Ayumi is not an agile woman, but she is capable of sudden bursts of speed and force. She can strike and take-down with alarming speed once she enters a certain range. She's also quite resilient, showing little overt discomfort as she recovers from attacks. As a trained Judoka and Sumo wrestler, Ayumi knows best how to use one's momentum and weight to her advantage as she tosses her opponents across the ring. Outside of her grappling acumen however, her striking game is rather simplistic as she relies on chops and palm strikes to disorient her opponents.

Personality: Ayumi is rather formal for someone of her age, carrying herself with a level of grace that is rare to find nowadays. She is fueled by the desire to honor her retired father as she seeks to claim a major title yet she is careful to never let it blind her.




Bio: Born in the fishing town of Ine, Ayumi is the daughter of retired sumo wrestler, Awano Gozen and spent the majority of her childhood and young adult life idolizing him. Ayumi sought a career in sumo much like he did and initially began training in the art to follow in his footsteps and in training her did Awano see the self-same skill that brought him to the rank of Sekiwake in professional sumo. Ayumi would soon gain a reputation as she would consistently find victory in amateur tournaments, but the iron-clad tradition that sumo was rooted in meant that Ayumi would never get to compete professionally and the increasing health issues that Awano gained from his strict training regiment prior to his retirement would sway Ayumi to find a new path in practicing Judo. Utilizing the fundamentals gained from her sumo training as well becoming taller as she grew older turned Ayumi into a figurative steel wall as she dominated in various tournaments and eventually was recruited into the Japanese Women's team to compete on a national level. With the world now as her ring, Ayumi seeks to honor her father by defeating the very best and bring home the championship gold that her father never had the chance to obtain.

Despite holding an undefeated streak in LAW, Ayumi was feeling somewhat utilized and looked to make herself more known to the crowd. She was given the suggestion to form a team with her roommate and fellow rookie Cali McCloud and with AFW seeking out new talent, the two girls decided to join their powers together and try their hands at tag wrestling.

Sumo wrestlers are often required to dress in traditional Japanese clothing to mark them as such in the public, a tradition that Ayumi upholds herself as she often dresses in yukatas quite casually.

Ayumi still competes in amateur sumo tournaments across the region of Kyoto. While not holding the title officially, many in Ine call Ayumi the town's Yokozuna, referencing the highest title in sumo in regards to Ayumi's numerous wins against local wrestlers.
