Inspiration?

All right...so I know that I generally like to take my inspiration for characters from songs...with Bea, Lilly, and the Elves being the exception....and a lot of characters that I have in mind are based on songs I have in mind....so I was just curious where everybody else likes to draw their inspiration from when they create their characters? Do you search for pics and let the inspiration hit you from there? Watch/read an anime/manga and say "hey that would be a good character!"....or do you like to consider that all of your ideas are original and of your own design? I'm just simply curious

Lobo already made a thread, so you can post on there if you liek ^ ^ or if you want to know the inspiration for some of the AFW characters.
