Raw strength vs Inner Strength

Amy steps into the gym once more, stretching her arms up over her head, and walks towards one of the weight machines. She did this almost every day so that her body stayed fit and strong. She sat herself down on one of them, and adjusted the weights to be moderately heavy, but nothing too large. She didn't want big bulgy muscles, she wanted a smooth, toned body. She starts to work the machine once she adjusts the weights just right, and starts to focus on her breathing while doing repetitions on the machine.

Yi was also in the gym working out. After her defeat the other day, she felt that to be up to par with the other women of the Friction she'd need to get herself into a new shape. The woman also needed information, something she could wield like a knife in a match to cut through an opponent's defenses by targeting their weakest points. In this she was not only working out in the gym, but also stalking. Today's focus was the woman Amy. After Yi's humiliating defeat against Nikolette Tessla, Yi knew approximately where she would need to situate herself in the league to offer the most challenge. Afterall, it's not wise to try and tackle giants without first knowing how to use a sling.

Yi had already taken some time to figure out Amy's routine, repetition with weights on a machine. Yi had found a good spot to run on a treadmill while Amy worked on the current machine, and could move to a rowing machine to watch Amy's other favorite spots.

Recently, Amy had been feeling like she was being watched. As she did repetitions, she looked behind her and saw a black pigtailed hair girl watching her. She stared at her curiously, and set down her weights, frowning a little. "Why are you watching me?" She asked.

She did not immediately speak when she was addressed, though once caught her magma red eyes did not avert from their target. The historian still wore the coveralls she often wore to matches, as anything she would fight, theoretically she should likewise need to train in. Her hand depressed the button to make her longstrided run to turn more into a simple walk.

"You're a lovely and powerful woman... why wouldn't I be watching you?" she queried serenely. Now walking and being watched she fought to control her own breathing, and not slump into the equipment heaving.

Amy blinked at the sudden flattery, and felt like something was up. "That's kind of an odd response. I won't say it isn't true, but I've never had a stranger just come up to me and compliment me like that without having an ulterior motive." She commented.

A pleasant smile pulled the corners of her mouth as she looked over Amy, "You may rest assured that you still haven't. I haven't come up to you." She finally turned the treadmill off and came to a stop. "Why would it matter if I am watching you?" Yi pushed further, wondering how much of what was going on Amy had considered. "What are the usual ulterior motives for someone who compliments you, seemingly out of the blue."

Off the treadmill she stepped to slowly stalk over towards the gymnast and her machine weights. After running on the treadmill, Yi felt as though she was gliding along the ground with extreme ease.

"They normally want something from me." She said, watching her as she stepped closer towards her. "Like money or a ride." She added. "And it's a little difficult concentrating when you're staring at me like that."

So, being watched made it difficult for her to concentrate? Strange that she could stand in front of an audience of thousands, as well as possibly posterity, but couldn't handle just one person watching her in the gym. The historian found this extremely interesting. "Then it seems, I must explain why I am here, but you'll be disappointed. It's the same reason you are here, I'm here to fight. On the practice mats to be specific," she jerked a towards them as though there were a question as to what she was talking about.

Amy raised an eyebrow at that. "You want a match? With me?" She asked, and looked at her for a moment. "Er.. no offense, but I'd probably crush you.." She stated.

"Your fear is justified. Fighting an unknown enemy is always an incredibly daunting task. But, isn't your attempt to maintain honor while declining the challenge by citing my likely lack of strength is a bit cliche'?" She shrugged nonchalantly, and turned her back upon Amy and begin to walk away. "I've already spoken circles around you, I suppose there is no need for me to further prove my point by defeating you on a practice mat as well." The historian certainly had confidence in herself, that much was evident.

"I'm sure your next offer for an opponent will be more around your level."
