Past/History
Raidenâ€s parents are Japanese with successful careers as professional fighters in the USA. His father is a light-weight boxer and he mother was a wrestler (sheâ€s well known in Japan and now a trainer in the US). As the son of a fighting family, big things were expected of Raiden that he was never quite able to live up to.

As a young boy in Japan he used to watch his parentâ€s training and fights. Both of them were naturally talented at combat, intense and disciplined. He admired and was very proud of his parents, but somehow could never muster that kind of focus himself. Because of this his parents disapprove of him when he struggled at boxing or martial arts.

His struggles were partially for lack of athletic talent, perhaps some childhood ADD, but in his youth was frankly his environment. He became “aware of girls” at a very young age. From that moment on, hanging around his parentâ€s “workplaces” became a whole new experience.

In his motherâ€s world, the excitement of the soap opera playing out among the women in the wrestling ring was replaced by the slamming and contorting of thinly clad, strong, beautiful bodies, all in with the aim of establishing dominance and wring submission from your rival. In his fatherâ€s gym, womens boxing classes were becoming more prevalent, bringing a whole new meaning to the word Knockout.

When he was 14 his parents got great offers to moved to the US. His English was good, but it was still tough making the transition. He had difficulty making friends and connections. Now he saw his parents even less than when they lived in Japan. And though they were well rewarded at their work, when he did see them, all his parents talked about was how soft Americans were. “Maybe this is the place for you Raiden.”

He was determined to gain his parents†respect. He knew he had to learn to be a fighter, and not in the US. He had to do it in Japan. But where could he go where hs parents wouldnâ€t find out what he was doing? Then he discovered the AFW…..

Personality
Being a son of strong-willed parents and a transplant without strong roots, Raiden comes off as shy at first. In person he takes a while to open up, but once he sees you as a friend he can be a lot of fun and do anything to help you. He is a fierce ally to those he cares about.

Itâ€s been a while since he lived in Japan and heâ€s never been exposed to the kinds of personalities you run into at the AFW, so he sometimes gets pulled into stiuations that he has a hard time getting out of.

In the ring Raiden wants to be know for his skill and does his best to win fairly. Following in his fatherâ€s footsteps, boxing is Raidenâ€s primary sport. Heâ€s had to take up wrestling as well to make it easier to find boxing opponents. He sees his weakness for women fighters as a flaw he has to overcome. What better place to do it than a league where the women predominate? Against male opponents he can go a little berserk when he is repeatedly fouled. Though itâ€s a struggle for him, heâ€s working on channeling be that aggressive against women opponents.
