Dark Match: Merith vs. Jean Grey

Merith cried out in pain as her arm was twisted and pulled back even further. Merith shook her head no as the referee got down and inquired her submission. The big girl was far from giving up... or at least she hoped she was. Merith's butt raised into the air a little as she tried to get her knees under her body to start getting up but as Jean leaned back it kept Merith's upper half down on the ground while her butt raised into the air. The Amazon clawed at the mat with her free hand, the hold really hurting. She reached out towards the ropes, trying to grab them in order to escape Jean's offense, but she couldn't reach them just yet...

Jean felt Merith struggle and move. Looking and seeing Merith reach for the ropes, Jean would actually get up. At first it seemed, she might actually be letting Merith get up even though she retained the armlock. She would briefly let one of her arms loose, trying to hold Merith secure by the wrist while using her free arm to drive an elbow into Merith's shoulder perhaps trying to drive her back down again to reapply the hold easier.

Merith was a little surprised as the pressure lifted and Jean began to make her way to a vertical base with Merith. Merith panted hard as the relief hit her like a cool breeze on a hot day. Her arm was still caught in her opponent's hold but... "AHHH!!" Merith screamed out as Jean drove her sharp elbow into the Amazon's shoulder this time. The largewoman dropped to the mat hard on her front, now getting really angry. The hand of her captured arm balled into a tight fist as she tried to somehow use her strength to curl her arm out of the predicament but the damage was already starting to show as she couldn't completely curl out before she had to give up and let Jean reposition her arm. "Dammit!" the freckled Amazon cursed...

Jean would go back to torturing the arm, but now she would no longer pay attention to Merith's movements which might give her the chance she needed to crawl to the ropes if she wanted to.

Merith hit the mat with the fist of her free hand before she reached again for the ropes. Merith could notice that Jean was starting to get a little sloppy because last time she reached for the ropes, Jean effectively countered. Perhaps Jean was distracted by the fact she was winning some more fan support. Merith didn't care whatever the case as she continued to inch closer and closer to the ropes until finally she was able to grab a hold. Immediately the ref went to Jean, ordering her to release her opponent...

Jean sighed as her opponent made it to the ropes and she ordered to break off. She would however let Merith go and back away. The ref would stay between them for a while giving Merith some time to recover.

Merith rose to her feet, holding her arm and trying to move it around to work the kinks out. It wasn't really known how much Jean's hold took out of Merith's arm, but it could be certain that it wasn't 100% anymore. Merith took a few moments to recover before she gestured for Jean to start again. Merith approached her cautiously, moving in a half circle before she attempted to grapple her. If successful, Merith would try to slip behind Jean and then yank her into a german suplex...

Just as Merith was about to lock up with the grapple attempt, Jean would go for a knee shot to the gut. If successful, she would try to Irish whip Merith to the ropes.

"Uhhn!" Merith grunted as the knee to her abdominals bent her over. But as Jean tried to follow up with an irish whip, Merith planted her legs and used her weight advantage to negate the attempt and reverse it, sending Jean at the ropes instead. On her way back, Merith would bring her foot up to plant her big boot right into Jean's mouth...

Jean tried to yank twice to get Merith in the Irish whip but to no avail. Jean herself would then be tossed to the ropes, and end up kissing Merith's boot on the return trip. Jean went down on her back. Since she was still feeling some adrenalin from her recent resurgence she would try to get back up but might likely be vulnerable.
