everyone minded their own business, which was absolutely fine for the solitary snake woman.

So it was a bit of a surprise to come back to her home one day and find a box at the door. She didn’t make any friends since coming to Gaia, at least nobody she considered a friend and after leaving the city she had yet to receive even a single piece of mail. Normally she would have just thrown it away, but she noticed the SRW seal on the top. Fighting in the SRW wasn’t her only job anymore…but the snake woman figured she had better open it. At the very least, she could use the box for something in the future.

WIth just a swipe, the box was wide open and revealing itself to be…well, a simple invitation to participate. Invitation was probably too nice of a word, because the letter was written by a Warden’s Acolyte, which made it something similar to a summon. Sure, Nagana could refuse, but she did join the SRW to fight strong opponents. And if she didn’t show up, something told her that this package would just be the beginning. Nagana had met the Bakeneko in charge of the SRW, and she figured that cat was the type to keep going until she got what she wanted.

The invitation was for a simple match. The opponent was someone Nagana had never heard of, and figured this may have been a member of the latest batch of recruits the SRW managed to round up. After being outside of the city for so long, it was hard to remember just what exactly happened when in the SRW.

So, with an annoyed flick of her forked tongue, Nagana decided she would have to clear her schedule tomorrow in order to get ready for the fight.

This was finally the day of the fight~ Eros was so excited to see that Nagana had responded to her package! Her staff had already informed the Bakeneko that the Serpent Striker was waiting in the changing room, putting on the last of her gear. Everything was going smoothly as Eros turned on a camera feed to find the bird waiting for the fight to begin. The bird…Becky, if she recalled correctly, was a snake’s natural choice in prey. A part of Eros wondered just how she would react when being pitted against a sixteen foot long Naga, but decided this would be good research as to how much she could expect from Becky. Nagana was something of a favorite to those that liked heels, despite the fact she was simply competitive. Eros didn’t prescribe to the idea of judging someone based on their species, and Nagana was a very useful fighter in her roster. Which was why she would allow Nagana to reside where she wishes…so long as the contract between her and SRW was honored~

“Ah~ Seems it's time to get things underway. Inform Becky that she will be going out first rather than Nagana. It’s not a big deal, but we will test her improv skills when she has no opponent in the ring.”

One of the staff members nodded and left just as the music began to start. Eros flicked her microphone on.

“Greeting everyone to yet another glorious match here in the SRW! May we praise our great Overseer for his protection and love for his people. For without it, we would never be able to give you all such wonderful battles to enjoy~”

The crowd seemed to cheer in agreement, with Eros giving an approving nod before continuing forward.

“Now then, the first fighter we are going to introduce is a bit…interesting. She asked us not to give away her height, but I can tell you she is only around three feet tall! A bit small, but I promise our cameras will catch every second of her in action for you all to see! With that being said, please welcome our very own little Bullet with wings, Birbie Becky~”

THe audience and crowd waited as the fighters' music began to play from the speakers on both sides of the entrance. It didn’t appear that anyone was coming, but when the song hit its climax, something began to fly through the air. Upon hindsight, it seemed obvious that a bird would descend from the air rather than walk down a ramp. And to make up for the slight delay in entering, Becky more than made up for it with a flashy flight show. Displaying the absolute control she had over her body as she moved at various speeds. Her own finale to her show came when it looked like she was going to dive bomb the ring, only to elegantly float up and perch safely onto the corner post of the arena. And with that she…spoke?

Truthfully, hardly anyone even understood a fraction of what she said, but they all cheered for her anyways. It was an impressive flight show, especially before a match. It must have taken quite a bit of energy and endurance to pull off, and some were wondering if that might affect her going into the fight. But Becky knew what she was doing, and if she wanted to give the audience a show then she was free to do so. At least it proved she was more than meets the eye.

Eros simply shrugged to herself. If Becky can handle it and still give a good fight, that was all that mattered. At that moment, one of her staff informed her that Nagana was ready, and a smirk slipped across her face. Once the applause started to die down a bit, the Bakeneko moved on with the next fighter.

“And Becky’s opponent for the night might just give her a shock! Returning from a bit of an absence is one of SRW’s first official fighters! With a body length of at least 16 feet and weighing…well, a lady never tells~ Please welcome back our Serpent Striker, Nagana~”

A new set of music would play over the speakers, this one a bit more combative in nature. When the lights for the ramp turned on, an imposing figure was already waiting at the very top. A large, strong looking snake woman with her lower body coiled numerous times beneath her. Her yolk yellow eyes were piercing as she peered over at the ring, so much so that Becky could actually feel when the snake was looking at her. Nagana’s tongue slipped out to taste the air before slithering down the ramp. She was so long that by the time she reached the ring, her tail was still at the halfway mark on the ramp.

