Re: Alaina Sanders vs. Misaki 'Maiden' Sakurazaki - Know Your Place
The crack of bone meeting bone filled the ring, though Maiden didn’t come away hurting quite as much as she did the last time she’d tried to strike the Amazon. Her hand was tingling, sure, but it seemed as if the lion’s share of the impact had gone exactly where it was supposed to.
Alaina dropped, and Maiden wasted no time in seizing the opportunity. Unlike earlier, she’d actually won matches with Pay Day before. It wasn’t a common thing, but often enough that she deemed her chances of victory with it sufficient.
Once more, she dropped, grabbed Alaina’s nearest leg, and leaned against her chest for the pinfall. The referee came down only a moment later, starting the count proper.
”1…!”

Re: Alaina Sanders vs. Misaki 'Maiden' Sakurazaki - Know Your Place
Alaina was out of it as Misaki pinned her and the count began! She groggily squirmed and tried to kick out to no avail!
"TWO!"
If the maid thought she could beat the amazon so quickly in a match she was mistaken, even if Alaina's fruitless efforts to kick out made it appear as if she was about to be beat in an upset. With a loud cry as the referee's hand raised back up she arched her back and broke out with a traditional back arch to break the pin attempt!

Re: Alaina Sanders vs. Misaki 'Maiden' Sakurazaki - Know Your Place
Alaina kicked out promptly, though Maiden was hardly dismayed. She hadn’t placed too much faith in an early victory here, and even if it didn’t get her the win, pinning the Amazon served a purpose. Every time she had to kick out, Alaina expended energy that would not be easily regained. It all worked to the good.
For now, Maiden controlled the pace, and she sought to ensure that didn’t change. Grabbing the Amazon’s hair, she started to stand up and yanked on it as she rose, forcing Alaina to stand along with her. She’d fought these strong, resilient types before, and she found the best way to defeat them was to drain their stamina, keep them in constant motion.

Re: Alaina Sanders vs. Misaki 'Maiden' Sakurazaki - Know Your Place
Alaina yelled out as her hair was yanked, forcing her up to a standing position. She grabbed at Misaki's hands to try to pry them off her locks, and managed to alleviate a little pressure. As the two stood Alaina felt like she had enough of the little maid, and the amazon sent a fast toe kick to her abdomen to try to get free of her grasp!
Alaina may have been a big lady who focused on hard slams but Misaki was about to find out that she wasn't lacking for stamina or drive. Right now, Alaina felt the need to win, to send a message to Gwendolyn, to face Gwendolyn again in a fair fight that didn't have a triple threat stipulation or a paid off referee who fudged a count.

Re: Alaina Sanders vs. Misaki 'Maiden' Sakurazaki - Know Your Place
Maiden’s plan had been to get Alaina standing, then work her over with a series of quick but punishing strikes to the face. Wreck her equilibrium, then set her up for a finishing move, perhaps. Amazon or not, excessive head trauma would put her down like anyone else.
Sadly, this was not to be. She had just started to move in when a toe kick to the stomach stopped her efforts cold. The blow hit with enough force to lift Maiden off her feet, and when they touched the mat again, she crumbled and fell to a knee, grabbing her stomach and wincing from the pain.
One moment. That was all that it took to change the dynamic.

Re: Alaina Sanders vs. Misaki 'Maiden' Sakurazaki - Know Your Place
Alaina eyed Misaki like a predator stalking prey. She wanted to put a hurting on the maid while being able to recover. To that end the amazon wrapped a powerful arm around her foes head and pulled er up to a standing position. Alaina grunted as she picked Misaki up and held her as if she were doing a delayed vertical suplex.
Instead, Alaina angled herself straight down allowing the height along with gravity to deal the damage as she attempted to hammer home a brain buster on Misaki!

Re: Alaina Sanders vs. Misaki 'Maiden' Sakurazaki - Know Your Place
Maiden was hardly a heavy wrestler, being not a pound over 140. All the same, she had to admire the strength with which Alaina used to lift her up, the speed and deftness used to execute the maneuver. For a moment, as she felt that iron arm wrap around her head, she felt like a little child in her parent’s grasp, hefted up with ease, manipulated with no problem by the Amazon.
At first, she thought it would only be a simple vertical suplex. A moment later, she found herself wishing that was all it was.
Alaina dropped and nailed Maiden’s head into the mat like a railspike, making the ring quiver from the impact. It sent a shock throughout the Angel’s body, head to toe, and the only thing she could do after being released was flop onto her back and lay there. Hurting. Stunned. Still, save for the occasional spasm.

Re: Alaina Sanders vs. Misaki 'Maiden' Sakurazaki - Know Your Place
Alaina saw Misaki flop on the mat and quickly covered her up for a pin, hooking a leg and pinning the maid!
"ONE!"
"There is a reason maids don't belong in the ring with amazons my dear..." Alaina said to Misaki as she covered her for the pin. Normally she didn't talk trash like that but the more she could do to get underneath Gwendolyns skin the better. Still, Alaina did have to hand it to Misaki... the girl flat out knew how to fight even if it was up to Alaina to do a better job of that inside this ring.

Re: Alaina Sanders vs. Misaki 'Maiden' Sakurazaki - Know Your Place
Maiden would give Alaina more credit - not verbally, but she made a mental note. Many wrestlers in the AFW tended to ignore pins, saving them for the last minute or so of the match, when they’d worn their opponents down to a nub. She had the intelligence of a champion, at least, going for the pin when the opportunity was presented to her.
Not that it would work, mind you. But it was a good effort, all the same.
Maiden was hurting, in serious pain, but her many years of experience came with certain benefits. One of them was that her body knew what it meant when someone was pinning her to the floor, and what it needed to do in such an instance, even if her brain wasn’t 100% aware.
Maiden shot her shoulder up at the last moment, just as the referee’s hand was coming towards the canvas, narrowly avoiding the loss. How much time that would buy her remained to be seen.

This pesky little maid....
Alaina was surprised when she kicked out, but not totally shocked. As Alaina got to her feet she pulled Misaki up as well, planning more high impact offense. With a groan Alaina would try to grab hold of Sienna by the shoulder and hip attempting to lift her straight up overhead!
Alaina wanted to press her up and down a couple times before completing the military press slam!
