Re: SS 16 Dark Match: Katori Kimura Vs. Ayaka Kurata
A sigh of disappointment escaped Katori's mouth as she sat down on a bench in the locker room dressed in her lime one-piece outfit and lavender short jacket. When she was told she was selected to be able to take part in the Summer Splash event of 2016 and go to Alaska, naturally she was excited and beyond happy to partake in a specially PPV event such as this, even while on the plane to America she couldn't contain her excitement and was eager to start. But now that she's here, that excitement vanished after being told of what she is doing: A Dark Match. Meaning she was just a warm-up event for those who are now coming into the barely empty arena and wasn't part of the actual show of Summer Splash that will be broadcasted live, and so was upset about this.
"Well, I did only have 4 matches up til now. So this should have been expected really." The Mighty Successor finally said in her moment before finally standing up, she takes a quick sip of water from her filter water bottle and takes off the workout towel from around her neck before heading over to the arena entrance. "I guess this is better then nothing, at least." She stands at the curtain, leaning against the wall with her arms crossed while waiting for her theme to start up for a small unsuspecting crowd.
Soon enough Katori's entrance theme kicks it off suddenly in the arena and it catches those who are already in the stadium this early off guard, as the Mighty Successor enters the arena and stands on the stage with a mischievous grin on her face while winking an eye that gives off the feeling as if she was saying. "surprise!". Katori walked down the ramp towards the ring, managing to keep her smile on her face to look eager to start despite her prior disappointment while the crowd starts to absorb in what just happened.
By the time they fully grasp that there is a match starting early and began to do some cheers, Katori had already climbed into the ring after vaulting over the ropes. Since there was not much people here yet to fill up the seats, Katori didn't do her usual routine and merely just waves at the audience and goes over to her corner then leans against with her arms over the top ropes, waiting patiently for her opponent to come as well, if she does that is. **I guess my family is gonna be disappointed to learn I won't be on TV for them to watch, at least let's hope someone will record this and post it on YouTube.**

Re: SS 16 Dark Match: Katori Kimura Vs. Ayaka Kurata
Ayaka should have been honoured when they asked her to go to Summer Splash this year. Her current record was not exactly great, losing both of her matches here at the AFW. Upon arrival, it was revealed that she was going to be the warm-up act, before the true wrestling began. Essentially she was the AFW screensaver while the crowd got fully packed in. Still, at least she got to showcase in Summer Splash, and this turn of events had only fuelled Ayaka's ambition to do better so that next year she could headline properly. Thankfully, Ayaka didn't have to go out first, she could only begin to imagine how embarrassing it must be to go out when no one was even expecting you. At least her opponent had gotten everyone else warmed up. Ayaka took a moment to clear her mind, she didn't have alot to go on in this match. She didn't have an idea who she was facing either, it was almost as if this had all been haphazardly put together. There was a few things that she could rule out though, the person in the ring wasn't going to be hardcore fighter, they didn't seem to arrive at Summer Splash that often. Worst case it was going to be pro wrestler, best case, a jobber kawaii.
After her opponent finished entering the ring, Ayaka would follow swiftly after, her own theme bellowing out as Ayaka took a quick, confident and slightly rushed pace to the ring. She didn't like the awkwardness of this. The arena was dark, hardly any of the ring lights were on. It was almost as if the place hadn't awoken yet. Climbing up towards the ring and sliding betwen the ropes, Ayaka finally got to see first hand who she was facing. Ayaka's heart sunk. It turned out it was going to be a worse case scenario for her. Infront of her stood Katori Kimura. A professional wrestler who fought in a different league before arriving here. Ayaka remembered the girl from when she was younger. She wasn't exactly top brass in the wrestling world, but she posed a significant danger to Ayaka. Ayaka had no former wrestling experience, relying on her brawling kills she had learnt on the street. That was why the hardcore league was a good place for her. Ayaka wasn't good wit submissions or holds, and Wrestlers used them as their bread and butter. Ayaka's plans of a quick win to prove a point had gone out of the window. This was going to be a test of how much Ayaka had learned in two matches. Ayaka was determined to not lose here. A loss here would give her a three loss streak and she woulld end up having a 100% loss rate. Ayaka was not a jobber. Every loss she suffered dented her chances of gaining any sort of attraction for the hardcore fights. That called for one thing, and one thing only. Despite the lack of people, or the lack of cameras, though she was sure some of them were on for camera testing, Ayaka had to make an example out of Katori by beating her down into the ground.
Once she had firmly been in the ring for a few seconds, Ayaka would stretch her arms, trying to work out a perfectly valid attack strategy for Katori. She seemed awfully relaxed, as if she wasn't taking this seriously. Ayaka could understand why that was, but that could play towards Ayaka, she could take advantage of Katori hopefully not brining her 'A' game. There was a stiff jerk in Ayaka's body when she walked forward to start with. Her body still limbering up a bit more. Walking to the centre of the ring, Ayaka would speak to Katori when she joined up with her in the middle of the ring. "It looks like they have got us fighting in the dark and dumps. Guessing they don't take us seriously at all. Ayaka Kurata" She said suddenly giving out her name. "I would say lets show them what for. But today I need to prove a point. I know who you are, and what you are capable of. I am not going to take you lightly at all" With those final words said, Ayaka would take a step back, The bell already ringing as it seemed people were eager to see the fight get underway, with more and more people packing into thier seats. Upon hearing the bell, Ayaka got into gameface mode, spreading her legs and raising her fists in a street adjusted version of a boxing stance. She had to play to her strengths here, and this was her strength, while she was confident she could win a lock up against Katori, she didn't want to risk giving her wrestler a chance to get a early lock or submission off on her.

