Mayumi's a classically trained wrestler - the switch to submission speciality is something she chose herself both out of preference and talent. She grew up in Okinawa, Japan, and the oversaturation of male wrestlers as compared to their female counterparts led her to partake in a lot of mixed matches just to have someone to compete with. That's how Mayumi came to discover how good she was at it, using her combination of beauty and skill to lay waste to her male opponents, making them tap out in her sultry clutches. She came to AFW to compete at a high level of mixed wrestling, and to prove to the entire world the strength of her as a person and of the Japanese wrestling scene.
