Mako caught the clerk moving away out of the corner of her eye, and she nodded between him and one of her girls - the message got through loud and clear. She moved over to the door he went to and made sure it stayed open, just in case he got any ideas about calling the police before they were through having their fun.

She stood with arms folded in front of Amy, curious to see what route she'd take now that the gauntlet was thrown. The girl had some spirit, there was no getting around that, and if she was in Tension she couldn't be all that bad in a fight. Mako hadn't seen her wrestle even once, but as long as she had some talent, there was potential here to look good. Roll around with her, knock her the fuck out, put on a show for the girls and head on to the rally just a wee bit late. Seemed like a decent plan.

That was, if Amy took the bait. But even though they barely knew each, it had already become abundantly clear that this was not the sort of girl that backed down. Ever. Mako kind of admired that. In another universe, she would've made a good Valkyrie. After they cut the ponytail, maybe.

So, shocker of shockers, Amy accepted the challenge and stepped up, getting right in Mako's face as the pint-sized terror licked her lips. "You know what? That is a good idea, blondie. But let's make it better - 24/7 match. You and me, right here and right now. That way, it won't just be an ass-kicking. It'll be an official ass-kicking."

The girls started to back up and give them ample space, all the while breaking into a steady chant: "Fight! Fight! Fight!"

There was no stopping it. Once all that was separating Amy and Mako was a few inches of superheated air, Amy felt her lips curl up into a happy smile. Despite the circumstances, despite the overwhelming odds, Amy couldn’t help but be excited for the fight to come. From what she remembered of Mako’s match with Nathan, Mako was a caution-to-the-wind brawler, much like Amy herself, and that was Amy’s favorite kind of matchup. That smile only widened when Mako accepted and the circle started to chant and expand. Then Mako upped the ante, challenging Amy to make their fight a 24/7 match… wait, huh? What?

Amy’s smile disappeared, and she broke their staring contest with a confused blink. “I… I don’t know what that means. What do you mean, 'official?'" And, more importantly: "We’re still gonna fight, right?”

Mako rolled her eyes. Gaijins. "For fuck's sakes, yes."

She stepped back and took off her jacket, whipping it down quick and wrapping it around her waist. Normally she would've held off on that until the halfway point of a match, but she had the feeling that this fight was going to get hot, fast. "24/7 match. Hardcore. We're wrestlers, we can have a match anywhere as long as we've got a ref. Divine'll make the call," She nodded towards the Brazilian Valkyrie, who immediately stepped off to the side and started dialing. "And they'll send somebody over to watch the match. Shouldn't take more than five minutes. Just enough time to leave you bloody on the floor.

Mako raised her fists and started bouncing on her heels, bobbing from side to side. Already getting into a good rhythm. A wild smile came over her lips as the circle of Valkyries grew even louder. "Let's get it started. Want to see if you've got more balls than your little boyfriends."

24/7 matches- for when you wanted to fight on the weekend, but still get paid for it. Amy liked the concept.

Amy took a step backwards, brought her fists up, and she started to move, too- nothing fancy like Mako was doing, just a simple up and down bounce to keep her mobile. “Cute. The gang leader wants to fetch a ref. Alright, then, let’s get things started.” Then the smile came back. “Nathan’s got backbone like an anchovy, but he’s a decent fighter. I’m not half as good as he is, so you might actually stand a chance.”

Amy made the first move. Barely after she’d finished speaking, she partially closed the distance again; Mako was ducking and weaving, great for slipping punches, but less great for a sweeping attack like a round kick aimed at chest height.

Mako had just started to move forward when Amy brought the fight straight to her with barely a pause. She saw a white flash swish through the air, coming straight for her left side. Reflexes kicked in, her boots planted down hard, and the roundhouse kick crashed into her tightened guard, hitting her arms with force to make her slide on the well-waxed floor. The bitch was fast, that was annoying. Speed was usually the one advantage Mako enjoyed most in a brawl.

No big thing. She'd just have to make up for it in other areas.

Mako twisted hard and shoved Amy's leg away, and instead of recoiling or moving back, she brought the fight in even closer...very close. She drove forward and tried to catch the pretty little white girl with a shoulder tackle to her stomach, trying to drive her towards the hotdog machine.

By the time Amy's leg reached Mako's body, Mako had already switched up her defense. Instead of digging into Mako's side, the kick pushed into Mako's prepared arms; instead of making Mako stumble, Amy only managed to make Mako slide some on the tile. Mako's reaction time was incredible. Damnit. Speed was her thing. Amy could adapt, but she wasn't going to be happy about it.

Mako had thrown Amy's leg violently away from her, so Amy was a bit off balance when Mako came charging in, head low, shoulder on a beeline for Amy's stomach. They collided, and Amy was on her heels the entire time that Mako pushed. Before she could topple over, a counter showed up behind, catching her right in the spine, making Amy cry out in pain and surprise. "Fuck," Amy breathed. She lifted her arms, grasped her hands together, then brought them down toward Mako's back in a retaliatory double axe hammer.

