Abattoir vs. Alicia Wells vs. Liberty - Here Comes The Pain

Liberty was down, but Liberty was not out. Not yet. Closer than she’d like, but she could still handle this. She’d just get up, bum rush Alicia while she was busy with Abattoir, take them both out and pin whoever was less fresh at the moment. She’d probably have to add some punching into the equation, but it was otherwise a solid plan.

She started to get up, rose to her knees, took a hot second to readjust her elbow pad, and…

DING DING DING!

Liberty’s eyes went so wide she swore they might pop out of her head. She turned just in time to see Alicia releasing Abattoir from whatever crazy hold she’d been put in, claiming the victory. Alicia. Alicia. Nothing against her - she was great, strong, clearly a top contender, and she’d done better in this sort of match than just about anyone in a similar position would.

But Liberty was a champion. Cream of the crop. One of the best hardcore wrestlers the AFW had ever seen...not that there was a whole lot of competition in that field, but still. She should’ve had this.

Liberty slumped against the barricade and slid to her butt, taking the time to just let it all sink in. She knew where it all went wrong, too - Abattoir. It was all Abattoir. She’d spent too much time dealing with the little hellion, and it all came to bite her in the ass. The scratching, the slaps, the focus fighting between them, all of it had costed them both in the end.

But she knew how to make it right. And, judging by the glare in Abattoir’s eyes, so did she.

She blew a raspberry back at her rival, the only response she had energy for at the moment. This wasn’t done. Not nearly. Next time they met, Liberty was going to break her clean in half.

That was pretty much what she’d expected. Not wanting the full weight of the nak muay on her, Alicia had done her best to support Abattoir for that moment when the smaller woman had been basically out on her feet but she hadn’t done anything to stop her when she’d pushed away and ended up on her knees. She was doing better than the last guy Alicia’d done that too, by virtue of being partly vertical and not hugging at her ribs and whimpering like a baby.

Well, she was clutching her ribs but the redhead couldn’t blame her for that one.

Sliding off the barrier at last, she stretched like a particularly well-built cat – all the image needed was for her to be actually purring with satisfaction - and even unwound enough to take a high five from one of the audience who’d been cheering her on for the last minute or two. It was tempting to drop the offer of a rematch then and there, but then she noticed which way Abattoir was looking and… Yeah.

It didn’t take a genius to work out that it wasn’t a rematch with her that the nak muay wanted. And as her gaze too fell on Liberty next, where she was slumped against the barrier a little ways away, it was true of the psycho brunette too. Well, if that’s what they wanted, she wasn’t going to complain.

Glancing down at Abattoir again, Alicia sketched her a nod – weird or not with the gas mask and the contacts, she had to respect her toughness. Then she flicked a more contemptuous look at Liberty and began to make her way backstage to the mixed cheers and boos of the crowd as the med techs started to gingerly approach the two fallen women.

Very gingerly, because neither was exactly looking happy and no sensible crew member really wanted to get into the way of that staredown. Alicia – for her part – was just looking forward to that long shower.
