Running An Idea By You All

So, as the title says...

I had something of an idea. It's not solid and I'm somewhat aware of it's flaws, but I was curious of general opinion of it and any feedback/ideas before I got to work kneading them out;

So, essentially there'd be something of a club. Note, not a team or stable. It's members wouldn't be encouraged to band together against some common foe, save one another from beat downs etc. The only thing notable about said club would be it's actual members, and the #1 spot. Said spot's importance would be dictated by whoever's holding it, whoever's going for it etc. Maybe to some it's just a side achievement to put on a character profile that they held the spot for a while, maybe to others holding it's more important than anything else.

The whole purpose of the club would be to serve as a plot device; a reason for feuds, rivalry's and such. Maybe depending on whose contending for the number one spot and what they're doing with it said spot actually means something at some point, but it wouldn't be anything reminiscence of a title. The difference between the club and the old top ten ranking system would be the fact that there are only two ranks; Number 1, and everyone else (perfect feud fuel). Maybe to set the matches in the group apart from standard would be certain stipulations or such, I'm not sure.

So, thoughts? Feedback? Workable? Or is it my stupidest idea ever?

Instead of a 'club' it was a Smackdown vs Raw type arrangement within AFW, but the thinking behind it was the same. Never got any support though.

Personally I'd like some light RP structures that go beyond the biannual PPV setup, though we're low on mods atm so I dunno who would organise. Mind you, acting as a 'showrunner' or similar for a small RP group (be it a club or a show or what have you) would sort of be a 'light' mod role, so it might be a good intermediary position to help spread the admin burden.

I think this is a cool idea and I for one would support it.

The groups activity regarding PPV's could definitely be interesting, maybe acting something as a kick-off match to alot of PPVs. Rather than a whole ranking system however, it'd literally just be #1 and everyone else, with everyone else having the opportunities to obviously fight each other and prove they deserve to contend for said spot.

Support would definitely be a issue though, as the names involved could make or break it. And big important characters tend to be a bit busy for things like the club.

If lots of big important characters were too busy for the club then potentially if any of the important characters would be ok with, or want only one loss then that important character could lose to the number #1 character, then try to have them be built up as an almost important character by having them win matches frequently against other club members and maybe win in like triple threat matches or fatal four ways etc. I feel like this would help create the impression that the #1 person would be worthy of the spot. It might make it kind of simplistic and predictable to have the same one person win quite a lot but it would make the position seem more important when someone does manage to get take it away from them. I'm new though so sorry if I don't know what I'm talking about haha
