Strategy: To settle some disputes for good, Sae understands it will mean stepping into the ring from time to time, and mercy isn’t a luxury she’s willing to afford. Every punch is calculated and no movement is wasted. Sae represents the strength of the company and is there to make a statement. She’s a dirty boxer at her core, combining hard punches with unorthodox holds and close grapples, freely mixing in cheap shots and low blows where she can. She uses her formidable striking power to target limbs and bully her opponents.into awkward positions. When she sees a place to do so, she’ll get more hands-on and start throwing her opponents around, slamming them into any spots that’ll deal plenty of damage as she works with the environment around her. Anyone that comes in expecting a clean fight just because she’s on the company payroll is bound to be disappointed.
Type: Powerhouse Striker
Style: Vale Tudo / Street Fighting
Signature Moves:
Flowing Kagura - A spinning back kick, utilizing precise footwork and intense core strength to send her opponent into a flying spiral once the blow connects with their lower jaw. Good for making distance or sending them into debris.
- In Action:
Mixed Mind Rush - Sae dashes to her opponent and, grabbing onto both their shoulders, throws both her knees back before shooting them forward into the center of their face.
- In Action:
Finishing Moves:
Majestic Spike - Sae lifts an injured open up on the edge of the ring, dangling them upside down. She then leaps sideways off the end and bring her foe down with a brainbuster, crashing their head on the hardened edge of the ring while she falls to the floor. She can also do this onto tables, garbage cans, car roofs, anywhere that’s hard and unpleasant.
- In Action:
Vermilion Crash - Coming up behind her opponent, Sae grabs their arms and pulls them over her shoulders as she twists the opponent to face the ground with their head dug into her back. She’ll then drop to the floor, smashing them face-first into the surface.
- In Action:
Takamagahara - Puting her opponent’s arm around her neck, Sae lifts them up and flips them midair, exposing their back before she pulls them down crashing onto her knees. From this position, she can go in to secure the next lock. Bracing her opponent against her knees, Sae torques their neck and amplifies the fresh, stabbing pain in their back. The move thus reaches its ultimate form with an excruciating Bow and Arrow hold.

Physical Stats
Endurance: ★★★★☆
- Details:
- Never a stranger to being between a rock and a hard place, Sae’s built up some serious resistance throughout her career. Her solid, if unassuming body can take the worst of the promotion and then some.
- Details:
- Though she doesn't look particularly heavy, her strikes carry a surprising amount of weight and power. Lifting above her body weight comes as natural as a morning jog.
- Details:
- Quick with her hands and good on the run, as every agent should be.
- Details:
- Can hold her own if need be, but just as careful to not let herself get trapped for too long.
- Details:
- A reliable mix of MMA-style strikes and submissions, tainted by countless underground scraps to make for a punishing arsenal.
Wrestling Stats
Strikes: ★★★★☆
- Details:
- Speed and strength that few can rival. Her punches are more than capable of disabling any kind of opponent and her kicks are surprisingly well-versed.
- Details:
- Limited on this front. Situational takedowns and quick armbars are about all she can manage and so far all she’s needed.
- Details:
- A big part of her style is grabbing onto others and pulling, pushing, or throwing them around into compromising positions or just about anything that will hurt.
- Details:
- Leaves that for the talent.
- Details:
- Foxy and quick enough to catch mistakes when they happen, but mainly the straightforward stuff.

Characteristics

Personality: There was a time when Sae was considered something of an eccentric. A headstrong woman ready to take on the world and back. One too many mistakes from that life have put a cold, iron exterior around that daring spirit.
Determined, professional, focused, there are few things that Sae lets slip her notice or get through her skin. Her pragmatic way of dealing with issues and drill sergeant-like conduct can make others question her capacity for empathy or humor. She simply takes her job seriously, having a fairly low tolerance for irresponsibility and laziness, though her respect for seniority can see her begrudgingly oblige these qualities almost as often as she would rebuke them. She has no issue taking care of anyone that gets in the way of it. A woman of action, her preference for dealing with problems personally often subverts her need to rely on other people. While she feels no particular connection to the men and women of AFW, there’s surprisingly little she’d be unwilling to do for them.
Beyond the space of her office, she’s a noticeably more approachable woman. Though rather cool and aloof, it isn’t impossible for her to separate her life from her work. Her seriousness abates and she allows the more good-natured side of herself to flow free. People that only know her through brief exchanges are often surprised to see her genuinely enjoying herself. She isn’t as young as she used to be, however, and keeps in mind not to get carried away while humoring herself.

