LEAGUE: Cherise Campbell vs Nathan Weed (complete)

Realizing she couldn't keep the hold and stay in a favorable position when he started pushing her, she would release him and quickly roll away, getting to her knees. She was breathing hard, and her legs were trembling a bit. She didn't want to see if she could stand after being in that grapevine for so long.

Nathan was instantly relieved when Cherise let go of him. As Cherise rolled away, Nathan took a couple of seconds to relish his freedom. Then Nathan copied Cherise and took to his knees, equally exhausted. "What was that hold called?" Nathan asked between heavy breaths, rubbing his neck. "It was terrifying."

Cherise would grin, shaking her head. "I don't know. I think it was one of the karate holds my brothers taught me." She was glad for the momentary breather, yet she knew they'd have to get back to it shortly. "There are worse holds than that though."

Nathan grinned back and held up a hand. "Don't show me, I'll take your word for it. You're kind of scary, you know that?"

Nathan stopped massaging his neck. Still on his knees, he brought his arms forward in a grapple position. "Ready?"

Cherise was rather wary about accepting the grapple. After all, he likely had a clear strength advantage over her. But she'd move forward to lock up with him, nodding her head. "Ready. And...go!" Once she said go, she'd start to push. WIth both of them on their knees, it was rather hard to brace against the ground, and she was finding her knees were sliding against the wet grass.

Nathan would let Cherise push for a moment, letting her knees get further behind her center of gravity, then he would pull her in, wrapping his arms under her arms and around her back for a bear hug.

If he gets her in the hug, he'll throw himself to the side and try to get body scissors on her before she gets them on him.

Cherise had been thinking of a way to gain the advantage here when Nathan made his move first. She'd let out a cry as she was caught in the bear hug, pressing her hands on his shoulders. When they landed on the ground, she'd try to bring her legs into play. But once more he beat her to it, and she'd wince as he had her in a bear hug body scissor combination. She'd still push against him, trying to roll them so she was on top. She didn't want him to end up on top of her, because then she would most definately be trapped.

Even though Cherise pushed and managed to secure the top position, Nathan rejoiced. With the scissors and bear hug in place, for the first time in the match, Nathan felt safe and in control. He gave a triumphant squeeze to both his holds, his sudden security giving him enthusiasm beyond his fatigue.

Cherise would reach back, trying to grab ahold of his legs. She wanted to try and get him to let go. Sure she could have started punching him. But she didn't want to fight dirty like that. So instead she simply endured the hold while trying to break his grip, wincing a bit as the pressure increased. "Let...go..."

Nathan felt his opponent's hands grasp feebly at his scissors, and he squeezed again. Then he heard, just barely, Cherise say quietly, "Let...go..."

Nathan froze, then closed his eyes. He didn't let go, though he certainly wanted to. But he did reduce some of the pressure on Cherise. However, he disguised his compassion with a gruff, "Only if you submit."
