Apologies.

Tue Aug 09, 2022 1:04 am by ihateocrecolors

Due to some issues that I think have been popping up because of my involvement in stuff, I believe it's in the interest for me and everyone else that I take a temporary or probably permanent leave from AFW-related stuff. I have been nothing more than a burden to most of you. I won't make this into a giant paragraph. All I want to say is that I apologize to everyone who's ever rooted for me because I can't hack it not anymore.

Retiring some wrestlers

Sun Jul 10, 2022 11:42 am by Deus001

Hey all

Deus here, I've been thinking it over and I'll be looking at benching some of my roster. Been thinking its a bit over bloated and with newer ideas on the horizon for me I've figured its time to shuffle them off to greener pastures or let their faceclaims be free to use.

So at the moment I will be retiring Chuang Lingxian, Qi Lingxian and Leon La Rouge effective immediate. I might be considering benching other people but atm the above three are getting axed. If you want to adopt any of …

A Test of Endurance (For Ringropes) Empty A Test of Endurance (For Ringropes)

"...kyujuu....kyukuu...hyuku."

After completing his hundredth crunch, Kyo allowed himself to recline on the training mat, breathing hard, his naked chest perspiring a little as it rose and fell. It was after hours, and the gym-- a more isolated one at the west end of Kyoto-- was mostly empty now. Which was fine, as Kyo preferred not to engage with people when he was training. It wasn't just a time of physical training for him: it was also a time of quietude, of introspection, of training himself mentally and spiritually as well as physically. Maybe it was all that meditative practice his mom had put him through during kendo lessons as a boy, or maybe he just liked to be away from the noise and chaos of AFW every once in a while.

He sat up. He was wearing only a simple pair of black gym shorts that clung to his frame, terminating at the uppermost part of his thighs and leaving the rest the rest of his well-chiseled form naked and exposed to the silence of the arena. He glanced at one of the adjoining mirrors and noted himself-- well his well-developed abdominal muscles, lean but tightly corded arms and legs, land dark hair and...that blue flame tattoo he had gotten back in his high school years. He winced: he had been young and stupid then, just at the start of his wrestling career, but he couldn't bear to part with the tattoo now. Like it or not, it was a part of his image now, a part of him.

He allowed himself to recline back on the mat and regulate his breathing. It had been a while since that his last match-- that brutal, hard-fought draw against Shin Utaka. That match had been a first for him, in more ways than one. It had been the first time in a long time that he had been knocked out-- and not merely by a devastating punch or a choke hold, but by an all powerful squeeze that had purged the air from his lungs. It was the first time he and an opponent had fought to a draw, squeezing each other into unconsciousness.

And it had been the first time in a while he had been thinking back to the match again and again for a reason other than trying to analyze why he had lost. He remembered how well balanced he and Shin had been against each other, how she had rivalled him in strength and submission skill...but also he remembered the feel of her warm, sweat-streaked body practically melting against his as the two of them had squeezed one another...

He cursed, sat up, and immediately tried to quell the resurgent feelings of arousal. This wasn't good. He couldn't train if his thoughts kept drifting back to that sensual moment. He couldn't wrestle if his attention was so easily diverted. He needed to get back to exercise, and focus his thoughts on only the immediate moment.

Grabbing his headphones, he cycled his phone over to his third exercising playlist (mostly anime tracks by Susumu Hirawasa and Yoko Kanno), grabbed his towel, and headed off towards the treadmills. The run would give him something to focus on, at least-- an invisible destination to push himself towards for the rest of the night.

A Test of Endurance (For Ringropes) Empty Re: A Test of Endurance (For Ringropes)

Post by Ringropes98 Wed Jun 30, 2021 5:31 am

Spoiler:

“Nghh. Haaa. Fooo. Haaa. Fooo.” on the opposite end of the now empty gym, another occupant continued her workout as she sat on the mat with her knees curled and passing a twenty pound weight ball side to side. Sweat slowly glided down her body as she continued her rebs, feeling the burning in her core and pushing herself to move past the pain. By next week, the fruits of her labor would bloom and her sculpted abs would be like cast iron. I’m breakable to any attack.

