The Mothman Empty The Mothman

Post by Titanosaurus Tue Dec 27, 2011 8:57 am

Name: ??? (Refers to his wrestling title.)

Wrestler Name: The Mothman

Age: Unknown

Height: 7'2"

Weight: 210 lb.

Eyes: Red

Hair: N/A

Skin Color: Gray (Not shown in image.)

Nationality: Unknown

Entrance Theme: [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bu4h8OJ9vyY:nw91gr4f]Mother 2 Soundtrack - Unused Track (Cave)[/url:nw91gr4f]

Fighting Style: No specific classification.

Personality: Varied in terms of social ability. Mothman can be a bit shy or even anti-social at times. In the ring, he isn't as sheepish. Mothman has also been known to let his curiosity get the better of him.

Abilities/Techniques
Tentacles: Beneath Mothman's wings lie numerous tentacles. These extensions are flexible (and strong) enough to lift a grown man off of his feet. They are also effective for squeezing and can even be used as whips. A weirder fact about these tentacles is that they also act as Mothman's genetalia. If a tentacle is removed or destroyed, it will be replaced with a new one in several weeks. But try not to do that. It only pisses him off... (Tentacles cannot be used in flight.)

Flight: Even with a 10-foot wingspan, Mothman is capable of flying at speeds that exceed 100 mph. Scientists marvel at this feat, because a 10-foot wingspan should not be enough to lift the average person into the air. But then again, Mothman is not a typical entity. Mothman will rarely exceed 40 mph, however. He would either need to be determined to catch something or be in serious danger to fly faster than that.

Hyper Cry: Mothman can emit loud shrieking sounds that disorient his opponent. If it's loud enough, it can cause blood to drip from the ear(s). He will use this if the rules allow.

Signature Moves
Aerial Ram: With a quick burst in speed, Mothman flies into his foe.

Face Mop: Mothman slams his opponent's head face down on the mat and "wipes" the mat with his/her face. The friction created by this technique is equal to suffering a carpet burn.

Flatten: Mothman hovers several feet off the ground and lands on his downed opponent with his feet.

Finishers
Chokehold: Shows a display of dominance by wrapping his hand around the opponent's throat. He tries not to break anything.

Tender Tendrils: Fondles an incapacitated foe with his tentacles in an attempt to make him/her cum.

Death Grip: Gives a mighty squeeze with his tentacles to force a submission or deprive his opponent of precious oxygen.

Ass Whipping: Just as the name implies, Mothman literally gives his opponent multiple lashes on the buttocks with his tentacles. He doesn't hold back either.

Interesting Facts: Can understand languages quickly, but is unable to utter words; despite what his name suggests, he bears no resemblance to a moth at all; he tries to stay away from bright lights; his moniker was given to him after the Batman comic book villain "Killer Moth"; has a mouth, but no lips.

Rumors
- A similar creature was seen in the US in the 1960s, around western West Virginia and southern Ohio. Many believe that this specimen is the same Mothman that terrorized several Appalachian communities. Despite his comprehension skills, he cannot answer any questions pertaining to the matter for whatever reason. Perhaps he is keeping this a secret?
- It is speculated that Mothman is a harbinger of imminent tragedy. Nothing bad has happened to the people of Japan for that matter, so it is most likely a myth.

Wrestling Information

Strategy: He can't say, so this is not known.

Preferred Attacks: He will use any part of his body to inflict damage. His body is his preferred weapon of choice.

Appearance

The Mothman Gib_mothman.jpg

------------------------------

History: Little is known about this bizarre creature. He lately appeared in Japan and revealed his existence to the world merely by sleeping in a tree at Tokyo's Ueno Koen Park. He may have assumed that the park was vacant after a long night's trip, but this is just an assumption without any foundation. Many Japanese view him as being a demon, but in reality he was once fully human. DNA tests were taken soon after his capture, and the results determined that he carried human genetic material, and also determined that he was indeed a male. Mothman is a genetically mutated human being. However, DNA testing could not determine how he ended up this way. Theories range from illegal experimentation to extraterrestrial involvement. The true cause of his current state is unsolved, and may never be solved.