Background
______________________________________
Initially, under the employ of the National Police Agency, Sae found her stride as a remarkably young recruit. Crime had taken her parents at a young age and she’d sought to pursue her justice. Her dedication to her training as a beat cop was only matched by her headstrong conviction to seeing the law upheld. She served temporarily in Special Assault on several raids before her skills of deduction and ability to perform under pressure were concluded to be better served elsewhere. Her transfer to the Public Security Bureau came highly recommended.
Undercover work suited her well. Henceforth known as “Owl”, Sae’s aptitude threw her into one deep cover operation after the next. More often than not going in alone, her line of work exposed the worst of the underworld into the daylight. The circumstances were always dire, where one misstep, one wrong look could lead to her capture, or worse. Though it seemed like no matter the pressure, Owl could always pull herself through and never failed to close a case. Her efforts single-handedly saved the bureau from a national scandal on more than one occasion. She quickly made a name for herself as their most valuable field agent and dared to throw her deeper into the gauntlet.
On her sixth operation, things became a little dicey. She was after the head of a major crime syndicate organizing illegal fights. These fights doubled as a front for mass cycling of narcotics, weapons, and other contraband the NPA was having more trouble than usual keeping under wraps. Sae was charged with bringing it down by cutting the head off the snake. The trouble was that the leader didn’t intend on revealing himself until the winner had been decided, to them and only to them. The bureau mulled over several ways of going about it, but only the obvious one held the greatest chance of success: Owl would fight her way to the top.
In spite of the odds stacked against her, Sae was no stranger to a fight. A few unsanctioned brawls against cut-rate thugs wouldn’t have meant anything. That was the intelligence she had been given, at least. Then the rules were declared: Vale Tudo. An odious precursor to mixed martial arts, the tournament drew a host of high-level talent from every corner of the underworld eager to compete. Ex-professionals kicked out for conduct unbecoming, criminal elements and even assassins bred to kill their entire lives. And Sae would have to beat them all.
Her victory over starkly suicidal odds took a miracle in the form of a single, unremarkable man. The one that played no small part in her success; their informant, Takeo. Working from the inside, he tipped off the PSB on the entire operation and worked closely with the woman they decided to send in. He kept her out of the hard matches and did his best to ensure fights didn’t go further than they needed to. When her cover was nearly compromised, he threw himself in the line of fire by planting false evidence his way and ultimately earning himself a heap of new scars. His subversive humor, impressive resolution, and moments of tenderness helped Sae keep her head and eventually come out on top of the tournament with few injuries and a clean arrest.
When it was all over, the two continued to see each other on and off for the next few months. What was once an obligatory friendship forged by dire circumstances quickly gave way to something more intimate. She helped in getting his criminal record expunged and the two could finally see one another freely. In the warm evenings of the Tokyo summer, he managed to show Sae a side of herself that even she hadn’t realized existed. A weakness, but a weakness that was okay to have. Her fires seemed to waver in his presence. When he finally asked the question, her response was no surprise to either of them.
Their union had lasted a little over two years before their first child was on the way. Sae held the baby in her arms and, exhausted, she fell asleep as they waited for her father to arrive. He never did. Takeo died on his way to the hospital. What was fronted as a typical hit-and-run was quickly revealed to be a coordinated blitz attack. Retribution from his old colleagues, one fitting for a rat.
With a family anchoring her down, going back into fieldwork wasn’t an option for Sae. Her new position stuck her behind a supervisory desk sifting through piles of reports and recommendations, and her reward for such distinguished performance over the years was the opportunity to stay behind that desk until she was too old to lift a pencil. But being even remotely attached to the bureau only brought horrid memories and sickness in her stomach. She eventually left the agency, unsure of how she would make ends meet.
Her saving grace came in an offer from one of the leading biomedical research companies in Japan, the Tenmu Corporation. Numerous break-ins and tens of thousands of dollars lost in equipment and data had left the company on edge, Tenmu began to suspect foul play from their less than conspicuous rivals. They sought to replace their otherwise indecisive Security Chief with someone more...practical. The offer appealed, even if it screamed of desperation. It was clear they were taking a risk with Sae, yet were more than happy to give her the chance to prove herself.
Her results did not disappoint. Calling upon her list of underground contacts as the Owl, she had little trouble uncovering the middlemen used for the attacks on Tenmu. When she finally found evidence linking the various organizations to the break-ins, their rivals disappeared all at once. Her revitalized security system sealed any potential cracks, letting Tenmu continued its operations without incident. Her position was made permanent and she stayed on their payroll for the next few years.
What was cause for celebration amongst her employers was less celebrated between her colleagues. A woman just suddenly entering into a higher position, currying favor with the same men they'd been trying to impress for years, was unacceptable. To rectify this abhorrent favoritism, they procured a sensitive piece of information trusted to Sae alone and promptly leaked it to media outlets. Information regarding their most valuable experiment: the Vermillion Project. Not a day later, unrefined samples were discovered to have made their way out into the black market and were circulating the underground. The leak was a PR nightmare and caused a massive scare amongst their investors. Several pulled out altogether, the project was delayed indefinitely, and Sae had no choice but to take the fall.
Relieved of her position but not from the media, the former agent was left with few roads to venture. She brainstormed often at her favorite barstool, but found it hard to get much thinking done between the tab she'd been running up and the press lurking around every corner.
That was when someone sat in the stool beside her. A slim man with a freshly pressed suit, and a warm smile nearly as fake as his watch. He wasted no time with his proposal, pointing out straight away that he was with AFW, and Sae decided almost as quickly that he was going to shoot him down. She was familiar by reputation, besides the occasional report that crossed her desk. Being strapped for cash was hard, but life as an AFW pro-wrestler seemed to be an entirely new problem all its own.
Except he wasn’t scouting talent. The man slid a letter across the mahogany and Sae read the single word signed across its face.