That didn’t mean she should overwork herself though. That would cost her in the long run, so with a final pass she set the ball down and lay across the mat for a breather. Shin had been coming to this quaint little gym for a while now, though never this late at night. She usually went in the mornings, but events both personal and professional in the ring had her miss her usual morning workout. Now she was simply making up for lost time by coming here at this time. Though she’ll admit that it was strange seeing the place so empty.

Not that it was a bad thing though, in fact it was great. The silence and lack of other gym goers not only gave Shin free reign of all the equipment. But it also allowed her mind to wander while she did it. Something she could never do thanks to the constant hussle and bussle of the day time gym fare. It gave her time to think and reflect on past matches and what she could have done to better herself, from her loses to her wins.

And her draws.

Shin could already feel the blush that was starting to glow on her cheeks at that particular thought. Even after all this time since then she couldn’t stop herself from remembering her match with the one called Kyo. Which always lead to far more embarrassing thoughts the longer she remembered it. The way his handsome face grimaced as she slapped him with a submission hold. The way his teeth grit as she slowly and stubbornly crawled his way to freedom. The way his muscles bulged as her turned the tide and pressed his body against her own. The way her body tingled each ti-

Shin furiously shook her head before any of those distracting thoughts flooded further and instead climbed back to her feet. Taking a sip of her nearby water bottle, Shin decided it was time to move on to her next rep. She adjusted her tight black and green gym shorts and her black bra, before finally making sure her ponytail was nice and tight and making her way to the Rowing machine. A set that was conveniently next to the treadmills, so maybe she could do some running when she was done. But right now she simply sat down on the seat, set her preferred weight, and began to row. She shut the world away and focused completely on her reps.

Even as she heard someone approaching behind her. She didn’t bother to look, simply assuming that they were a late worker as well and were about to go on a run. And that was all right with her.

Though if she looked, she would see that the one behind her was the one that refused to leave her thoughts.

A Test of Endurance (For Ringropes) Empty Re: A Test of Endurance (For Ringropes)

Post by Underdog21 Wed Jun 30, 2021 6:53 pm

The gym was less empty than Kyo had expected when he made his way to the treadmills, with the unmistakable sound of one of the rowing machines being used, the metallic whoosh of the levers being pulled and released again and again echoing into the mostly empty room. Probably someone who had the same idea he did, he thought, trying to get a quiet workout in after-hours. He figured he wouldn't disturb this other person and just mind his own business: choosing one of the treadmills, he draped his towel over one of the edges, set a running speed and duration, slipped his headphones on, and pressed Start without taking a further look towards the rowing machines.

The opening theme song of Paranoia Agent blasted into his ears as started off in a low jog. Gradually, the machine cycled upwards towards a higher speed forcing him to keep pace. He regulated his breathing, his heartbeat pacing more quickly as his body went into motion, the muscles in his legs tensing as they propelled him onwards. Already, the thoughts and worries of the previous few weeks drifted from his mind, and he focused instead on the future, and what he wanted to do moving forwards-- the matches he had booked, the vacation time he was probably going to take in Okinawa, those library books he had to finish before their return date...

His heartbeat regulated as he continued to match the pace of the treadmill, now having switched from a jog to an outright run. He amplified the speed a little, almost daring the machine to make things hard for him, and quickened his breathing as he was forced to run even faster. He liked too imagine an invisible road ahead, stretching off to some unknown horizon. Maybe after this, he would continue that journey by sea instead of land, he thought with a slight smile. He could use a turn on the rowing machine after this, and give his arms a proper workout. He glanced to his left to see if the other occupant was done...

...and froze. It was her. She was attired differently this time, of course, and her long black hair was done up in a ponytail, but it was unmistakably her. Shin Utaka was on the rowing machine, aggressively pulling the handles back and forth, her face set into the same determined grimace that had stared into his face in their last match, as they had squeezed into each other. She was clad in a simple sports bra and gym shorts, black and green like her ring attire...but while her ring outfit had clung to but still covered her powerful form, her gym outfit showed off her physique to the world, exposing her perfectly sculpted abdomen, her sports bra barely clinging to her firm round breasts...

