Satoru Kido vs. Songbird Empty Satoru Kido vs. Songbird

Post by Dynamo44 Mon Jul 09, 2012 10:30 pm

The people all gathered in anticipation as another match is about to begin. This one was pitted against a rookie and a veteran. Though he was new, it was said that he knew a bit of kickboxing and martial arts, so this match promised to be very interesting.

Suddenly, a loud sound like a bird's shiek filled the entire stadium and the crowd was scared the heck out of them. There was a shadow of a big bird came at the front of the walkway and suddenly, there was an explosion of black and pink smoke. Once it was clear, Paramore's "That's What You Get" began to play and there stood a girl with pink and white hair. Her clothing consisted of a dark shining pink sleeveless zippered suit with the collars covering the bottom of her face, long black fingerless gloves, and black army boots. She would walk with a stern look on her face and didn't care if others think that she's a freak.

She then jumped and kept her balance on the top rope before front flipping into the ring. Afterwards, she would get to her own corner and wait for her opponent to come.

Satoru Kido vs. Songbird Empty Re: Satoru Kido vs. Songbird

The rookie entered the arena without anything fancy. There was no music or opening act as he casually strolled towards the ring. The white haired boy wore a black sleeveless shirt with black shorts and a pair of worn-looking low sneakers. Despite the casual attitude, his eyes looked as if he was glaring at the audience and his would be opponent. Truth is, he didn't feel comfortable being in a place with a lot of people, so he unconsciously made that kind of face from time to time when he's nervous.

The boy climbed into the ring, and looked around his surroundings like a lost kid. Then he looked at the girl in front of him, not realizing he was still glaring. Without saying anything he observed her from head to toe.

Songbird would see the boy and noticed that he didn't look comfortable with so many people watching him in a match. As he entered into the ring, she would zipper down her gag to show a friendly smile as she walked to him. She would maintain a good distance between her and the boy and extended a hand saying, "Hi, you must be Satoru Kido. I'm Songbird, it's nice to meet you."

Hearing her voice seemed to make the boy snapped out as he gradually became calmer. The glare is gone, leaving a plain face without any expression on it. Still, he remained silent for a few seconds, as if he didn't notice her invitation to shake hands.

"Oh," he finally responded. Kido would slowly took her hand and shook it lightly. "N-nice to meet you too."

Songbird would firmly shake Kido's hand and said, "I hope we have a great match today. From what I've heard, you've got some skills in fighting. So do I and I can't wait to show them to you." Slowly breaking off the handshake, she would get to her corner and start stretching out a little.

Satoru Kido vs. Songbird Empty Re: Satoru Kido vs. Songbird

"Nothing compared to a pro like you," he replied.

Kido also walked to his corner and did some half assed stretching on his own. He lazily stretched his arms and leg, letting out a few sighs in between. His face looked calm, almost too calm, combined with his laid back attitude, it's tempting to think that he didn't take this match seriously. After he finished his "stretching", Kido would stepped away a little from the corner and squatted casually. He stared at Songbird for a while.

"Um, so... Songbird-san," he suddenly said. "do you... sing at all...?"

A small laugh could be heard from the audience as he said that. There's even a few who'd say "What kind of question is that?" The boy had no expression in his face so it's hard to tell whether it's a serious question or not.

While she was still stretching, Songbird would hear Kido question her if she can sing. She would raise an eyebrow and replied, "Why yes...yes, I do. I sing from time to time only if it is necessary. Why do you ask?" She would then walk to the center of the ring, waiting for her opponent to come and face her so that the match can begin. She was as eager and curious as ever to know Kido's skillset in the ring.

Satoru Kido vs. Songbird Empty Re: Satoru Kido vs. Songbird

"Oh," was all Kido said when he heard her reply. The white haired boy slowly got up on his feet and began to walk casually towards the center of the ring.

"They said... a person's nickname sometimes reflected their personality... or something like that," he said. "Back in the streets they called me... um..." Kido gave a long pause, looking at the ceiling as he tried to remember something. "What was that again...?"

The crowds began to laugh as he finished his sentence. Kido still had a slightly confused look on his face as he reached the center of the ring.

"Whatever, it's not important anyways," said Kido as he slowly took a loose martial art stance, his blank expression returned on his face as he did.

Songbird would nod in agreement that a person's nickname does reflect on their personality or other skills. She was a little confused though when Kido didn't remember what he was usually called back in the streets, but she was sure it was probably something good and catchy. She would get in her fighting stance as soon as the boy got in his, and the bell rang to signal for the match to start. "Ready?"

The boy didn't say anything, as he took a few steps back, waiting for her to make the first move. Suddenly he stopped and dropped his stance, as if he's remembering something.

"Timeout," said Kido as he raised his hand. "What are the rules again?"

The crowd laughed as they heard him said that. With a blank expression like that they're almost convinced that he's just an airhead. Whether he's pretending or not, they found him amusing since the beginning. Kido himself wondered why the crowds were laughing. He didn't remember seeing anything about the match type on the notice the board put for him.
