Pokemon & Pain Recovery

"Nggh... stupid weak pillow-fu." Adrian grumbled as she was continually battered and not bruised by Natalia, the final strike dislodging her own grip, now she was defensless.

Natalia's question gave her pause for thought for a small moment, "well... I don't really have much choice, and it's still Rebecca. She's still my friend, even if she is a... whatever, she probably hasn't changed and neither have I so no problems. Even if she does like to..." Adrian swallowed hard, still finding it hard to grasp the whole thing "...dominate people, she wouldn't be mean like that to me. Ever." She insisted, even if Rebecca was evil to the rest of the world, she was still her closest friend.

Natalia folded the pillow to make it stiff and pressed the non-sharp edged tip into Adrian's throat. "Yes... I have noticed... So I probably better leave before she gets here and gets some funny ideas..." The Dream added while she put pressure on Adrian's windpipe with her pillow, trying to make the cosplayer fall back into submission.

"Have you ever considered that she may actually have a crush for you too?"

"Nggh..." she groaned as Natalia pressed her pillow against her neck, "What's with the roughness?" She asked, it was a pillow fight, but then again Natalia would get competitive, or sexual, about anything it seemed.

Laying back on the bed to get some air, throwing up her arms in surrender. "Geez... well she..." thinking hard, thinking back to high school "...we..." she stuttered, trying to face away from Natalia as memories flashed in her head, school, wrestling academy, their first match together in America, their tag team match against Nha & Sha.



"Hi! I'm Adrian!"
"I'm... sorry."
"Rebecca! Stop it!"
"Leave her alone!"
"That's what friends are for, right?"
"You'd put your friend before your dream?"
"Uh... thanks for catching me."
"You know, for the brains of this team you can be really stupid sometimes."
"We did it! First of many!"
"So, how's Japan?"
"Leave her alone!"
"Please... just run... I can take it."
"Rebecca!"

Memories, so happy, some said repeated themselves in her mind, she buried her face in the blankets to hide the tears. How could she have been so blind? Did she really think that they could have just been friends... really close friends mind you, through all that? Maybe that's why she was so uncomfortable watching Rebecca like that, maybe she was repressing a crush on her for years.

Natalia dropped her pillow and laid besides Adrian, sliding her arms gently around the cosplayer's head, she brought her friend close to her in a soft embrace and kissed the top of her head. "Silly Adrian"

She knew Natalia was trying to make her feel better, but couldn't help but sink worse into her funk. Brushing away Natalia's embrace she jumped off the bed to get something to drink. "What if..." she began, her voice shaking "...I can't do it." She said finally, her heart sinking into the pit of her stomach "I can't talk to her, not now, I just can't." she said, trying not to break into tears again as she grabbed a beer out of the fridge.

Natalia rolled on her belly on the bed placing a pillow under her chin and followed Adrian with the eyes. "What you mean you can't talk to her?" The Dream asked, not sure if she understood what Adrian was saying. The blue-eyed cutie wasn't precisely timid and rarely had trouble letting people she liked know it. Natalia twisted her lips doing the same cute funny face she did every time she was sunk in deep thought; trying to get in Adrian's shoes... But she obviously failed. After a few more seconds in silence not knowing what to say she finally asked the first thing that came to her head. "What are you afraid of?"

"What am I afraid of she says." Adrian repeated, fumbling for a bottle opener. "Isn't it obvious?" She shouted back, as though it was the most obvious thing in the world "I'm scared of fucking it up! Like I do with a lot of things, matches, nights out, all sorts of stuff and I really can't afford to do that. What if I'm wrong, what if it's not a crush she's feeling but some messed up vision of what loyalty and friendship is supposed to be? What then?"

Natalia nodded as she heard Adrian fears. She took a second to think about it and she felt she kind of understood. Even though she had never been in a similar situation, she knew all too well how bad rejection hurt, and she could guess being rejected by someone you felt so deeply as Adrian seemed to feel for Becca must be truly horrible.

"Yes... I see... You are right... Natalia said with a soft tone. "...but... You are going to have to ask her. One way or another. I mean. If you really feel for her... You are going to tell her...or show her. Sooner or later. I doubt you'll be able to hold it in your chest forever. And... It will be much better if you tell her when you are prepared and in control... Than do it when drunk... Because if you do that... Your failure is almost sure."

"I know..." Adrian moaned sadly, slowly putting the un-opened bottle in the fridge. Getting drunk right now wouldn't help anything as she slowly walked back to the bed, slumping down next to Natalia as she tried to hide the red streaks running down her face.

Natalia laid besides her friend, moving one hand to pat Adrian in the head and brush the cosplayer's hair gently, trying to confort her. Then she reached with her arm around Adrian's shoulders and hugged her sideways. "Is going to be fine... You'll see..."
