Getting to Know You

Valley’s first instinct was to ask about Kara’s problems, but she had to be cautious, not wanting to get too friendly. After all, they'd known each other less than twenty minutes, tops. Not exactly a good time to get that intimate.

”East Coast girl, good. You'll find plenty of company.” Even though Valley was still leading them, she really didn't need to, at this point. There was no way Kara couldn't hear the sound of slapping metal and running treadmills, along with the unmistakable odor of sweat wafting into their noses.

Valley opened a door off to the side and revealed the Friction gym in all its glory. Even though she'd been herself dozens of times since she'd joined, it was still an impressive sight. Every sort of weight machine and tool a budding wrestler could ask for. Plenty of free weights and punches bags, as well as a whole area dedicated to cross training. A jogging track circled the whole area and, at the center, were three full-sized wrestling rings with sparring equipment nearby. Everything was well-cleaned and well-kept, giving it all a professional, fresh look.

"Willing to bet this is where you'll spend a lot of your time." Valley waved her hand over it all, then turned back to Kara. "You like?"

As they walked, Kara's expression brightens up more and more at the sound of impacting metal whirring machines. It took much self-control to break away from following Valley and rush towards the sounds. Her patience payed off when they finally reached the gym and opened those doors. The look on Kara's face was of sheer joy when she saw the great variety and the condition of the Friction gym. Anything she could have ever needed for any purpose regarding her fitness was in this one room. She would set a futon in the middle of the room and live here if she didn't think that would be so silly.

"I love!" Kara promptly responded, stepping in to get a closer look at everything she would have available to her during future workout sessions. Joining Friction suddenly felt like the best decision she's ever made in her entire lifetime.

"Thought you would." Valley gave Kara a little elbow in the side. "It's open 24/7 and there are trainers you can contact who'll come by and work with you whenever you like. Very good facility, one of the best of its kind in the country. Just, ah, be careful about coming late at night, if you do swing by." Valley gave her a quick wink and stepped back. "Same problem with the locker rooms. Privacy issues."

She scanned around the room until her eyes stopped on the sparring equipment and an idea popped into her head. Valley had been planning on ditching the tour as soon as she could to get back to her, but she hadn't banked on it being such an enjoyable experience. Maybe...

"Say..." Valley bit her lip and motioned over to the one of the empty rings. "I was planning on ending the tour here, but how about we go a round? Just a little spar, you and me, get your feet wet."

Between the friendly elbow and the good things she was hearing about this wonderful sweat-scented paradise, Kara's growing anticipated manifested into a wide, bright-eyed smile. She couldn't wait to put this place into use to develop her already powerful body. But, upon hearing a familiar warning, Kara's smile weakens. She forgot that this was a sexually-charged business, and many of the wrestlers may be prone to certain acts in places you least expected.

With this supposedly being the end of the tour, Kara had planned to spend the rest of the day working out here once Valley was gone. There was enough equipment here to last her hours and she would be sure to make good use of them. But then, Valley pitched another idea. A better idea. A spar; an exercise to test her abilities and prepare herself for the inevitable first match. Looking to her, Kara had long lost her doubts on Valley's abilities, remembering clearing that roundhouse Valley practiced while Kara had been packing her things away in the locker room. She began to get curious on what else this woman was capable of as a wrestler, and had little doubt that she could learn a thing or two from her.

"I'm up for it if you are," Kara replied with a grin, nodding in agreement with the proposal offered to her, "A good warm-up would do me some good."
