Tempest Tournament Semifinals: Gabbie Desjardin Vs. Hisui Tokaji

Hisui managed to pull back Gabbie and bring in her right back in for a drop kick. Her tactic was successful and her Canadian counterpart was sent down to the canvas. Despite getting the advantage, the Japanese wrestler knew that she would need to go all out and not hold anything back. Grabbing the straps with both hands she would attempt to get behind her opponent. If she could, Hisui would then attempt to place the strap around Gabbie's neck while trying to place one foot on her back. This would then be followed by her pulling back and attempting to strangle her opponent. If she could knock out her foreign opponent, then winning the match would become a simple task.

Gabbie was just starting to push up to her hands and knees when she felt Hisui's weight force her back down. Worse yet, the tight leather strap wrapped around her neck and quickly began to constrict her air.

"Hrrrrkkkk!?"

Her eyes bulged and she squirmed, pawing at the strap as she writhed and snorted through her nose. She felt like she was in a pretty hopeless situation as she began to panic inwardly. However, she still struggled mightily.

The maid tactic had worked, she was now strangling her opponent, trying to knock her out. She could feel her opponent trying to fight back, struggling to escape. Yet Hisui would continue to pull back, trying to make sure that her opponent would be out cold. The referee would come in and pay close attention to the two wrestlers. Usually, such a move would be illegal but in a strap match, strangling your opponent was perfectly legal, hence Hisui use of the tactic. Though legal, the audience did not like it and would start to cheer for Gabbie to escape out of it.

Gabbie continued to paw desperately at the strap as she could feel her energy slowly being sapped from her body. Her face was beet red and her head was shivering and as her arms drooped from the strap she knew that point of resistance was futile.

Trying to suck as much air as she could, she instead pushed her palms into the mat and tried to pull her legs under her. If she could manage, she would try and push up to all fours and then lurch forward, hoping to be able to dump Hisui off her.

Hisui continued to pull back, intent on totally cutting off Gabbie air supply. She could feel her opponent resisting and fighting back but that just meant she would deplete her oxygen sooner. If she could knock out her opponent from this, then she could get an easy win.

Yet just when things seemed to be going her way, Gabbie would push back, making Hisui loose balance and fall to the ground as she lost her grip on her opponent. The red head wrestler would attempt to quickly roll on her stomach before moving a bit forward towards the turnbuckle, intent on using it to help herself get back to her feet.

Even if Gabbie was free, she wasn't even going to think about going after Hisui. As she coughed and sputtered, she just wanted to get air back in her lungs. She only even looked up because she saw the strap slide around as Hisui climbed to her feet using the turnbuckle. Gabbie reached her hands out and gripped the strap, making sure that at the very least Hisui couldn't use it to totally throw Gabbie off guard.

The maid attack had failed, she had planned on knocking out her opponent with such a maneuver but Gabbie had managed to escape. The maid got up and saw that her foreign opponent was now holding onto the strap, making it harder to use. If the maid wanted to use the strap again, she would need to soften up her opponent first. Yet an attack she performed could be sent off guard by Gabbie pulling on the strap, thus, the maid would also get a good grip on the strap to even out the odds before attempting to charge forward in what look to be a clothesline before she would twist her body and attempt a super kick aimed right at her opponent head in hopes of gaining control of the match again.

Gabbie was still on her knees when Hisui charged at her. She wasn't in a position to do much about a cross body or something like that, but with her hands gripping the strap, she thought she might even have a chance to withstand that!

When she saw the kick coming, however, Gabie flopped backwards, letting the kick sail over her head. She then rolled to the side as much as she could and let herself get tangled up in the strap, taking away all of the slack as Hisui's momentum carried her, but leaving Gabbie partially wrapped up in the strap.

Gabbie knew it was a precarious position, but she was also sure it wasn't going to be much fun for Hisui either.

Hisui charged forward at what would first look like a clothesline before shifting her weight and trying to go for a superkick. Yet to her surprise Gabbie managed to dodge the kick but it seemed the kick perhaps did something as her Canadian counterpart seemed to have gotten herself tangled up as feel to the floor. Though her attack had not hit, her opponent was still technically down, so in a way, it could be considered that her attack had worked. Deciding to press her advantage, she would now start to run towards Gabbie before attempting a brutal soccer kick on her, hoping to keep the Canadian down.

Gabbie was not really in a position to roll away anymore. Her arms were loosely bound, but at least the slack would make it so that Hisui had no room to navigate. However, she could still rear back and when Gabbie instinctively brought her arms up, she couldn't pull them from the strap and turned her body as much as she could, coughing when the boot slammed into her side.

"Ouuuough!"

Gabbie twisted and writhed, trying to cast off the straps and wriggle free while her side burned with pain.