The shoulder tackle was a sloppy, harsh move, and it resulted in Mako accidently banging her head against the counter in the process - not too pleasant, but nothing she couldn't endure if it meant hurting Amy just a little bit more in the process. A smile came across her lips she heard the little bitch cry out in pain from the impact, taking her first hit of the match. Mako planned on giving her many, many more.

"Like that?" She started to get out a chuckle through her growls, but that was cut off when Amy's axe handle slammed her back and brought her down to a knee, while painful shivers ran down her spine. Not the worst blow she'd ever taken, but the fight had only just started and she was the floor in front of Amy, with her gang surrounding them. Not a good start.

"Come on, boss!"

"Get up!"

"Stomp that skinny bitch!"

"Come here!" While Mako was in this position she figured she might as well make the most of it. Throws weren't her usual style, but she might as well make the most of them while she had the rare opportunity to fight an opponent almost her size. Mako reached around Amy's waist, pulled her in tight, and tried to lift her up for a second - only a second. That was all she could do and all she had to do before she fell back, aiming to slam Amy into the floor behind her with a flapjack.

Mako scraped Amy off of the counter so that she could bring her in close- an opportunity. Amy pulled back a leg for a knee strike against Mako’s abs, but Mako had other plans. Before Amy could deliver, Mako had hoisted her up and fallen backwards. Amy fell from the top of the arc, which, admittedly, wasn’t very high at all, but high enough for her to pick up considerable speed anyway. It was an unexpected move, but not exactly surprising- after grappling with opponents much, much bigger than herself, Amy had felt the same sort of impulse in her match against Rachel Carin. Amy was looking forward to throwing Mako around some before their fight was through, too.

Amy only had time to just bring her arms up in an X in front of her to prevent her from landing on her face. The tile was harsh and cold, and it crunched her arms mercilessly. Her right forearm felt the sting of the slap- painful, but no big deal- but her left was a different story. Electric tingles ran like tiny knives up and down her arm, from her shoulder all the way down to the tips of her fingers.

Amy rolled to her back to sit up and get back to her feet, but her left elbow continued to throb. It seemed that it had heroically taken the brunt of the impact. It’d be okay in a minute or so, but, for now, her left arm hung uselessly at her side. Amy grimaced. Fuck. Not ten seconds into their fight, and already Amy was at a severe mechanical disadvantage. But it was too early to be worried. Amy might not have known what a 24/7 match was, or even that Mako’s throw had a name, but she did understand what “hardcore” meant. Maybe she ought to start incorporating that part of the match into the fight.

Mako brought Amy up high, then dropped back and brought her low with the flapjack. It wasn't the most pleasant experience for her back, dropping hard on the tiled floor, but giving Amy far worse pain made it all worth the effort. On top of that, the crowd went wild when she pulled the move off, and considering who the crowd was completely made up off, that wasn't the least bit surprising. It was nice to not hear constant booing for a change.

"You guys like that shit, huh?" She rolled to her feet, brushing the dust off her back with one hand and raising her fist to her Valkyrie's with the other, soaking in another round of cheers. Smirking all the way, she turned around saw the cute little blonde, getting up to her feet like the goody-goody hero she was trying so hard to be. Valiant. Defiant. Strong. That just wouldn't do, at all.

Mako figured it was already time she started getting some good mileage out of the nature of this match - after all, if she was allowed to use some weapons, why hold back? A nearby mop caught her attention and she immediately latched onto it, pulling it out of the bucket with the murky water still dripping. Mako charged Amy's way, reared back, and swung it sideways towards her chest. Not nearly as good as the baseball she wished she had at the moment, but it would do in a pinch.

Amy Poford vs. Makoto Takeda - 24/7 at the 7-Eleven - Page 2 Empty Re: Amy Poford vs. Makoto Takeda - 24/7 at the 7-Eleven

While Mako played to the adoring crowd of her underlings, Amy pawed blindly along the shelves nearest her- blindly, because she kept her eyes on Mako. But everything her roaming fingers traced responded with the disheartening crinkle of less-than-dangerous plastic packaging. After a moment of searching, Amy spared a quick glance down her aisle, and... yup; all snack foods. Great. Maybe she could convince Mako to eat something and hope she choked.

When she turned back front, Mako had picked up a mop, its head sopping with dirty water. Guess there just weren't any good weapons to be found in a 7-Eleven. No, wait; Mako was going with it. Amy gave Mako an exasperated look as she swung out, droplets flying every which way. "Oh, come-"

The mop hit her in the side under her arm. It wasn't painful, but it was heavy, and Amy was knocked a step to her left. More than that though, it was disgusting; Amy's nice crisp polo shirt became drenched with the filthy muck from the bucket, and Amy made a face. "Gross, dude." Amy ran at Mako, keeping the mop tucked loosely in the crook of her arm so that the wood could slide easily through. When she was close enough, she'd clench down on the handle and deliver a push kick to Mako's stomach, hoping to separate the Valkyrie from her improvised weapon.