Re: SS 16 Dark Match: Katori Kimura Vs. Ayaka Kurata
Katori waited patiently at her corner in the ring for her opponent to make her own appearance, all while doing best to keep her composure and not look all upset and such for the crowd. If anything she might guess that whoever her opponent is she'll not share the same idea and will be upset or frustrated over this match. The angel looks around the arena, while a bit dark she able to see that those who are in here early and seated are eager to see this special unofficial SS match. And while it certainly isn't a main event match, Katori is sure gonna give them their money's worth to try and have this be as good as a proper PPV match.
After a while another theme plays on the loudspeakers and Katori turns to the ramp to see who she's dealing with. Because of the dark she can barely see her face, but she was right on how she felt about this from how she's quickly moving towards the ring. She soon sees that the woman has long purple hair passing her waist, and Katori knows someone with that kind of hair. "Rei Tomizawa-san?" She said to herself, guessing who it was, but as she got closer she sees it isn't Rei at all but a woman who has hair similar to her.
Once this woman came into the ring the Mighty Successor pushed from her corner and did some of her own stretches to warm-up a bit before meeting her opponent in the center. She introduced herself as Ayaka Kurata, whom Katori hasn't heard of before, and complains about this set-up and saying that management isn't taking them seriously, which also makes sense to her why she is her opponent while she also talked big towards the angel.
"If your record is as fresh and small as mine is, then it would make sense why we're here like this. I only had 4 matches prior to this." Katori started to say, bringing up her hand and holding up 4 fingers as she does this before placing that same hand on her hip. "And if you do know who I am, then you should already know that I'm better then I was years ago." She will finish up and steps back as well, raising her arms up in a stance while bracing her legs to keep her guard up as the gong rings and the match starts.

