Battle of the Redheads: Akiko Takamiya vs. Volcanica (for k0hryuu)

Volcanica got her opponent's legs locked in and Akiko was already moving around so much. It was pretty hard to keep her there, but Volcanica would try to hold out for as long as she could. It was only another 10 seconds before she released her opponent and got back up.

Volcanica would allow Akiko some time to recover before they can continue. She didn't want to be seen as a heel, but rather as a fierce fiery brawler.

Akiko exhaled with relief as she was freed from the hold. Panting a little, she climbed back to her feet, though still a bit shaky from the pain in her legs. While grateful she was given the chance to recover, she was still having a difficult time getting a good read on her stoic foe. Falling back into her fighting stance. Akiko performed a challenging gesture, indicating she was ready to continue the fight.

Volcanica would watch as Akiko was getting back up. Judging by that interesting gesture, she is ready to continue their match. With her hands behind her back, Volcanica would finally speak. "Very impressive. Not many girls can keep up with me in the first few moments of the match." Her voice indicated that she's really British and she seems to be talking in a delicate and polite fashion.

With that, she would rush back in and attempted to go for a straight kick to the face.

Akiko was surprised when Volcanica finally spoke, as her voice sounded much different that what she expected.

"Oh...? I guess you do speak." Akiko gave a small, humorous smirk, preparing herself for her opponent's next attack. A bit more on guard now, she was able to narrowly duck under Volcanica's kick attempt. Attempting a quick counter, she kicked out at Volcanica's grounded leg, hoping to throw her off-balance.

Volcanica would silently curse herself for missing her kick. She had calculated that the hit would bring a lot of damage, but at the same time, it could be missed with the right timing. And the right timing Akiko had as she ducked under the kick. In almost no time at all, Volcanica would feel her other leg being kicked out and it caused her to grunt in pain.

She would fall down to the mat and she tried to scramble back while holding that kicked out leg with one arm only, making her scrambling not as fast with two arms.

Quite pleased her counter landed, Akiko sprung back up while Volcanica went tumbling down. Her fellow-redheaded foe started to retreat, but Akiko wanted to push her advantage while she could. Trying to grab Volcanica's outstretched leg, she attempted to pull her in to a basic ankle lock.

"AAAARRRGH!!" Volcanica cried out as her leg was grabbed and ankle twisted in Akiko's ankle lock. She would pound the mat with one fist to try and resist the pain, but she was stuck in a tight position as of now. She can't let her own fire be doused out this soon, she had to keep fighting!

So, Volcanica attempted to use her other leg to kick Akiko away or better yet kick Akiko's grip from her twisted leg. If this worked, she would continue to scramble until she would grab the ropes and recover for a bit.

Her ankle lock having visible effect, Akiko smirked a bit. No matter how tough of a fighter you were, some things just hurt.

Another thing that hurt, though, was Volcanica's powerful kicks,as they slammed into her torso. Crying out, Akiko was forced to release her hold rolling away. Panting heavily, she got into a kneeling position, trying to catch her breath.

Volcanica would maintain her hold on the ropes after successfully kicking Akiko away and scrambling to the closest side. She would breathe in and out heavily to try and fight her thoughts of the pain and relieve her ankle. After at least 10 seconds, she tried to stand up straight as she looked over to Akiko and said, "I gotta admit, mate, I didn't suspect to meet another redhead to be as fierce and fiery as meself. At last, I might have found my equal."

Once she stands up, Volcanica would return to her fighting stance and went back to the center to confront Akiko.

Akiko smiled at bit at Volcanica's somewhat indirect compliment, even if it was a bit... overdramatic. Rising back up to her feet, Akiko would assume her fighting stance as well.

"Hey, no need to act so serious... We're still just getting started here." Akiko smirked. Intent on striking first, she opened with another quick low kick, trying to aim for the same leg she got in the ankle lock earlier.