Slithering into the ring only made it clear just how big Nagana was in comparison to Becky…and it looked rather unfair. The crowds started to jeer Nagana, who ignored them and looked over Becky, who was still perched on the corner post. Unlike Eros, who’s eyes turned predatory every time she looked at Becky, Nagana just stared at the bird before crossing her arms beneath her chest.

“Well, you’re a lot smaller than I expected.” Was all the snake woman said in a monotone voice. Her lower body began to coil beneath her, giving the snake woman an extra bit of height she really didn’t need over Becky. Even from across the arena, Becky still had to look up a bit to meet those reptilian eyes. “Are you sure this is a good idea, kid?”

Everyone in the audience was jeering and booing the snake. No one really thought this was a fair fight, and it bordered on cruel. After all, bigger snakes regularly made snacks out of small birds thanks to their ability to strike quicker than the eye. Becky was fast, certainly. But the thought of someone so small fighting an actual snake was not a popular one in the crowd. Almost every species in Gaia had an instinctual fear of vipers and snakes, making it easy to look at Nagana as a villain. No one noticed or heard that the snake woman asked Becky her opinion on the matter. But they all heard Becky’s triumphant response to Nagana question! They heard it…but did not understand it.

To almost everyone, Becky’s rapid fire word sounded like a squeaky broken record. Almost too high in pitch to hear completely and spoken too quickly to understand. But, they saw the tiny bird pointing an accusing finger in the snake's face, which got the point across. They cheered her on to stand up to the snake bully, while calling Nagana a coward for taking such an unfair fight.

Nagana herself struggled to understand Becky herself, and upon having a finger in her face Nagana pulled back just a bit. Her tongue flicked out of her mouth, getting a taste of Becky’s scent out of habit before scratching her temple. She replayed Becky’s ramble over and over in her head, trying to decipher it.

Was the best Nagana could come up with…and she was certain that was dead wrong. But before Nagana could ask for clarification, the bell suddenly rang! The snake woman looked over her shoulder, checking to see if the early bell was a mistake.

“You heard her folks~ Becky is ready and willing to start this bout! Lets see what she’s got!”

WIth the echoes of the bell dying beneath the roar of the crowd, Nagana returned her attention to Becky. The tiny bird person got ready in a combat stance that made it seem like she was trying to intimidate the huge snake woman. Nagana didn’t uncross her arms, simply staring at Becky as she tried to process what to do. Normally, Nagana would have opened with a spear attack. She could strike out quicker than the eye could track using such a maneuver…but birds had weaker bones than most species. Hitting Becky with that much force could be lethal. Snakes might eat birds, but Nagana had no interest in killing anyone tonight.

The Snake’s tongue flicked again as Becky seemed to wait. By the time the bird might have decided to make a move, Nagana suddenly darted to the left! Before Becky could even turn her head, Nagana was already to her right! She was coiling around the bird, looking to ensnare her with her powerful lower body in a tight vice-like grip! Nagana could control the amount of pressure she put an opponent through perfectly! This way, she could force the bird to submit without seriously breaking her apart.

“You’re out of your league, Birdy!”

In the blink of an eye, Nagana was coiled around the spot Becky was just standing in! Faster than anyone would expect, the snake’s lower body was coiled over three times, more than enough to crush someone as small as the tiny Avian! What looked to be an early match ending move was quickly disrupted as Birdie quickly blasted out of the hold with blinding speed! Nagana might have enveloped the bird, but she did not yet tense up her coils to constrict her. There was some force, but not nearly enough to keep Becky’s bullet-like force contained as she shot up in the air and landed on Nagana’s lower body, commenting on her speed. The snake’s sharp eyes glared at Birdy over Nagana’s powerful shoulders, her lower body suddenly reacting like a whip as it looked to swipe the bird away with a vicious lash!

“Oh dear! It looks like Bribie may have a bit too much on her plate with this one! She’ll have to be quick on her feet, or else one wrong move will send her to the heavy care unit!”

Eros acted concerned, but knew well enough that Becky was more than capable of dodging certain attacks. She just needed the proper motivation~ WHich was why Eros had her up against her natural enemy. What more motivation could a spunky bird have then to try and topple their most lethal predator?

Besides a cat, of course~
