Well said Cirno, thanks <img src=" title="Wink" />

Although I really would like for this to not just be a discussion about power playing and stuff, so I guess the positive bits of Cirno's thing were:

1. Communicate with your rp partner
2. Set up rp's in a way that both of you will have fun.
3. COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR RP PARTNER AND BE HONEST >:O

[quote="Cirno":2moajvnm]Hi I'm Cirno, I'm here to throw a wall of text in your face.

This ' Power Playing ' and ' Star hopping ' crap. Quite honestly the first time I heard that, I thought they were playing Super Mario or whatever, it just sounds so similar and stuff. Now, I'll start with the Power Playing first. Personally, I've been Power played at for almost two years and rarely got a problem with it because it's basically one person wanting to win just a bit more then the other. If ANYONE has a problem with another RPer power playing then for the love of God, take it up with them. Don't contact the mods, they are not your parents and like every other known problem in the world, bringing someone in who has not experienced the problem for themselves, will only make matters worse. It might be scary for some to face the person directly about it through PM's or Messenger or whatnot but believe me, they would rather here it from YOU then the mods and the mods are busy enough, you are all adults now and can handle yourselves in these situations.. Otherwise, I fear for you when the zombie apocalypse arrives.

Then this ' Star Hopping ', which I still believe is Super Mario. I still don't quite understand what the problem is.. You can refuse a match, you can plan a match out and off course for some, plan victory or defeat. Anyway, back to this Super Mario Thing. Yes it might seem bad but some people just wanna face the wrestlers they like, if they happen to have some kind of stardom or whatever ( Belts, popularity, ect ) and if they lose... Well, tough luck for them. Again, plan shit out before you throw your characters in there, if you're afraid or don't want to lose, try to throw in a deal or two to work it out, otherwise mommy and daddy mods are secretly involved again because someone was too shy to talk to the person in question and makes matters much, much worse. Again, you don't want that, no one wants that.

I think some people are just very competitive about some things, which is something I respect yet at the same time thinking about only winning the match, basically ruins the RP for both the winner and the loser. Roleplaying is supposed to be fun or magical. You know, rainbow stuff. People often forget that they are playing with other RPers and that apparently can get messy but those people forget the basic rule of RP and life! Talk it out with eachother, or the feds have to interfere and it won't end pretty! Someone might just get beaten up, or shot.. Or both. Anyway, please remember that you're doing matches for fun. Winning is nice, enjoying the match with eachother is nicer.

Oh before I Forget! Respect the rules! Or else...

This, this pretty much summed up everything I was trying to put into words to post here. At the end of the day everyone here should be adults so why would anyone complain to mods? One would think the adult thing to do is if you have any concerns about how a match is progressing you talk to the other person, I can pretty much promise you they won't bite. I know a lot of people who like to just let matches play out and whoever looks like should win they go with that conclusion, but even if you like to rp this way that doesn't mean you can't pm the other person to ask how they think it is going or once the match seems to be drawing to an end who they think should win the match, you know, through discussion.

Now onto me personally, I have been told recently that I haven't paid my dues as it were, which once that was explained to me meant that my characters should not be involved with the more popular characters whom one might consider the upper card. Personally, if the other player and I get together and decide upon a story then I don't think someone not involved in said story has a right to look at our story and say that one of them doesn't belong there, we as players are the shepherds of our characters after all.

Now if a title belt is involved thats a different story, and the more I think about what Blue said earlier about upper card people having more to complain about, well blue's right in regards to the title belt as I doubt either party wants to lose that and who else would one go to besides the mod? But I would also say Blue that your comments might be view as belittling to those who are part of the middle card, as while those stories don't involve titles so too do the vast majority of matches between upper card characters not involve them as well, we only have a few titles after all, and thus their stories are no less important to them as your own are to you, so to compare middle card matches to one off matches or im ones can be a little belittling as mid card has stories too, if that was your intention at all.

In truth I dislike the notion of there being a mid card and an upper card. I mean just because you are in the top ten doesn't mean you're not going to ever lose again to people outside the top ten, I mean being in the top ten is like putting a target on your back, and everyone outside of it is gunning for you. Sometimes you have a bad night, sometimes the other person pulls something sneaky, or sometimes you just don't match up well character wise against someone, so why does there seem to be a stigma on lower people sometimes beating higher people? The argument might be made that as a newer character they don't have the experience to even hang with these people, but I think in an rp setting thats a difficult one to make when you consider having stats, player written histories, etc.

