SHARK BAIT: Mako Adachi vs Blaise Cameron Empty SHARK BAIT: Mako Adachi vs Blaise Cameron

Standard Match: Win by pinfall, submission, or count out

Mako "The Shark" Adachi:
VS
Blaise Cameron :

Mako was excited for the first match of her career. Even now in the locker room while getting into her attire, she could hear the crowd cheer faintly. "God this was going to be great" she thought to herself as she messed with her black and blond hair. All her life she had been looking for fights, and now she had a career where she could face off against skilled opponents. This whole thing sounded like a dream honestly. But it was real, and Mako was going to show the crowd what she could do tonight as she headed out to make her entrance.

The crowd was talkative as they waited for the competitors, not that they would wait long though. Soon the speakers came alive as the music screamed SHARK ATTACK! WARNING! WARNING! Soon Mako came out from the entrance in her black sports bra and shorts. Wearing similarly colored leg guards as well, she ran out clapping the hands of the audience members as she went by. Making her way to the ring, Mako would grab the ropes to pull herself up, and go through the middle ropes.

Clearly excited, Mako would jump up into the corner throwing her fists into the air shouting "WOO-HOO! Lets get this fight started!". This was going to be a great experience she thought to herself as the crowed cheered for her. Then getting down from the ropes, Mako would head to her corner and wait for her opponent.

SHARK BAIT: Mako Adachi vs Blaise Cameron Empty Re: SHARK BAIT: Mako Adachi vs Blaise Cameron

Ohhh, boy. A fresh match against a fresh opponent! It's exciting! Blaise has no clue who she is or what she's like, other than her name might be a vague reference to Final Fantasy. If she has blue eyes, all bets are off, and jokes will be made. Oh man, he hopes she has blue eyes!

Her music hits the stadium, and Blaise pauses in his little nook and tilts his head, focusing on the track. Now that's an interesting choice. Shark attacks? Wha? And then, memories of the greatest, most educational-meets-metal annual event comes to mind; Mako. She's a shark-themed wrestler!

Thanks, Shark Week!

That's so cool. Blaise has little time to appreciate it, however, as he's quickly ushered to his position behind the curtain. He bobs anxiously on the balls of his feet, awaiting his opportunity to electrify the crowd. And in short order, the vocal cue to Wayward Son kicks in. He waits for that first electric guitar riff, and as soon as it does? He thrusts himself into the open arena! Arms lift, fingers splayed, bright smile worn and eyes lidded over as he basks in the... mixed... reaction... from the audience.

Oh, it's awkward alright. Blaise hasn't performed well in Tension. He has an incredibly vocal niche crowd in the audience, and has endeared himself to a number of others, but he's still not quite taken seriously. He's standing somewhere between 'underdog' and 'aw, that girl is gonna hurt him, isn't she?'. What successes he's had have managed to split the audience. Flash in the pan, says one side; evidence of more awesome things to come, says the other. But both sides can agree on one thing. He loves what he does.

The young grappler dashes down the ramp, pivoting gracefully here and there to wink, salute, and fire finger-guns at the sidelines. He hops up onto the ring apron and turns to press his back into the ropes. Rolling over the top rope, his boots press into the middle and vaults himself into a neat, perfectly-executed backflip. He lands in a dramatic crouch on his right knee, left leg extended to the side, and right fist thrust theatrically into the air!

At last, his music dies down and he pops to his feet, turning to face his foe. That smile doesn't leave even for a second. "I totally see 'shark'," he concurs with an approving nod. "And that's awesome hair. Y'ready for this?," he asks, eagerly bouncing from boot to boot. It isn't until the referee-girl ushers him back into his corner to inspect him for foreign objects that he settles down.

SHARK BAIT: Mako Adachi vs Blaise Cameron Empty Re: SHARK BAIT: Mako Adachi vs Blaise Cameron

Mako watched as her opponent came out from the entrance. He seemed like he could hold his own from his build, but she would have to see him in action to know for sure. It seemed like he was getting a mixed reaction from the crowd, which seemed odd since this guy seemed cheerful with the audience as he would salute, and even wink a few times as he got closer to the ring. Then watching the young man hop onto the ring and roll over the top rope, doing a backflip as got into the ring and struck a theatrical pose.

This guy seemed pretty impressive to her, why would they give such a mixed reaction to this guy? Then as the music died and he turned towards her, he had a big grin on his face as he complimented her appearance. "Thanks for the compliment, and yeah I'm ready to let loose" Mako would say starting to go towards he opponent, cracking her neck a bit. But the ref girl got there quicker as she starts to inspect him for weapons.

Settling back into her corner, Mako would wait as the ref moved to inspect her now. Getting patted down a bit longer than she thought was needed, she would sigh as the ref continued to check her as there was obviously nothing to hide in her tight fitting attire. Wondering if this woman was just feeling her up she would say, "Hey...there's a match right now...but can we save what your doing for later if you want..."

