Shinu vs Q - A Lesson in Humility Empty Shinu vs Q - A Lesson in Humility

It was another hot evening in summer in June, the air was burning, feverish as an amount of crowds filled one of Anime Boxing Federation's gym, eager to watch the fight. Yui didn't mind the weather though, especially since she knew by the end of the night her body would be in sweat, blood and probably other bodily liquids. She walked from her home clad in navy blue track jacket which matched her trainee. Hidden underneath her outfit were her same colored sports bra and boxing shorts. Jogging along the sidewalk of the streets on her blue boxing boots with her gym bag slung over her shoulder, she finally made it to the gym where she could finally meet that foul-mouthed rookie in the ring.

Brushing a lock of her sweat-plastered dark hair over her forehead, she pushed herself through the door and entered the gym. The familiar atmosphere of musky scent of sweat, synthetic leather and dried blood struck her nose immediately. She saw many gentlemen and some women gathered around the ring, awaited for both fighters' presence.

Knowing their patience was running short slowly, Yui decided to waste no time and headed into the locker room right away. As soon as she arrived, she locked herself in, allowing a moment of privacy for herself as no one else was present in the room. She then recalled the events that led this fight to happen, but if she thought about it again, there was actually nothing spectacular about the fight other than the intensity developed within.

Right about a few weeks back, Yui was training in peace like she always did in her free time. While channeling her energy through her gloves to rock the punching bag hard, she met the most cocky and annoying person she ever knew in this Boxing Federation. Despite being a rookie fighter, her cockiness exceeded even the most veteran fighter in the league. They went into arguments eventually, eager to prove who is the best in the ring before the deal is sealed and the fight happens.

"5 minutes left" A man who happened to be the official for this less popular bout knocked on the door and notify her. "Okay" she yelled out a little bit so that the man could hear her answer through the steel door before she prepped herself up.

The fight was unlike others she had before, no announcer, no nothing, just referee to keep everything in order.

She was wearing her blue shorts and top, the same outfit she always wore in every fights as she made her way into the ring. The outfit showed off her well toned body with her slightly swelling biceps and her four-packs almost visible on her abdominal yet still retaining her feminine looks. Her hair was tied up in a ponytail, enable the flexibility and focus. A nod was given to the small audience and her robe was tossed into the seconds provided for her by the Boxing Federation.

Body - check!
Hair - check!
Gloves - check!
Shoes - check!

Everything was felt good and she couldn't wait to get her itchy hands to start throwing punches around.

Shinu vs Q - A Lesson in Humility Empty Re: Shinu vs Q - A Lesson in Humility

Carmen could hardly remember her first amateur bout. It had only been ten or eleven years ago, but it felt like decades. So much change. So little time. Who had she been fighting that day? Some girl about her age, dyed blonde hair, bit of a motormouth. Shut her down in the second round.

She remembered being bright eyed, more naive, maybe too eager. Qualities that her father couldn't ween her off - they had to be beaten from her with time. She didn't remember being nearly as irritating as Suzy Q was, though.

Suzy, to her credit, was a bright girl with some good potential. She was willing to learn, which was a good base - Carmen had some good students in her boxing class, but few of them really had the energy she had, the drive. Most of them just took up boxing as a way to get in good cardio and hold their own in a fight. Suzy had the talent to be a real fighter.

Someday, at least. But that someday was a long time coming. For now, she was green, and the best way to get rid of green was to mix it with some red.

Carmen set Suzy up with a low card match - nothing too special, against someone on her relative level. Carmen gave her decent odds to win, but even if she lost it would be a learning experience. If Suzy could calm down long enough to view it that way.

Suzy was bouncing as they made their way out to the ring, throwing out a few punches as the robe flowed around, some last minute shadow boxing. "Not much of a crowd..."

"Don't worry about the crowd, worry about the fight." She gave her a pat on the back as they made their way over to the ringside, getting some mild applause from the few patrons who gave a damn. It was a free match, it wasn't like they could really complain. "You ready for this?"

"Born ready." She slid on into the ring and disrobed, throwing a few cocky waves to her opponent in the corner. Carmen didn't recognize her, but she wasn't all that familiar with the Japanese boxing scene, especially the low ranks. There really wasn't a whole lot to look into - boxing never had much of a presence on this island, and female boxing was far less. She was honestly surprised they'd gotten as many people to watch the match as they did.

But Carmen had plans to change that. It wouldn't be easy, but she had plans. Speaking of which...

"Stop bouncing. Drink." She popped a bottle water bottle in Suzy's outh and let her guzzle it down. "Okay, ref's getting ready to start. Don't know this girl, but I don't think she has much more experience than you - take the first round slow. Slow. Stay on the defense, feel her out. Get it?"

Suzy finished off the bottle and wiped her mouth, letting the ice water do its magic. "Got it."

"Good." She gave her a quick pat on the butt and let her saunter out to the middle of the ring as the referee ushered them on.
