Kyo Akamatsu vs. Testament - Judgment Day
-VS-
Match Type: Standard
Victory Conditions: Pinfall, Submission, or KO
***
Tonight, Tension earned its name, because there was plenty of anxiety in the air. The crowd was waiting, eager to see what was about to happen as they reached the halfway point of the show. The word was that Kyo Akamatsu, one of the show’s longest running talents, was going to be in a match against someone special - a returning face.
Nobody knew who it was, or why they were coming back now of all times. But surprises were always welcomed in the AFW, and the idea of seeing a familiar face back in action was welcomed.
Tonight, they wouldn’t be disappointed.
The lights immediately dropped, as a haunting tune began playing over the speakers, one that no one had ever heard before in the arena. A dim glow came up down the ramp, lighting the way down the metal path, along with a faint fog that seemed to rise out of nowhere. A silhouette appeared from the curtain and began to make its way down to the ring. A large shadow, one that you might’ve thought to be a man’s, until she noticed the hips, and the breasts, and the hair.
It was a woman. A big woman. At first, as she made her way into the ring, whispers spread, people thinking that maybe it was Rebecca Tomko debuting some new gimmick. Those thoughts were dispelled as soon as the lights came back on, and the imposing figure revealed herself.
A muscular, powerful figure stood in the middle of the ring. A fiery cross was emblazoned on her chest, and silver hair streamed down her back, long and glimmering. She stood there, tall and proud, looking as if the world around her didn’t exist. She didn’t seem to notice the crowd’s chants, didn’t pay any heed to the referee, didn’t spare so much as a glance towards the cameras. All she did was look up the ramp, dead-eyed and unmoving.
Her name was Testament, and she’d waited a long time for this day.

Re: Kyo Akamatsu vs. Testament - Judgment Day
The crowd fell silent as Testament waited for her opponent. The way the woman was staring, dead-eyed and unmoving, at the other ramp collectively unnerved them. Although none of them recognized this supposedly returned wrestler, there was something about Testament that made them quiet down a little. Maybe it was her size, or maybe it was just the silent intensity with which this silver-haired titan bore herself. That she was going to be a rough time for whoever she was fighting, was without question.
At that moment, suddenly,"Kanjite Knight" from the Mazinger Z soundtrack blared onto the speakers, sounding like an explosion in the midst of this silence. The crowd burst into cheers, their apprehension forgotten, as Kyo Akamatsu strode into the arena. The young man strode in, bare chested as usual, showing off his tattoos and his fit frame for the audience (and his many fangirls) to see. For a change, he was smiling this time, instead of walking in with his usual solemn expression. It was a faint smile, mind you, but it was there all the same. Maybe, just maybe, he was beginning to appreciate fame and the recognition that came with it.
As she strode down the ramp, Kyo's eyes fixed on the monolithic form of Testament staring down at him, and his smile disappeared. Walking to the arena's edge, he wasted no time in rolling into the ring and standing to meet Testament. He was quick to discover just how tall and how large she was, and echoes of his brutalization at Rebecca Tomoko's hands flashed into memory. He felt his forearm quiver a little in apprehension-- a movement he killed almost immediately, never letting his gaze drift from Testment's.
"So, you're my opponent," he said. He smiled a little and offered a hand. "Akamatsu Kyo, of the Akamatsu Clan. And you are?"

Re: Kyo Akamatsu vs. Testament - Judgment Day
Every woman - every straight woman, anyway - was completely enamored with Kyo the moment he came from behind the curtains. What wasn’t to like? Hot. Shirtless. A good smile. He’d been in Tension for years, and was one of the most recognizable faces with one of the most recognizable names. The Samurai of the AFW. The quintessential Japanese wrestler.
Every woman looked at him with wanting eyes…except for the one in the middle of the ring. She watched him walk, stared at him as he came into the ring, and never flinched. Not a single movement. She honestly didn’t even seem to be looking at him like he was another person. It was the sort of look you’d reserve for some object that had gotten in your way, an obstacle to be removed.
It was only when he extended his hand for a shake that she finally moved, glancing down to look at the gesture. She canted her head to the side, contemplating for an awkward moment. When that moment passed, though, she did reach out and take his hand, shaking back with a surprisingly soft grip.
And then she spoke.
”Testament.” Her voice was deep and low monotone, barely a whisper, so low that Kyo wouldn’t have heard it over the din if he’d been a foot farther away. ”And I know exactly who you are, Kyo.”
Testament let go of the shake with one hand, grabbed him by the wrist with the other, then suddenly pulled away from Kyo, stretching both their limbs out to the max. She then jerked forward and pulled him towards her in the same motion, while she swung her other arm towards his head, looking to nail him with a powerful short-arm clothesline.

