Strategy: Fearless, daring, and playful with the weak ones. Using her well-developed swiftness to bypass her opponent’s strikes, Carla’s goal is to exhaust and overwhelm with consecutive throws. She loves to take advantage by invading her opponent’s space and breaking them where they’re comfortable. Only when her opponent is softened enough does she typically move on to the ground game, but by then the outcome has already been decided. Manipulating her opponent’s uniform is a tactic she’s become especially fond of by pulling on their sleeves and yanking on their collars to force them to move how she wants. Her aggressive, full-frontal style tends to take others by surprise. Due to her relatively unimposing physique and stature, many fall into the trap by assuming she's a more conservative player than she really is.

Redentor - Mounted on her opponent’s back while facing their legs, Carla flips her opponent onto the ground and locks in a triangular arm lock that also catches their far arm and leaves them helpless. From there, she can either bend the far arm backward or stretch their captured arm to force a submission.

Personality: There’s nothing sweeter than being a prodigy. Life is easy and everything falls into place for you. Carla believes she’s a girl destined for greatness. Consistently only two steps from glory, it would be quicker if the world would just fall to their knees and worship her already. Surviving her father’s training from Hell has given her a natural resistance to most adversity, to the point she laughs in the face of what others find difficult. She isn’t sure how she would feel to be met with a genuine challenge, though she suspects it would at least be annoying to deal with.

Her arrogance subsides in her daily life, though only slightly. Carla’s interpersonal skills might as well be nonexistent. For her, Might makes right. Hence, she's the self-appointed authority on everything, even if there's no reason or logic to be found in her warped understanding of her place relative to the center of the universe. The only people that can hold her attention for long are the ones that put up the best fight.

The name Luis Amador Quintanilha had conquered them all. Opponents, critics, gossip, experience, age, even illness. From his pathetic beginnings as nothing and nobody, Luis retired from a long and decorated career as one of the most famous fighters of Latin America and an early pioneer in mixed martial arts. His undefeated record with over 300 fights sealed his fate to be a living legend in his hometown of Rio de Janeiro. International fame, wealth beyond his dreams, and a place in history were all his. But at that time, the only thing that concerned him was, in the end, the only thing that truly mattered: legacy.

Carla was his hope for the future of Judo in Brazil. He sought to codify in his only daughter a version mimicking his legendary style, one that could not only stand up to the rivaling tide of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and the ever-developing world of martial arts. She became his very purpose. The weight of expectations would have crumbled any other girl. His daughter was anything but.

Groomed for excellence from an early age, Carla took to her father’s teachings almost as a mirror image of his earliest days. Learning as soon as she could walk on both feet and grasp with both hands, she developed a natural affinity for judo that the motions became instinctual. The speed and comfort with which she took to each lesson were blinding, surpassing even her father’s expectations over the years. Every technique, every dirty trick, she absorbed without fail. Not even when she should have.

When she finally entered regional competitions, it was immediately clear to Luis how outclassed the rest of the country’s youth were when she returned home with award after award. And it became clear to Carla that she was in a class of her own. Soundly defeating them all, again and again. Each victory, no matter how minor, only reassured her sense of superiority. Or rather, it showed how incompetent everyone else really was.

She quickly climbed the national rankings where she won the CBJ championship three times in the lightweight division. The notoriety they received grew alongside her faith in her capabilities, ever confident in proving herself to anyone and everything.

Worse, she carried her attitude outside of the gym. Every wannabe street-tough and the errant challenger would find themselves humiliated. When that stopped satisfying her, she went straight to the source and broke the students of neighboring gyms. One by one, as if to confirm what she already knew. It was for that same reason that her father indulged her troublemaking.

Deciding she needed bigger prey and the proper competition before hitting the international rankings, her father arranged a venture for Carla to the Land of the Rising Sun. There she could spread her wings and embrace the roots of Judo. The times may have changed, but the method was the same. To be the best, she had to beat the best. Only a month after her arrival, it just so happened that AFW reopened a venue that was just her speed.
