Yes Lunar, Red is supposed to have a Venusaur, and GREEN (not "Blue") is supposed to have a Charizard, while BLUE is supposed to have a Blastoise. I suppose they decided for the special (sadly not a new anime), they decided to match the names of the characters with the type that matches their color.

All that being said...FINALLY no Ash in this universe.

that ending....THAT ENDING o.o Who is that standing across from Blaziken. It looks like a Shiny Lucario, but his shiny sprite doesn't have as much not Blue on it. Whether the shiny sprite is meant to be yellow or white fur is also up for question.

The Red from Pokemon Special, yes.

There's like, a half dozen different characters named Red though. This is a brand new incarnation of him, so he's getting Charmander this time.
