Sayuki vs Yi Lan

Lan wasn't the only one learning from her opponent's actions, although it wasn't as detailed it was enough to pick up the important aspects of her opponent's fighting style. Sayuki could tell from that hard hitting uppercut that Lan was definitely someone who used her fists quite often and has been in them enough to act on reflex/instinct as she delivered the punch quite quickly. Although discovering this, Sayuki had no idea if the girl was skilled in submissions enough to score the win, but Sayuki wasn't going to sit and wait as she wrapped her arms around her opponent's legs, but Lan had countered and sprawled on top of Sayuki.

Growling underneath Lan, Sayuki counted to pull on the back of the leg, hoping to trip up Lan but her opponent would grab her by the wrists and dragged her back to her feet. Struggling to free her wrists, Sayuki noticed that Lan's hands were occupied with hers and by her logic taking away her attacking weapons. Due to the close quarters, Sayuki would try to knee Lan in the thigh, going back to her strategy of weakening the leg.

Lan was hoping to quickly haul her opponent back up onto her feet before attacking her again, but, unfortunately for the Chinese girl, she had underestimated how long she would take trying to subdue the other girl as she struggled. She only underestimated it by a few seconds, but it was enough for her to be wide open for a knee to the thigh while she was still clutching her opponent by the wrists, trying to get her into position. “Ah!” Lan yelped softly, as the same leg was once again attacked, and briefly buckled again. She was forced to release Sayukiâ€s wrists and back up, putting some space between the two of them in order to recover.

She took a deep breath, and closed her eyes, calming herself. The match had been fairly even so far, but her opponent had gotten her good with several shots to that same leg, and Lan could not let her attack it any more. If she had to, she would offer up other body parts for easy shots, to absorb some of the punishment and keep it away from that leg.

So reassured, she would move forward again, putting her hands up in front of her to defend herself against any attacks Sayuki might make.

Sayuki smiled as she kneed Lan's thigh as she shook her leg after the attack, having some of the damage returned to her joint but knew that Lan was suffering more. What Sayuki wanted to do was press her advantage and continue the assault, but despite watching her opponent retreat she didn't see much weakness in the girl and chose to hold herself from rushing forward into a mistake.

Looking at her target, Lan's leg she had gotten some decent shots on it, but she knew that it was nowhere near enough to end the match. Although it could escalate into Lan being unable to put weight on it. Watching Lan place her hands up and heading back in, Sayuki stayed in her wrestling stance as she drew near Lan as she would fake a kick to the targeted leg, pulling back her swinging leg as she would then reach out for Lan's head and tried to get a side headlock, mixing up her attack patterns before Lan caught on.

Lan had considered the possibility that Sayuki would recognize that she was worried about her leg and try to fake her out, but, when the kick came, Lan still flinched, before abruptly realizing it was a false attack when no pain came. Instead, the other girl would rush forward and grab onto her, trying to pull her into a side headlock. Lan was not going to let that happen. It was a brutally efficient, simple move, and it would take a lot more out of her as she struggled to break free than it would take out of her opponent as she attempted to maintain it.

Instead, as Sayukiâ€s arm came down around her neck, Lan would reach over her shoulder, grabbing the girlâ€s elbow with both hands, before yanking hard on her arm, trying to pull her around her to break her chance at a headlock. If Lan was successfully in pulling her opponent out in front of her, she would then reach around and try to apply a side headlock of her own, clamping down on Sayukiâ€s head as if she were trying to squash it.

Sayuki sneered as she caught Lan's head in her headlock and would squeeze Lan's head...if she had the chance. Before she could lock in the hold, Lan immediately pulled and surprisingly for the pink haired girl, reversed it into her own side head lock. "Urrrrrgh..." Sayuki groaned as her head was being squeezed on, Sayuki knew that she had to break out of the hold before too much damage was done.

In an attempt to break out of the hold, Sayuki would reach up for Lan's head as she would try to wrap as much of her outer arm around Lan's head and pull on it while trying to slip her head out of the headlock with her inner hand pushing on the arm over her head as she would try to chain the move into a front headlock and putting the pressure back on Lan.

Lan was relatively satisfied with the way she was able to turn that potentially debilitating side headlock into a crushing side headlock of her own. Of course, it did take her a bit to keep it locked on, and it was not exactly the sort of technique that was going to force a submission out of her opponent. That much was obvious, and it only become more obvious when Sayuki managed to slip one of her arms around Lanâ€s head and, with a push, broke free of the headlock and locked on one of her own on the Chinese girl.

“Hnnn!” Lan grunted, as she was once again the one in the tough spot. She stumbled back and forth, with one of her hands pushing against her foeâ€s arms, while, at the same time, she would try the same trick that the other girl had just successfully used on her, trying to get her other arm around Sayukiâ€s head and trying to pull her down into a headlock instead.

Sayuki wrenched on her front headlock, squeezing the head as she lifted up not only putting stress on the head but also the neck. Stumbling with Lan to keep her opponent in her hold, Sayuki held on however Lan would counter by pulling Sayuki down into a head lock as well. Sayuki groaned as both girls were leaning over locked in a dual headlock hold as neither one of them had the leverage over the other as they squeezed the other's head.

Not willing to stay in this dual hold for long, Sayuki began thinking of a way to break her opponent's hold as their bodies begun to shine with sweat as as Sayuki squeezed before attempping to kick the targeted leg of Lan, though their current position she wouldn't be able to generate a hard kick enough to hurt Lan as much as she wanted...

Lan managed to capture Sayuki in a headlock of her own, but, despite her pushing and her best attempts to get out of the headlock that she herself was in, it was all to no avail, and she remained in her opponentâ€s clutches for the time being. So the two of them stumbled back and forth, each girl having her head and neck squeezed painfully by the other.

While Lan was glad that she was not taking any greater damage than her opponent, she would much rather be dominating the other girl. She needed to try to break Sayukiâ€s hold on her, and her first reaction was very instinctive for her. With her free hand, she would throw a roundhouse punch to Sayukiâ€s face, trying to hit her square in the nose. At the same time, she took yet another kick to her leg, causing it to buckle for an instant once again before she managed to regain her footing and keep the headlock locked tightly onto the other girl.

Sayuki also tried to push Lan's arm off of her head while at the same time trying to keep her hold on Lan. She was granted a nice gift from Lan in from of a full swing punch to her face, getting hit in the nose as Sayuki grunted out loud, her hold loosening considerably as she moved her hand to her nose as she felt it running. She didn't have time to check as she lost her headlock and now was stuck in Lan's head lock as she stumbled where ever Lan wanted to go as she wiped her hand across her nose as she saw it was blood coming out of her nose.

Lan had broken free of Sayukiâ€s headlock after a rough couple of minutes, and the Chinese girl was going to use this advantage she had to the fullest extent. Having already hit the girl hard enough to make her nose bleed, Lan decided to switch tactics for just a second and give the girl a taste of her own medicine. Lan would use her good leg—the one that had not been taking all sorts of punishment for the better part of this match—to send a series of swift kicks to her opponentâ€s shins and knees, trying to batter them and wear them down, just as Sayuki had done to her. Between the headlock and the kicking, Lan hoped to assert her authority and force the other girl to admit defeat for the first of what Lan intended to be three times.