Re: SS 16 Dark Match: Katori Kimura Vs. Ayaka Kurata
It seemed that Ayaka's opponent didn't look fazed at all when she arrived. She was expecting that. It also seemed that Katroi had only had four matches here at the AFW which might explain why this was a dark match. Was this a test then? was management keeping an eye on one of them? If that was the case, then it stood to reason Katori was the one being looked at. Ayaka kept quiet that this was her third match, and that she had lost the last two. As the gong went both of them got themselves into ready stances, both different, Opposite sides of the spectrum.Usually, Ayaka would charge in, make the enemy feel what for with a barrage of punches. But this time against Katori. No way. She couldn't put herself in a position that allowed Katori to capitalise on hasty moves. Katori was the sort girl who could tear you apart piece by piece over time.
The most epic matches would be between two people whose strengths and weakness were direct opposites, that way both wrestlers suffered and the one who overcome their weaknesses would emerge victorious. But this match presented Ayaka with an issue. Both fighters were strikers, and while Ayaka would have a slight strength advantage, Katori's strike speed was going to be an issue. Ayaka could hit Katori with a nice hard punch, but Katori could get a few punches in during that time. This all went to explain why Ayaka was somewhat cautious, even slightly afraid of this match up, the stakes of not losing 3 times in a row was also causing this new found cautiousnesses to take hold.
Ayaka circled around the pro wrestler, looking to try and find a slow opening, but it seemed as if none was coming. Ayaka knew she had to attack first, just to keep the offensive momentum in her favour, so it was time to bite the bullet. Edging ever so slightly closer bit by bit, Ayaka threw a left jab at the wrestlers face when she was in range. Ayaka made sure to stay as far back as possible, meaning just her fist could just reach Katori's face. It also meant that Katroi just just lean back slightly to avoid the punch. Swings and roundabouts. This whole match was going to be about swings and roundabouts.

Re: SS 16 Dark Match: Katori Kimura Vs. Ayaka Kurata
The gong has rang and this unofficial SS match has started, and by this time a ref-girl quickly slides into the ring after she rang the gong. Katori kept her eyes locked on Ayaka with her guard up thinking she'll make he first move. Her expression showed she was heavily focused and calm, which is thanks to her lack of giving an energetic entrance like she using does and so is triple C (Calm, cool, collected) at the start of the match for once.
As the two wrestlers circled each other, waiting for the first blow to be thrown, Katori never let her guard down for a second and was ready for anything to come whether it be from her opponent or herself. The angel notices Ayaka creeping closer then soon throws a punch at her. She easily catches her fist in her right hand then just as quickly pulls back on her arm to bring in the purple head closer to her. In the process of this the Mighty Successor twirls herself around in a 360 spin, letting go of her opponent's fist and then throwing that same fist across Ayaka's head to smack her with a Backhand.
If she is successful in making the woman stagger a bit and away after smacking her, Katori will take a few steps back before charging at Ayaka then leaping up to try and hit her a Dropkick.

Re: SS 16 Dark Match: Katori Kimura Vs. Ayaka Kurata
Slow and careful motions was what was going to secure the match for Ayaka in this one. Being her usual brash self would cost her. So her careful attacks was going to be commonplace in this match up. The punch was going to be the start of Ayaka's win. Ayaka knew that there was a perfectly good chance that Katori could dodge the blow. What she wasn't expecting though was Katori was going to catch it. Her eyes widened when Katori's hand clasped around her fist. The crowd saw it, and while it wasn't a full crowd the crowd cheered like crazy when Katori grabbed the fist. Ayaka knew she was in trouble, tugging away rapidly, but it was no good, Katori had already pulled her forward. Ayaka could do nothing but be pulled forward. Ayaka was expecting a clothesline or some sort of powerslam. However she was shocked when Katori span around and backhanded her. The backfist smashed into her face, causing her to staggering back several steps. Each step back was like an admission of defeat. Ayaka would dig her feet in, stopping the retreat.
Ayaka shook her head, trying to get her senses back together. Ayaka looked up and Katori was already there ontop of her. Her feet coming out in a nasty dropkick to her chest, feet smashing into her chest and winding her, air escaping her lungs as she rolled backwards, hitting the mat with a nasty thud. Her body bounced somewhat from the impact, and anger seethed through Ayaka's body. Katori had just made her look like a jerk. She had managed to land two hits without Ayaka getting anything in herself. Not exactly the best way, you want to start a match. Ayaka knew that it was going ot be to get back onto the offense, making sure that she didn't give Katroi the time to start a second pounding. Rising back to her feet wasn't hard, it did hurt though, the pulsating feeling in her chest reminded her of the nasty dropkick she took a few seconds ago. Desperate to keep the momentum, she would fire off her left leg into a wide arching kick to Katroi's upper body, not caring where the kick hit, as long as it hit. It was more as if she was trying to make a point instead of actually focusing on hurting her.