The Japanese government wanted nothing to do with the creature, so they allowed the zoo in Ueno Koen to keep him as a tourist attraction. This of course led to protests from animal-rights activists and superstitious citizens. It was during this time that Mothman went through a deep depression. He was held captive in a small room, unable to fly and thrive like he felt he was supposed to. The AFW showed interest in Mothman for financial reasons. Mothman's recent popularity could have meant business for a money-starved Fur & Feathers division that lacked any recent activity. The AFW had to go through a lot of hell just to acquire legal rights for him to join their federation. Coupled with months of combat evaluation, it was a taxing process that any other organization would never want to bother with.

Eventually matters were settled and he was verified for admission to the AFW. To allow a safe and easy transportation, Mothman's admission was not announced to the public or league fighters until the move had already been completed. In his current lifestyle, Mothman is no longer depressed. The winged humanoid is no longer being kept in a tiny room, but is allowed to stay in a wildlife reservation at an undisclosed location. His schedule is freed up, meaning that he has more time to perform rudimentary functions.

The Mothman Empty Re: The Mothman

Post by Titanosaurus Tue Dec 27, 2011 9:00 am

I feel that it is necessary for me to explain how and why I created this character. The Mothman is loosely modeled after a monster that allegedly haunted a town named Point Pleasant in the state of West Virginia (which is located in the U.S., for those who are unfamiliar with this). In 1966, a group of young adults were driving around the outskirts of town; it was late at night. They drove along a path that led to a place that locals refer to as the "TNT Area." (It was used as an ammunition storage facility during WWII. The property was left unused after the war ended.)

There, they encountered a winged, red-eyed "man" that stood six or seven feet tall. No specific details could be made out because it was so dark. Its eyes also glowed. One of the eyewitnesses stated that they could not make out any facial features (if it even had a head) because the eyes were so hypnotizing and bright. The witnesses took off when it approached the vehicle; it flew after them. A car chase ensued. At one point, the creature allegedly kept up with them at speeds that were over 100 mph. It stopped pursuing them just before they reached Point Pleasant. The group reported the incident to the police, and thus began the legacy of "Mothman."

More than 100 sightings were reported in one year. According to some people, the final sighting occurred on December 15, 1967. The monster was seen flying over the Ohio River. The Silver Bridge which connected Point Pleasant, West Virginia with Gallipolis, Ohio, collapsed on that day, claiming more than forty lives. Mothman sightings suddenly stopped after the tragedy, leading some to suspect that the entity was an omen. Mothman has been seen around the world, but no sightings have taken place in Point Pleasant since then.

That's a condensed version of the Mothman legacy. I was inspired to make a character that follows the eyewitness descriptions while making it appropriate for the AFW. There is a lot of information to filter through when you research the events that transpired between 1966 and 1967 in the area. For that reason, I'll explain some aspects of the mysterious creature that I included in his character bio. Also, I will explain some things I left out, and why some of the powers/abilities I gave to Mothman were implemented.

- In reality, the Mothman was named after Batman character Killer Moth. During the mid-1960s, the franchise was popular at the time thanks to the live action television show starring Adam West.

- The Mothman is usually referenced as a "he" by the people who refer to him. For simplicity's sake, I made Mothman a male.

- In several eyewitness reports, Mothman was described as being muscular. So I obviously liked the thought of making my Mothman buff too.

- I didn't want Mothman to have the genitals of a typical male. To get around this, I gave him tentacles (a guilty pleasure of mine). I also chose to implement these tentacles as weapons. Of course, tentacles were not involved in any of the eyewitness reports.

- I originally wanted Mothman to project lasers from his eyes, but I felt that he was already overpowered. Adding this would have been overkill.

- As stated before, Mothman was supposedly able to fly at speeds that exceeded 100 mph. I decided to keep that for my character due to reasons I can't remember myself. If I could go back and change that, I would. It's nonsensical for a creature of Mothman's weight and size to be that fast.

- Eyewitnesses described Mothman's cries as being horrible screeches. My character makes those sounds, and more.

- The Mothman's moniker is ironic. The actual creature allegedly despised bright lights. That aspect was implemented with my character.

- I decided not to make Mothman a bringer of disaster as so many people believe. I made him for the purpose of wrestling.
