Lightning Tournament: Round 1: Sion Eltnam Vs. Serina Kashibara

Though Serina's punch hit hard, Sion almost immediately retaliated with a knee right to the gut of the dirty blonde. "Guhhh...!" she grunted, staggering back a few steps and she held her stomach. Glancing back up at the purple-haired girl with a glint of anger in her eyes, Serina lunged right back at her, this time trying to punch Sion right in the chest.

Sion smirked as she felt her knee sinking into Serina's stomach, landing as Serina staggered away a few steps. As the purple head regained her balance, Serina was kind enough to come charging back in. Turning aside, Sion took a glancing blow to her chest, wrapping an arm around Serina's and trying to sweep the blonde's legs out from under her.

Missing her punch, Serina grunted as her legs were swept out from under her. Falling forward, she managed to catch herself, quickly trying to push off and roll away so that she could get back on her feet.

The purple-head was a bit surprised at Serina's rapid recovery, the blonde managing to roll away from the leg-sweep. Intent on not letting her stop Sion's attempt to build momentum, the Egyptian wrestler chased after her, intending to greet the girl with a soccer kick if Serina couldn't get back to her feet in time.

It seemed Sion was not going to let her get away so easily. Chasing Serina down, the purple-haired girl slammed a kick into the dirty-blonde girl's side. Gasping out in pain, the force of the hit sent her rolling even farther away. However, as she ended up near the edge of the canvas, Serina quickly took the chance to slide under the bottom rope and to land outside the ring to give herself a chance to recover.

Sion quickly evaluated her options as Serina slid out of the ring, the ref starting to count her out soon afterwards.

On one hand, she could press her advantage, not give Serina a chance to recover, though that risked backfiring if she ended up tied up outside the ring or if Serina managed to regain the upper hand.

On the other hand, she could wait in here, take a moment to catch her breath. If she could keep Serina from re-entering the ring, she'd win, but Serina would have time to recover. Not much, but it would be better than nothing...

Weighing the decision in her mind, Sion decided to stay in the ring, waiting for Serina.

Taking her own time to recover, Serina just slapped the canvas with one had, looking tauntingly over at Sion, "What's the matter? Too pussy to come after me!?"

"I don't need to if you get counted out," Sion said simply, her calm demeanor not shaken by Serina's taunt.

"Tch..." Serina grunted in frustration, probably getting even less of a reaction out of Sion than the two punches she landed thus far, if that were even possible. Holding out as long as she could, she climbed back up on to the apron, and tried to step through the ropes cautiously before her count out was up.

Resolving to take the easy way out, Sion would rush forwards the moment she saw Serina trying to step through the ropes, intending to shoulder-check the girl back out of the ring. In her rush, however, Sion's nerves, already a little jangly from the sheer tension in the match, no pun intended, resulted in her aim being thrown off a little, resulting in the charge missing Serina by inches.
