Tsunami/Earthquake in Japan Empty Tsunami/Earthquake in Japan

Post by Psychopatrick88 Fri Mar 11, 2011 12:12 pm

I know I haven't posted on here in a long while, but something has really been bothering me since last night, when I heard of a report of an 8.9 earthquake hitting Japan, and then going through a tsunami as well. 32 people have been confirmed dead, with a couple of hundred missing so far. I'm really kind of concerned, since I know a couple of people here actually live in Japan, or at least from what I remember they do. Yatori Shizuku in particular is one of those people, I believe. He's not online very often, so, it's difficult to come into contact with him typically, but can anyone confirm for me that he's alright, along with anyone else here who might be from Japan?

I read about that too. I believe it was northeastern Japan that got the tsunami, so it depends on where in Japan and how close to the coast they are. It's a crazy huge earthquake, though all things considered for one that size the death toll seems pretty low.

Yatori lives in the Philippines, so there's basically no danger to his life. His house might get swamped if he happens to live on the coast.

I don't know of anyone who actually lives in Japan on this board.

NEWS FLASH: the Archergurl who you speaking of is not part of AFW anymore and she's currently working in production for new game titles in Japan. I'm her Canadian friend who she gave her PC due to mines has crashed. She was nice enough to give it to me to help a friend in need. So she got a spared one that she uses for the things I've mention above. BTW, Anegge and Alexandra be sure to check the E-mail adresses carefully. As Archergurl and me aren't the same thing.

ah now I understand you're questions and concerns earlier.. I thought you were just talking in general.

As anegge said above... I'm 98% certain Yatori is from the Philipinese as I think he told me that's where he's from... he's got that as his country flag... and he struggles to Japanese kanji.. Philipinese is south from Japan so hopefully he should be ok.

All right. It's still sad what happened, but that's a little relief at least <img src=" title="Smile" />

Phew, that got me pretty worried for Yatori but now that we know he's in the Philippines I'm less so. Still I'm going to breathe a sigh of relief the next time he posts.

I don't really talk to Yatori, but I would hope that he's fine so I guess we just have to hope on that part. It was actually earthquakes and tsunamis; but the tsunamis did the most damage I think; or was it the quakes . . .well at least the damage wasn't worse. From what I hear, Tokyo was only affected in minor things like public transprtation, floding, and fortunately, not many deaths so far. I hear that some nearby countries didn't turn out so great though. ~

Sorry for worrying you, guys. I'm okay. Anegge-san and Kelsea-san are right; I live in the Philippines, deep inand and far from the shoreline. The only time I got flooded was during the typhoon from 2 years ago (we call it Ondoy here).

Thanks a lot for your concerns. I'm really glad you thought of me, and I apologize again.
