Poison types absorb Toxic Spikes upon entering the battlefield, so there's that.

There's also the fact that if you're using an all-Steel team, I'm going to hit you with Fire and Fighting so hard it's not even going to be funny.

Still won't do much to Heatran. You waste a turn hitting it with something that's not Earthquake to pop it's balloon, then it burns you to death.