To address the whole thing about why people try to springboard into the upper card, when you look at the site there is zero focus on the mid card having any importance or even its existence in addition to anyone who doesn't watch wrestling on tv may not even know what that term means. The top ten ranking is about the only thing a person knows to aim for character wise, the entropy belt isnt listed as a mid card title nor is it described as being such when one asks about it. In PPV's the mid card matches don't seem to be given the same amount of thought as some of the other matches, characters from the mid card not being chosen to do matches based on their story lines but more or less used as filler for matches that are thought up.

Now I would also like to say something more light hearted, as I do love the concept of the top ten like Harrier. I just wish it changed up a bit more often, then again I have only been here half a year in total so maybe it changes more often than I realize. As just my opinion I would like to see the entropy belt, or something new which replaces it, to be more of a mid card belt like the WWE with the untied states title, gives something for use in mid card stories and can serve as jumping off point into the upper card, as of right now the entropy seems to be mostly about laughing at the entropy belt. I agree with how Blue described it.

So thats pretty much my thoughts on life, the universe, and everything. The answer is of course 42 but I don't want to know the question. I would only ask that no one you know attack me over these thoughts though light hearted and pleasant conversation over these thoughts is always welcome.

I never thought I'd say this, but...

TL;DR. O.O

I'll get to it, though. The only point I wanted to make was that people talk to the mods when there's an issue pertaining to one of the mechanisms of the site and their partner is refusing to cooperate.

If it was a random match that didn't pertain to the operations of the site for all of it's members who chose to participate in the communal RP pot, then there'd be no reason. Something like the friction title affects a lot of people's RP, and it's a central element to the site and needs to be resolved. If a FT match can't resolve itself due to a stalemate between rp partners, the mods would fix it. It's why we have them (aside from banning bots).

Just from personal experience that has not been the case. Now I did write an exclusion for the title match as yes that is one I don't see anyone but mods being able to decide, but considering that only happens one or two times a year, i would guess most complaints have little to do with that, since its a wall of text you might have missed that part. Tai's point was that most of the complaints, if not all, that he had heard were from players of the so called upper card against either each other or lower card people, hence his joke about ego's. <img src=" title="Razz" />

Okay, I made it half way. If anyone uses the fucking term "upper card people" again, you're getting a sharp stick in the eye.

I AM NOT AN UPPER CARD PERSON you nitwits. Good heavens. There are people who are more active and are interested in the things the site has to offer. If they're competent writers and RPers, they end up in those things.

At some point I'll take another crack at explaining this, but right now I have steak that's ready to be flipped.

Edit: Steak is resting. <img src=" title="Very Happy" />

I have had three matches of any real consequence to the state of RP on the board in my 2.5 years here. I distance myself from most of the people that I think you're trying to refer to as "upper carders". I don't see how it's fair to somewhat arbitrarily come up with your own class system and then be all angry mob on the bad one.

Honest question, why am I lumped in with that group, and what exactly defines that group? If you gauge things by involvement in board stuff like the tournaments and PPV's, then it took me a year before I was asked to participate in anything. I currently don't have anyone in the lovely "top 10" (of course it hasn't been updated, but my character that is presently on there doesn't work here anymore).

As far as I can tell it's one or more of:
1. People whose character(s) get attention.
2. People who participate in title matches or PPV's or whatever other board RP devices.
3. People who have a character in the rankings.
4. People who are popular among other RP'ers (ie Tat. Everyone wants a piece.)
5. People who have been around for a while.

Currently, the site is set up in such a way that there are toys to play with, and the biggest toys only can be played with by a few people at one time. The only way to level it is to get rid of the rankings and the titles, and the divisions of Friction/Tension and Hentai and Kawaii, so that every character is equal with regards to standing on the board.

Really, I am chagrined that it's come to this. When did we develop a caste system, and when did the proles get so feisty? If I AM bourgeois, then I've got to start oppressing the shit out of you proles so I can keep my comfy comfy seat on all your backs.

Upper card will mean different things to different people, but also we are speaking more about the group as a whole and less about you <img src=" title="Razz" /> No one is mad at you Blue, we love you, come get a hug!

Alpha children wear grey They work much harder than we do, because they're so frightfully clever. I'm really awfully glad I'm a Beta, because I don't work so hard. And then we are much better than the Gammas and Deltas. Gammas are stupid. They all wear green, and Delta children wear khaki. Oh no, I don't want to play with Delta children. And Epsilons are still worse. They're too stupid to be able…

Oh, shut up. I wouldn't care if you WERE mad SPECIFICALLY at me. What I'm driving at here, is WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU PEOPLE ON ABOUT.

Nebulous, half-baked ideas about oppression and rebellion are dangerous and stupid. Moreover they make one annoying and unpopular at dinner parties. If you can't defend this new soap box of yours, then shut up and go back under the porch.
