Apologies in advance!

Tue Jul 25, 2017 4:49 pm by acuya

Just dropping in to apologize in advance - for the next week or two, I'm going to be a bit sporadic with my posts. I'm doing a little Uber to make some extra money for some personal things in my life, and that'll take up some time that was previously used for writing.

I will get to everyone I owe a post for, it'll just take a bit longer than you're probably used to from me. So just bear with me and things will return to normalcy.

Also, sorry about the delay with the battle royale. That's all …

Looking to revive

Mon Jul 03, 2017 7:06 am by GrandAkumaShogun

Hello I apologize for my long absence from here, real life issues have been kicking my ass but I feel like I can return on here so if anyone is interested in taking on either Takeichi Mori or Takeshi Kawai feel free to get in touch. And if you are one of the people I was having a match with before my lengthy hiatus and wish to resume that match also feel more than welcomed to get in touch with me as well.

Gauntlet match won't work for a PPV, mainly due to how slow some people are to respond. With 10 people, it wouldn't be done by the time the next PPV rolled around.

There's another title match going on right now anyway, that doesn't seem like it'll be done by the time the PPV is here.

With all due respect bob, you're one of a long line of people who have pulled for matches with billions of characters involved. They don't work. I may reference a 4-way tag match that has been going since before the dawn of time. It's hard enough to find TWO people who can post fast enough to finish a thread before it becomes irrelevant, let alone a hundred people each using a hundred characters.

It could be an annual thing, though, have some crazy Christmas time battle royale that starts and ends every Christmas.

Anyway, I'd rather never see anything but a standard singles match, and have them done well and even somewhat succinctly than make valiant attempts at bigger ideas.

3 is probably the limit for people in a match thread unless at least two of them are really really active. Singles and tags (with one person holding both) are fine. But no stipulations like... ladder match Blue? They can be used for bigger pictures and stuff.

NONE. Ladders are too complicated. You can only uses boxes. Regularly shaped boxes.

I did have a feeling that it'd be a bridge too far to call for more than 4 players for a battle royale. A gauntlet match might be a cool idea especially if you want to keep everything in one thread and narrative! At the end of the day unless its a match between the Legion of Doom and the Nasty Boys who remembers tag team or 4+ matches at a PPV! I certainly don't! <img src=" title="Very Happy" />

What about this ball by the way?

Mm, I don't think we should limit it to just 3-4 matches, personally, now that I've thought about it.

Summer Splash had eight matches and the t-shirt contest, and all but two (plus the contest) of them were finished.

Finished pretty quick, too, by AFW standards.

I think having more matches isn't bad at all, it lets more people get involved with things, and lets people not involved have more options for what they want to read.

yeah, 3-4 matches might be okay I guess, I would say maybe 5-7 would be a decent number, more isn't always better, but I do believe that some people would like to get in on this, also let's say 6 matches, then it's the backstage things, the interviews and etc.

I don't know, I still think the Gauntlet match could be cool and work pretty darn well, if it was done with relatively active members, let's say 6 people, and since Gauntlet matches are one on one matches it wouldn't cause that much confusion and stuff, so I still think it has the merit to be used quite well.

Just saying, as The Queen of Hells said as well, I don't think it would be bad with having a lot of matches, many PPV have quite a good deal of matches, so I think it could be cool with having a but more than just 3-4 matches.

[quote="Bluemouse":38dljspf]I think I forgot to mention, but since this is supposed to be a single ppv and not a collection of separate things that happen separately, organize the threads into a single timeline, list links in a sticky at the top of the ppv board. If one were so inclined, one could then read the whole ppv start to finish, even if they're being written concurrently with each other and whatnot.

I think for things like this, too, less is more. Maybe 3-4 matches total, one of which for a title, and a bunch of other stuff. Think in terms of it being an actual ppv.

Okay, I know we were separated at birth and all, but I'd appreciate it if you stopped suggesting ideas that I actually thought of earlier today. Everyone will think I'm just stealing all my ideas from you.

NEWS FLASH: the Archergurl who you speaking of is not part of AFW anymore and she's currently working in production for new game titles in Japan. I'm her Canadian friend who she gave her PC due to mines has crashed. She was nice enough to give it to me to help a friend in need. So she got a spared one that she uses for the things I've mention above. BTW, Anegge and Alexandra be sure to check the E-mail adresses carefully. As Archergurl and me aren't the same thing.