Re: SS 16 Dark Match: Katori Kimura Vs. Ayaka Kurata
Katori smiled in satisfaction once her Dropkick made it's mark on Ayaka and then landed back down on her back afterwards. She sat up and just noticed how already the small crowd was cheering for her, she grinned more but only for a second as she cannot let that distract her while she has the advantage right now. The angel leans back a bit while folding her legs together and then pushes herself up to perform a nip-up to quickly get back onto her feet.
By this time, Ayaka had started to stand back up herself. While remaining cautious, but wanting to press on the attack, Katori moves up towards her opponent while holding her arms up to attempt to grapple with the woman. But as she did Ayaka turned to swing a wide kick at the girl.
As her arms were already at the ready, she brings her right arm up to block the kick. The impact was still painful for Katori's arm once it hit and it was staggering, knocking the successor a bit away from Ayaka after the kick, but at least she was able to half the damage rather then take a direct hit. Katori shakes her arm a bit then raises it back up to get back into her stance as she circles her opponent again.

Re: SS 16 Dark Match: Katori Kimura Vs. Ayaka Kurata
Katori had quickly established a clear advantage. Ayaka needed to regain control. Although it was crude, the kick was going to be the start of Ayaka taking control of the match. But again Katori showed her wrestling prowess by blocking her kick with somewhat ease. Ayaka groaned inwardly in her head by the way Katori blocked the kick. Sure it was partly down to luck, but it was still annoying. Katori retreated and Ayaka rose to her feet properly. But the issue now was that Katori was circling around her like a shark cattling it's prey. Ayaka had to make a rash decisions, attacking wildly. She had to turn it around and put Katori on the back foot, otherwise she would end up gaining control and keeping Ayaka down for the entire match.
Her attack would end up being a charged clothesline. It was brash, non-calculated and impulsive. The risk was huge. Katroi was not slow, and was in her prime. A clothesline was only effective usually when at close range or against a dazed or not fully with it opponent. Though if it did work, it would give Ayaka the advantage and get Katori on the canvas at her mercy. But yeah, it was a long shot. And the small but growing crowd could sense that as Ayaka launched the attack.

Re: SS 16 Dark Match: Katori Kimura Vs. Ayaka Kurata
While Katori's arm still stung a tiny bit from the kick, it wasn't enough to hinder the girl as she circled around her opponent. As she entered the ring not knowing of this woman at at beforehand she has been paying attention to her actions and movements to get a good idea of what her style is. But since Ayaka hadn't done enough yet, Katori cannot come up a good conclusion although she does have a small guess which she'll see if it's confirmed or not later.
It was then that Ayaka charged at the Mighty Successor with an arm raised up, to which she also stopped moving herself. This was a very risky tactic for this woman to do as it's best to do this while the wrestler has their guard dropped, is stunned, or dazed, not while fresh at the start unless you're lucky.
Once Ayaka came in close and swung that arm recklessly Katori immediately ducked underneath the arm to dodge. And if her violet haired opponent stopped right after, the angel will quickly move to attempt to wrap her arms around the woman's waist tightly and clung onto her for a few seconds. "No offense and not to be rude, but you need proper training." Katori will say before lifting up Ayaka with all she had to slam her down into the mat with a basic Backdrop.
