Kurai vs. Songbird

Songbird would feel Kurai's headscissors start to loosen up and she was starting to breathe a little easier. If she was able to pry herself completely loose, she would try to use a bit of her strength to rise and knock her opponent off of her back. If she managed to do that, she would try to stand back up so she can relax her muscles a little before going back to her fighting stance.

Kurai had been ready for a tough battle to maintain this hold, but she had not expected her opponent's resilience. Songbird was impressing Kurai with her defiance, that was for sure, not that it helped much, considering she was prying her legs apart. She felt the her legs start to slack badly, but before she could think of a way to transition this into a different hold, Songbird would get loose, and start to stand, throwing off Kurai's balance. "Who-Wahhh!" Kurai yelled in surprise as she fell backwards. "Uffhh..." she grunted, landing on her sore back, but trying to ignore the pain she got back up, rolling into an offensive stance, she needed to wrap this up or risk being outlasted by her determined opponent. She would launch forward and plant her right foot into the mat next to Songbird, as she would turn around instead of hitting her, and grab an arm while pushing back her right foot, hoping to convert Songbird into a ball of forward momentum she could throw.

Songbird was successful to stand up and get Kurai off her back. She would try to get back to her position to face her opponent, but Kurai suddenly grabbed her arm while pushing back. Not wnating to be in another tough situation, Songbird would attempt to punch Kurai's face with her other fist before doing a legsweep to get her on the mat.

Kurai had kept on the offensive hoping to retain the momentum of this match, but her opponent had other ideas. As Kurai began the flipping motion , Songbird threw a punch to her face, Kurai kept silent through the hit trying to ignore it and throw her, but then she saw a change in scenery as she fell to the mat. Kurai would attempt to roll and prevent any attack by Songbird.

Songbird prevented Kurai to do any more moves at the moment and Kurai was already rolling away to back off for a while. This gave her the opportunity to shake out the heat and stress from her arms and hands before putting them back in her fighting stance. She would start walking to her opponent, saying, "Now, THIS is where things get serious!" She would crack her knuckles as she came in a little closer.

Kurai rolled away, disgruntled by her opponent's ability to disrupt her move. As she got up, she would look over and see her opponent shaking herself out before walking over towards Kurai. "So wait, you weren't already?" Kurai would ask politely, cocking her head to the side. After allowing for a response if any, Kurai would drop down, almost squatting as she locked in her preparations for the next move.

"I am prepared for anything, I only hope you are too." said Songbird as she came closer to Kurai. Suddenly, she saw her opponent seemingly squatting at her position. She didn't know what Kurai was up to, but nevertheless, she would put her fists up to show she is ready and attempt a running kick aimed at Kurai's body.

Kurai would smile "That's good, but I dont think you're ready for this." Songbird moved in, and threw a kick towards Kurai. But this was a powerful stance, well known for its diversity. Kurai would set both her arms before exploding outward. both hands becoming knife thrusts (fingers locked and extended) one aimed at Songbird's ribs and the other to strike Songbirds kick right above the knee.

Songbird would launch her kick towards her opponent, but Kurai had something else coming for her. And when Songbird leasts suspects it, Kurai would form her hands like knife thrusts and strike at the ribs and above Songbird's kneecap of the kick. "AAAAGH!" Songbird cried out as she would fall back and clutch her ribs and leg with both arms. It felt as if several nails had hit them and she would be forced to remove them off. She would roll away quick to try and recover from those fatal blows.

Kurai moved smoothly towards her opponent as she fell back from the knife thrusts. Kurai was not about to slow down, this stance was meant to quickly wear tough people down using multiple strikes to the same area. Kurai would lift her leg attempting to smash down on Songbird's now sore ribcage. If successfull Kurai would rinse and repeat a few times, then take one step back to give Songbird a false sense of security before kicking her in the face. If that worked Kurai would back off for real to allow her opponent to breathe at least for a moment.