Re: Kyo Akamatsu vs. Testament - Judgment Day
Up close, there was definitely something unnerving about Testament. It wasn't just her size: Kyo had fought big girl before (again, Rebecca Tomoko came to mind). No, it was the coldness of her expression, the wah she was looking down at him as though his presence in the ring was merely incidental. There was something up with this woman, and Kyo didn't like it.
And then she mentioned that she knew who he was. It wasn't that fact alone that alarmed him, but the contemptuous tone with which she had said it.
The moment Testament's grip on his hand tightened, alarm bells rang in Kyo's mind. The moment Testament launched her clothesline, Kyo ducked, evading the blow and using the big girl's momentum against her as he spun in behind her. With one arm trapped, her wrapped his other around her silver clad waist, took a deep breath and arched back to nail her in a quick and effective back body drop...unless his bigger opponent interrupted him somehow, that was...

Re: Kyo Akamatsu vs. Testament - Judgment Day
And just like that, the match was on.
The referee had to leap away as Testament spurred into action, nearly caught up along with Kyo in the fury of movement. By the time she’d called the bell, Kyo was already moving in fine form, swiftly maneuvering around the ring. His skill was apparent in an instant as he expertly moved about and pulled Testament in, going for a back body drop.
A slick move, and it would have worked on most women. Not this one, though.
As Kyo started to arch his back and prepared to lift her up, Testament hunkered down, planting her feet firmly on the floor and using her weight to thwart his efforts. At the same time, she raised her arm and brought it down hard onto his back, driving the point of her elbow hard into his spine.

Re: Kyo Akamatsu vs. Testament - Judgment Day
As Kyo slid his arms around Testament's waist from behind, he got a good sense of the tight, corded muscles rippling beneath that leotard. Testament was every bit as powerful, up close, as she looked, but Kyo knew that size and power meant little when one was on the receiving end of a back body drop. Before he could even execute it, however, Testament turtled, and shot a hard elbow down, not back like some other women would do. Cursing, Kyo disengaged, but the elbow still caught him a glancing blow across his shoulder. It took supreme willpower on his part not to cry or hiss out in pain.
Backing away from Testament now, Kyo watched her warily. It was clear that Testament didn't play by the rules, and had a strength and power that would be difficult to corral. He would have to be on his guard in this match...

Re: Kyo Akamatsu vs. Testament - Judgment Day
As some of the spectators were quickly noticing, there was a very personal feel to the way Testament approached this match. Most wrestlers took things like the sport this, adhering to a certain rhythm. Sure, they were always trying to win, but most matches tended to follow certain patterns and codes, almost like a dance. There was a style to it all.
With Testament, there was none of that. The second Kyo let go of her, she circled about and went back on the attack, rushing towards him at full stride. She wasn’t just coming to fight him - she was coming after him. Hard.
The moment she was in range, she brought her arm and came at his head with a decapitating lariat, looking to knock him inside out if she scored the hit.

Re: Kyo Akamatsu vs. Testament - Judgment Day
As Kyo watched, Testament turned to face him again. He caught a glimpse of her eyes again. The way she was looking at him like he was nothing...no, less than nothing...was unnerving to say the least. There was no hatred on those eyes, or exhilaration, or anything like that. Just cold, ruthless contempt.
As Testament lunged at him again, Kyo was ready. Testament launched a brutal lariat at him, which he immediately ducked to avoid. Spinning behind Testament's guard, he dropped back, hoping to nail her with a drop kick while her back was turned!

Re: Kyo Akamatsu vs. Testament - Judgment Day
Kyo’s dropkick was a work of art. Not just in the move itself, but the way he executed it. Perfect timing. Testament moved in, he ducked with practiced ease, then leaped up and gained considerable height. She was tall, but not so tall that his dropkick couldn’t hit her square in the back.
On most foes, that would’ve been enough to floor them with ease, take the legs right out of her and bring down on her chest. With Testament, there was an effect, but not that much - she staggered forward a couple of steps, and might have staggered a few more if it wasn’t for the turnbuckle in her way.
She grabbed the ropes at the last second, saving her for a full impact, but for the moment she didn’t turn around. Seemingly stunned. Open and wide.

Re: Kyo Akamatsu vs. Testament - Judgment Day
As Kyo dropped down onto his butt, he was rolling, instantly springing back to his feet. He was reassured to see Testament leaning in the corner, seemingly winded. He didn't smile, of course, but all the same, he felt satisfied that Testament had felt that hit. If nothing else, she would stop underestimating him now.
Not wanting to waste a valuable opportunity, he ran at his larger opponent, trying to grab her by the arm and turn her around. If he did this, then he would turn to swing her to the opposite ropes...and, as she came back, would try to spin to the side and grab at her arm, aiming to use her weight against her in a simple but hopefully effective judo toss!