Blushing, ref girl then finishes her check rather quickly, and Mako heads back to the center of the ring to meet with her opponent. "Your name's Blaise right?" she would say extending her hand with a faint grin on her face. "Just to let you know, I don't go easy on anyone, so you better come at me with everything you got."

A handshake offered by someone who goes by the 'shark' monicker AND just said she doesn't go easy on anyone?

What could possibly go wrong!?

The cheerful, trusting, wonderfully upbeat Blaise trots close to the center of the ring and reaches out to take her gloved hand and give it a squeeze. "Good! Don't want ya to! Because I won't be, either!," he chirps. "Gonna have to get used to being on your back tonight!"

Beat.

"That came out wrong. You know what I mean."

Mako was happy to see that her opponent would shake her hand, and she was looking forward to a good match between the two. But then Blaise had to start talking and seemed to end with something...interesting. He seemed to try and take back the statement about her being on her back, but that wasn't going to stop Mako from poking some fun at him for it throughout the match.

So lifting up an eyebrow Mako would say "Heh, sure I do...but you're going be on your back tonight Blaise, so don't get cocky with me just yet." and with a wink the shark would back up a bit. Then putting her hands up and bouncing a bit on her feet, the shark waited for the bell to ring, and when it did, she would immediately send a kick to the Blaise's right side.

No sneak attacks? She's only reinforcing a self-destructively trusting nature. Shame on her. Shame on her for not fighting dirty!

Blaise, with nary even the thought of her pulling something on him, happily hops back a step to enter his stance. Legs spread, hands lift, and back hunches forward slightly. His fingers splay, anxious to lock up with the punk beauty. Though his game is thrown a little with what she says. Was that a flirt? It sounded kind'a like a flirt. Suzumi would take such exception to it! At the same time, it'd be rather flattering.

Wait, did the bell sound off? It must've, because-

Wham. Blaise is folded to the side, wincing as a kick nails his ribs. "Hnf!" He blinks widely at her, then tries to rush her, hoping to retaliate with a wild chop aimed for her chest.

The bell rings and the kick lands right into the shark's opponent in a flash. Blaise winces and is knocked to the side as this happens, but Blaise seemed to be...oblivious to the fact that the kick was coming. Mako could tell her opponent was unfocused since when she kicks, people usually move, or at least flinch beforehand. It was like he didn't even hear the bell. Regardless, she had already warned him about not going easy, so he better get his head in the game from now on.

So after taking the kick, it seemed that Blaise was ready for some offense as he rushes in for a wild chop that seemed to be aimed at her chest. Mako was quick though as she used her hand to swat the chop to the side, while moving to the left a bit to dodge her rushing opponent. "Come on Blaise, I thought you weren't going to hold back" the sharks says to her opponent, trying to pump him for a good fight, or at least get him a bit more focused. Then moving slowly towards her opponent, Mako attempts to lock up with Blaise to test out her opponent's strength.

"Hmph. Don't you worry!," replies Blaise. "We're only just starting!"

That might be tough-talk, if it weren't so literally true.

Still, when Mako moves in with the telltale sign of locking up, Blaise eagerly accepts. His hands lash to her frame, set at her shoulder and neck, and he begins pouring on his strength steadily. To his credit, he's far from weak. He is, in fact, athletic. And with a contest of strength, it's pretty straightforward. He plies continuous pressure on his opponent, attempting to back her up towards a corner. And should there be just a couple feet left, he'll surge, attempting to ram her back into the turnbuckle for an added oomph.

After hearing his reply, Mako locks up with Blaise as she puts her arms around his shoulder and neck, and her opponent does the same as the two begin to struggle against one another. She knew her opponent had some strength behind him from looking at him, and he did not disappoint as she found herself in a stalemate of sorts.

But Mako soon found the stalemate wouldn't last long as a bit into the struggling Blaise was starting to push her back a bit. It wasn't fast or anything, but he was in fact pushing her back with his slightly greater strength, and the fact that she wasn't wearing boots was probably a large factor of why she couldn't hold her ground.

So as the two slowly approached the corner Mako found herself faced against a surge of power from Blaise as he sent her back into the corner with a thud. Letting out a grunt as her back hit the turnbuckle, the shark would send a quick knee into her opponents gut, trying to halt any advances he could make with her in the corner.

Of course there'd be an advance from her opponent. That's the idea, after all! Why have an advantage if one isn't going to press it! And once her back thumps against the corner, Blaise is rushing in to do... something to her, it's impossible to say. His plans are put on hold as a knee drives into his tight abdominals. "Hff!" He curls forward, leaning heavily against her chest, his hands bracing himself on the top ropes at either of her sides.
