The crowd had been swaying in Eka’s favor, always quick to get behind a plucky young hero, but when Vanessa pulled the facebuster out of nowhere and laid the Georgia out in a heartbeat, she was the one who got the loud pop. For good reason, too - she’d laid her foe out in short order.

”Sorry, honeybunch.” Vanessa rolled to her knees as Eka dealt with the pain - Vanessa knew better than most how head trauma could add up after a while, and she was showing the clear effects.

As much as she felt for the younger wrestler, this was an opportunity she refused to pass up. Vanessa crawled over, lifted Eka’s legs up, stuck her head between them and pushed forward, trying to pin her with the rollup.

The lights high above her were vague, and seemed to be more like 16, rather than the usual 4. Eka blinked. That halved their number, but Eka knew that something was still wrong. She had stopped rolling, and tried to gather herself. Had it only been one knee to the head, one jab, one something, Eka probably would have been fine. The Georgian girl had taken bigger bumps from bigger girls. But the cumulative effect all of them had made it so difficult for her to get up on her feet, and get back into the fight.

And then there was another impediment to her getting back into it. Vanessa was right there on her, rolling her up for the pin. This particular pin was a bit of a tricky one, to boot. The Georgian girl should not have been as surprised as she was, but this was the situation. And Eka was going to have to deal with it. Like it or not.

ONE!

Eka breathed in. Ok, Vanessa was a big woman, but she was not that big. Eka still had something left in the tank. But she needed to concentrate it, boil it down to the fundamental level, and make herself explode. The Georgian girl waited, cautiously, carefully, trying to make sure the timing was just right.

TWO!

Do or die. Now or never. Eka brought all of her youthful energy to bear, and exploded out of the pin, pushing the redhead away with all of the power she could bring up. To ensure her safety, the Georgian girl promptly rolled away and got herself up as quickly as she possibly could.

As Vanessa attempted to pin Eka, she could get a feel for just how powerful her foe was, run her hands over those strong, sinuous thighs and see her iron abs up close and personal. This woman was strong. Deceptively strong. Along with her clear background and skillset, she was having a hard time wondering why she hadn’t heard the name Eka Guramishvili more often, aside from the issue people probably had pronouncing it.

It made her all the more eager to end this match, before the Georgian had a chance to hit her stride again, and all the more disappointed when she managed to kick out.

”Shit.” She spat off to the side and huffed, watching Eka roll away. Her options were starting to dwindle - just punching this woman into submission was simply not going to be enough, that was clear.

She reached over and tugged at Eka’s arm, getting her to stand up whether she liked it or not. As soon as she rose all the way, Vanessa sent her off with an Irish Whip to the farthest corner, hoping to put some distance between them, enough room to build up some real momentum.

Eka was up, on her two feet. It was of her own volition, but not entirely of her own design. Vanessa helped her, in the loosest sense of the word, and immediately sent the Georgian girl off packing to the ropes. With Eka's long strides and the relatively short distance between them in the ropes, Eka hit the ropes in short order. She managed to turn in time so that her back hit, and not her front, but still, it was no fun.

The Georgian girl rested. Her head was slumped, but her blue eyes were forward. She was looking dead at the redhead in front of her, trying to look into a crystal ball to see what would happen next. The crowd was picking up. They had cheered for her for most of the match, but now it looked like they were cheering both fighters on. It did not really bother her one way or the other, but Eka was going to do her best not to disappoint them.

The moment Vanessa let Eka go, she went off running...in the other direction. As if she’d been Irish Whipped herself, she twisted about and let her back smack against the turnbuckle, almost at the exact same time as the Georgian did the same, placing them opposite ends and giving her the maximum amount of space to work with. Vanessa gripped the ropes tight and leaned forward, revving herself up for a moment, before she took off in a mad dash across the ring.

She wasn’t an Olympic runner or anything, but Vanessa had long, lean legs that could pick up some serious speed over short distances. She crossed the ring in no time flat, zeroing in hard on Eka in a flash. She waited until the last possible moment, then leaped into the air as she spun her body around in a half-circle, hoping to crash into her opponent’s chest with her back and all of her body weight behind it.

