Combat Style - Kubota is a grappler, a submission specialist who mixes in a powerful suplexes to keep her opponent off guard. While not the biggest woman in the ring by any means, she is nonetheless solidly built and is a very adept ring general, planting herself in the center of the ring, controlling the tempo of the match and using her excellent defensive skill to avoid being woman-handled, herself. While she strong, she's not a striker and will rarely throw so much as a punch. She's not as fast in the ring then one would expect. Part of this is due to her fighting style, she doesn't like to leave her feet, run the ropes or perform any kind of fancy arial maneuvers. The second reason is that her knees are, frankly, a mess after years of grueling matches, though the full extent she keeps secret.

Personality -  To say Isa Kubota has a bad attitude would be an understatement. Cold,  arrogant and full of herself,  Kubota considers herself a modern day warrior and takes herself very seriously. The strong are worthy of her respect, if nothing else. The weak and unskilled are practically sub-human in her eyes and deserved of whatever abuse she chooses to give them. Despite a reputation for hurting her opponents unnecessarily, she nonetheless has her own code of ethics, refusing to use foreign objects (openly referring to hard-core wrestlers as Garbage Wrestlers) or overtly cheat unless truly desperate.

History - A bright young woman from Onomichi Japan, Isa Kubota initially saw the wrestling circuit as a way to pay for college. She came from a wealthy family and her father had no small amount of political influence, but she saw achieving financial independence as vital to escaping the demanding control of her parents, who wished to dictate everything from what she should study and what family to marry into. Isa was having none of it.

Freakishly strong for size, and already a life long pro-wrestling fan, she adapted well to her new side profession until her father learned of her exploits. He used his power and influence to get her kicked out of her university, believing Isa would have no choice but to submit to her parents wishes. Considering this an unforgivable betrayal, she left home and never returned.

Since then she's made a living on the wrestling scene,  working her way through various lower teir promotions and becoming more dangerous with every victory. Along the way she ran into Zarya Volkov and the two had a long rivalry before finally earning each other's respect, and even bonding over a mutual love of hurting people. It was Zarya who invited Isa to try out for Friction, wanting someone else around she could sort of trust to have her back. That another hated rival,  Grace Allen,  had already joined gave her another reason to step into the big leagues.


Notes -  Kubota is an on again,  off again tag-team partner with Zarya Volkov.

In sharp contrast to her intense demeanor, Kubota is completely obsessed with cute, collectible stuffed animals.