For a few seconds, time seemed to freeze...until reality caught up violenty to Kyo. He slipped, losing his footing on the treadmill and went plummeting forwards. He cried out in alarm: in a reflex action, he threw his arm forward, slapping at the dial of the treadmill to turn it off and prevent it from flinging him across the room. The action saved him, but still sent him sprawling forwards, his head smacking against the front of the machine and causing him to sprawl in a daze onto the treads.

Blinking furiously, he grabbed the side railing of the treadmill and pulled himself up to his knees, leaning over the railing towards Shin. In this moment of horrible awkwardness, he had no idea of what to say.

"Hi," was all he managed.

A Test of Endurance (For Ringropes) Empty Re: A Test of Endurance (For Ringropes)

Back and forth her arms moved. Pulling back the bar of the rowing machine and putting more strain on her biceps, back and legs. A puff of air escaped her after each pump as she regulated her breathing so she wouldn’t get tired too quickly. Her original weight wasn’t doing enough for her, so she opted to raise it up slightly before continuing.

As she did so, she heard the treadmill not too far away start up. The other occupant no doubt using it to get their run in. Shin didn’t bother to look, instead focusing on her own workout and minding her own business. Though that didn’t stop her from hearing the faint sounds of music leaking out.

The sound didn’t really bother her all too much, though it did remind her how she annoyingly forgot her own pair of headphones when she came here. Which was a shame because she would have loved to listen to music herself too. The gym had a radio, but it had long since been turned off when everyone began to clear out.

So instead she just continued her reps while the other gym goer enjoyed their run. Though that would suddenly come to an end when Shin heard a shout and a bang. Slightly startled the bear snapped her head to see what had caused such a racket. Though what, or rather who she found made her freeze on place while her eyes widened.

Slowly climbing back to his feet was the very same man that had been occupying her thoughts for the last couple of days. His attire was different from when she last saw him, though that wasn’t much. His shorts were the only difference of note. They were tighter against him and pressed his-

Wordlessly and as quickly as she could, hopefully without being noticed her eyes snapped up to his face! An awkward moment passed after he spoke before Shin finally responded in kind. “Hi….” she spoke back before another awkward silence returned. Attempting to get out of the suffocation, Shin spoke once more.

Are you… ok? Do you need a hand?” she tentatively asked.

A Test of Endurance (For Ringropes) Empty Re: A Test of Endurance (For Ringropes)

I've just made an ass of myself in front of her, was the first thing Kyo thought as he and Shin shared a very awkward stare. I just slipped and fell on the treadmill and made myself look like an idiot in front of her. Shin, for her part, seemed more surprised and confused than anything else, and Kyo took the opportunity to stand up straight, and not lean awkwardly against the rail of the treadmill like he had been clinging to it for dear life.

At that point, Shin asked if he was alright. "F-fine!" he stammered as he stood up, attempting a nonchalant smile that ended up looking more awkward and nervous than anything else. "Just a...small mishap. Nothing to worry about." He tried to ignore the way his forehead was throbbing where it had smacked against the controls of the treadmill. He tried to calm himself, to quell the sudden panic he was feeling, but the fact that the woman had been occupying his thoughts was here, and had just seen him go sprawling across the side of the treadmill, wasn't helping matters. He had no idea what the odds were of her being in the same gym as him at this time of night, and wondered if the universe was playing some cruel joke on him.

Nonetheless, he tried to look calm and composed as he toweled himself off. "What...um...brings you here?" It was only after the question had left his mouth that he realized how dumb it was. Obviously, she was here for a workout, just like he was. Just don't say anything more, idiot, he thought to himself.

Shin was so shocked by the fact that Kyo was in the gym alongside her this whole time, that she didn’t notice just what state he was in until seconds later. From what she could understand, he was just as surprised as her and lost his footing on the treadmill. A red mark was slowly growing on his forehead from what she could assume was when he banged his head against something on the way down.