Vanessa was on the other side of ring now. Eka watched, and waited. She was still slumping against the turnbuckle. Her head turned to her arm. The fancy Georgian script that she had written early was now a smudged wreck of a message. The word could still be made out, but it took a little bit of effort. Eka turned her focus back Vanessa. She was sprinting across the ring now, and she was coming in hot. The cross of St. George that the makeup guy painted on her face was once so sharp, so neat. Now it was all smeared, leaving a trail of red down the side of her face.

As if she had been cut. The Georgian girl saw the British woman coming still, and made the slightest move off the turnbuckle. It wasn't much, but there were a few who might see the point of it. Eka tried to ensure that she was no longer touching it, so she was not hampered should she want to move quickly.

Because she did very much want to move quickly. The second Vanessa pivoted on her foot to jump into the air, Eka hit the ground. She pulled her legs backwards so not even her knees would slow her down on the way to the canvas. After hitting the white expanse, she did a quick roll forward that Vanessa not land on top of her when she came down.

Vanessa wasn’t stupid, despite what her mother-in-law often thought. She realized that she was taking a big risk, telegraphing her move so much, setting it up, practically advertising what she had in mind. Eka was stunned, but she wasn’t comatose, and she’d have to be particularly stupid to not see what was coming her way. It was just a matter of whether or not she’d be able to do anything about it.

So it was risky. But even so, Vanessa figured that, as she jumped towards her, it would be too late for Eka to do anything about it. No counter, no dodge, no anything. It was sold and delivered.

To her great surprise, Eka managed to avoid the attack. Vanessa had no idea how she did that, but she must have, because her back didn’t crash into a soft Georgian body, but a hard, unforgiving turnbuckle instead.

That was where she stayed for the moment, gritting her teeth and wincing as she leaned against the corner, trying to piece together what just happened .

Eka was on the ground for one split second. She rolled forward, stood up, and turned back. There Vanessa was. Eka was a little bit surprised. She wasn't sure if she expected the redhead to phase through the turnbuckle, or power through the blow, or use the move as a feint to start throwing more punches, but Eka could not quite believe that her opponent was there, slumped against the turnbuckle. The Georgian girl shook her incredulity away, and advanced on the redhead.

The corner was no place for a submission wrestler like herself. It led to easy ropebreaks, which in turn led to frustration, and that led to losing matches. Eka had dealt with quite enough of that, so when she grabbed Vanessa, it was very much with the intention of moving her from her position The raven haired girl did it in spectacular fashion, seizing her opponent's shoulders and launching herself back. Eka shot her legs up, trying to catch Vanessa right in the stomach. Monkey flip, the move was called. It was a funny name, she thought.

And here she came.

Vanessa knew what she’d have done in this situation: punched the shit out of her opponent until she couldn’t see straight, or until the referee made her stop, whichever came first. Sure, that was ostensibly against the rules, but referee’s were always kind of lenient about that sort of thing, in her experience.

Eka, however, seemed to be made of different stuff. Vanessa started to cover up as her opponent moved in, acting on reflex, but she needn’t have bothered in truth.

”What-” Before Vanessa could even properly express her confusion, she was sent up and over as Eka yanked her back, pushing her stomach up with her legs as  she did. The monkey flip locked her into an involuntary somersault, one that ended with her flopping on her back. Didn’t hurt all that much, but definitely more disoriented than she had been just a second ago.

Eka moved quickly. The usually solid girl was liquid, flowing forward straight at her opponent, not wasting even a second. She got on the ground, with her hips dangerously close to Vanessa's pretty face. Her legs moved like the inner workings of the finest Swiss clock, and soon she was attempting to secure a figure four face lock, with her front towards the redhead. The Georgian girl felt her heart pounding as she worked, hoping that the monkey flip was enough to let her work in peace.

"It is not so nice to call me honeybunch, yes? I was respectful to you..." Should Eka get the hold in, she would crank it. She held her fulcrum leg with her hand, just to apply that last added bit of pressure.

Eka closed her eyes again. She was feeling Vanessa out, trying to see what sort of tricks she could pull to pull out of this one. The Georgian girl felt like one of those people who put their ears to the grind, to try and detect when the buffalo were approaching. Or more appropriately, a spider, on her web, feeling for tension in her web.
