I am going to a wedding, and will be traveling for the next few days. Sadly, I will not be able to post. But do not worry, I shall return. Sorry to all the people I am delaying.

Not dead! Sorry!

Wed Jun 21, 2017 5:02 am by veritech892

Sorry for the recent slowed responses and disappearing act! Life, work, all that stuff, kind of got the jump on me! I'm back now though, promise - or I really hope I'm back now at least. I'll be replying to all the threads I have now, and hopefully I'll be around more now that things seem to (hopefully) be slowing down a bit.

Does anyone feel up for an open thread bar?

Tue Jun 20, 2017 10:05 pm by Ragdoll_Jobbers

Hi guys, um well...considering I've been gone for a few months contemplating on life and death, uh that's dark, I was wondering, any body up for an open thread bar? I have some ideas but was wondering, well, if I open a bar thread, I would need "customers". Thoughts?

It is nothing like 4E whatsoever, unless you mean from the DM's side.

It has the basic structure of any of the editions, but is more like a simplified version of 3.5, Just played our first adventure of it last week. I do LIKE how it plays, but it is going to take a bit of getting used to.

Yeah, they did make a few adjustments to it. I'm getting used to the system itself. I'm playing a Paladin currently, but I'm looking to Multiclass him to Artificier (Eberron) and some fighter. Might be an interesting combo I think.

As far as I know, it is the first time in a D&D edition that the Zombie Army of Doom from a Necromancer is impossible. You can never have more than a certain number of Undead under your control, you need Wraiths or other Mages as subordinates to have a real control over your army. A skeleton army of former soldiers would still be possible because they continue to do what they did in life, but Zombies stay in place without orders. And this is just one example, I like this kind of thought that was put into 5e in general.

Forget D&D and pathfinder, *Points to signature* Wild World Wrestling is where it's at.

seriously, though, I wanted to ask you all a question. How many of you seriously used the Book of Erotic fantasy in +18 games? I have in a couple games, but never in person. always through roll20.

Yeah, They really cleaned up some loopholes from fourth edition.  A couple of friends said fourth edition was a powergamers wet dream.  I couldn't see it.  I did like the card system though.  That was very helpful in knowing what you could use and what you had to use sparingly, etc.  Then again, their are some that would abuse that.

5th edition is nice and more well rounded.  We did a pre-written campaign for it.  Though A paladin trying to be a ninja is not so great.  lol.

I think the closest thing to that was what my DM called a "nookie check" in VTM. That's about as erotic as it got. XD

Never used the erotic book to be honest. My group and I use to talk a lot about politics and other non-D&D stuff before we start, some are married and more on the conservative side, so we don´t make it too *graphic* if opportunity knocks.

4ed was powergamer land. I have two players than can work with numbers and effects to vanish from plain sight or do ridiculous damage in 4ed, even the more grounded people in my group packed a mean punch. I liked the veteran and champion idea from that Edition though, but the fights simply took too long for it to work. If I want to play tabletop, I play a game of Battletech^^

Yeah. Their were drawbacks and benefits to Fourth Ed. I'm hoping the Artificier class can be converted to Fifth edition when I reach that.

Though I heard a Paladin/Bard Combo is quite. . . interesting.

Don´t know about in game posibilities with that combo, but a Paladin/Bard in a classic epic Chivalry campaign would be fitting and glorious, like Huma in the Dragonlance saga. I would like my team to play something like this, but they always end with shaddy characters like skirt hunting bards, stupid barbarians, cynic wooddwellers and calculating mercenaries so they rather end at the tip of the sword of Knights instead of the other way around.

so while I am looking for Humas and Wulfgars, I get Artemis Entreris and Dalamars most of the time.^^

Some of my old players want to get a new 4e group started up, and I'm all for it, but there's only three of us right now. I'm DMing, obviously, so that gives us two players, which...blargh. >_<

I need a way to talk my non-DnDing friends into DnDing.