The bear was snapped out of her thoughts when Kyo finally answered her. Explaining that the sound was just a small mishap and nothing more. If Shin didn’t know Kyo like she did, she would have questioned that statement. But she knew just how durable her former opponent was, so she instead kept her mouth shut and responded to his question.

“Oh! I’m just uh…getting a late workout in. Do you come to this gym often? Because I’ve been coming here for a while now but I’ve never seen you until now?” she asked, mostly just trying to keep the conversation going and avoid another awkward silence. “Sooo. How have you been? You know, since our match?”

If Shin had noticed the way Kyo had tripped and fallen the way he had, she wasn't saying anything...and right now, Kyo would settle for that. It did a lot to quell the anxiety rising in the pit of his stomach, but it didn't make the situation feel any less awkward. If nothing else, at least Shin seemed just as confused as he was.

"Yeah, I usually come here as well," Ky said, unconsciously rubbing the back of his head...and unwittingly showing off his abs for Shin in the process. "I just usually come here during the evening. Sometimes I try come during after hours, like now, when it's nice and quiet." He blushed a little. "I had no idea you came here as well, though. Believe me, I really didn't mean to intrude."

Shin's second question made him pause a bit. "Oh...I've been fine." he said. Which was true: aside from the few days of physiotherapy he had needed after almost getting squeezed to death by the Bear, he was totally fine. "How about you? How've you been?"

Shin was doing everything in her power to not make this situation more awkward. Thankfully it seemed that Kyo felt the same as he quickly jumped onto the topic change Shin presented. This whole situation was confusing, so the faster the two of them move past it. The better they’ll both feel.

Shin was surprised to hear that Kyo also came here a lot. Though from the sounds of it, he usually came around at this time of night while she usually came in the mornings. Funny how a twist of fate was all it for them to see each other again, especially so soon after their match!

As he spoke, Shin’s eyes lingered slightly at his stomach. Seeing the corded muscle that made up his abdomen, that was still slightly tensed most likely from his workout. Her eyes nearly went lower when she heard him ask a question that made her snap back up to his face.

“I’ve been doing pretty good all things considered. Though I haven’t had a match since ours. Management probably thinking I needed to “recover” or something. What about you?” she asked as she stretched her back slightly. Stretching her arms over her head and (unintentionally?) jutting her breasts forward slightly.

Things seemed to be calming down a bit now. True, the encounter between him and Shin here in the gym, had been painfully awkward, and to a large extent it still was, but at least he had gotten over the initial humiliation of tripping and falling in front of her: now at least, he felt he could relax a little, and Shin seemed to be doing the same. Indeed, Shin casually stretched as she spoke, and oh wow those breasts of hers actually were visibly straining against her sports bra and--

Kyo immediately turned his face up to Shin's eyes, trying desperately not to blush. "A few matches that have been lined up," he said, "but these are all tag matches. No singles matches as of yet." He realized there was a note of bitterness, and realized as well that Shin might pick up on it. "But otherwise I've been in the same boat. I don't know why they think I need to recover from our match-- I've been through worse, after all."

It was only as the words left his mouth that he realized Shin might take that as an insult. He hoped the Bear wasn't feeling ill-tempered today...and that, now that he remembered it, he also hoped she also forgot about how he accidentally groped her during their bout...

Shin nodded along as she heard Kyo answer. Her stretch finished she focused back on his face and noticed the slightest tinge of red. Shin didn’t dwell on that for too long though as she picked up on the bitterness in her former opponents tone. From the sounds of it, he was also left on the bench after their match.

Though unlike the bear, he still had matches lined up. “Oh right! You’re on a tag team with your sister right? Mako or something? Sorry,
I haven’t been as connected with the tag scene as I am with singles. Though I really should now that I think about it. My old partner told me that she’s thinking of joining.”

Shin was going to say more until she caught the last couple of words that Kyo spoke, and her eyes narrowed slightly. “Worse huh? Do you usually pass out in a bearhug? Granted it was mutual because I lost it too but wouldn’t the fact that it happened multiple times be concerning?” Shin retorted, a challenging glint entering her eyes as she waited to see Kyo’s reaction.
