Style/Strategy: While the ring is not her natural field, Astrid is still plenty familiar with the squared circle. In any match, she’ll resort to mind games with her opponent, often using her big mouth and showboating antics to try and rile her opponent into making a fatal mistake. Her years inside both the ring and octagon have made her rather adept at submission holds, which makes them a favorite category of moves to use. Her strikes, while still strong, are not usually enough to guarantee significant enough damage to render her opponent helpless. Often, Astrid will fight back until there is no more fight left in her or she fears an injury that would sideline her. Astrid’s most powerful weapons are her legs. In hentai matches, she’ll rely on her submission moves to put her opponent in prone positions for her wandering hands to fondle.

Turntable – A borderline finisher, Astrid hooks her arm back across her opponent’s neck and then swings her opponent’s body across her back where she captures their legs to lock in a back breaker rack. She will then proceed to spin about until her opponent submits or Astrid tires of doing the maneuver.

Spotlight Suplex – A Northern Lights suplex that Astrid usually bridges into a pin.

Sound Check – Thusly named because of the shouts of agony... and sometimes pleasure the opponent makes when trapped between Astrid’s legs in either a body or head scissors. She’ll often use her opponent’s vulnerability to tease or play with them if not deliver a few body blows.

Finishers

The Opening Act – With an opponent facedown, Astrid will pull their arm between her legs as she sits on their back, clenching the arm between her legs. She will then pull her opponent’s leg into a half-Boston Crab. Astrid will usually use this in Hentai matches to get free access to her opponent’s womanhood.

Hexatonic Choke Hold – A move that can spring up out of nowhere, Astrid performs a triangle choke hold, immediately followed by her humming Suzzanna’s favorite song to cover, “I Put a Spell on You.” If her opponent doesn’t immediately tap, she’ll demand a microphone be brought to her, where she’ll taunt both her opponent and the crowd until the opponent submits or passes out.

Astrid has always been, first and foremost, a woman with both business and fun on her mind. Her entire life has been centered on ensuring both of those appetites are satiated. Inheriting her business sense and promoting skills from her father and her showmanship from her mother, Astrid is a silver-tongued managerial powerhouse. Of course, she’s no pushover in the ring. Astrid has been known to be tenacious when backed into a corner. During her brief time in the octagon, the Platinum Princess made a name for herself having never taken a loss via verbal submission. Of course that cost her quite a few knockouts and injuries, but she takes pride in that stubbornness of hers. Overall, the words that best describe her are personable, entertaining, determined, ambitious, and conniving.

History:
Peter Kernuish was a small time music producer when he found his first big act, a beautiful platinum blonde woman with a big, sultry voice singing at a blues bar in Nashville. It wasn’t very long before the two fell in love and got married. Their first child was a beautiful little girl who was a spitting image of her mother. She was brought up in the studio with both parents and was exposed to both sides of the business as a result. At the age of 14, she provided guest vocals for some tracks off of her mother’s first platinum certified record since having her two children. It was when this happened, that her parents started referring to her as their little Platinum Princess.

At the age of 19, her father tasked her with trying to befriend and sign 21 year-old up-and-coming talent in the indie jazz music scene. Thinking it would be easy, she approached Suzzanna after a gig, but was stopped by a rival producer who filled the jazz singer’s head with lies that prompted her to angrily kick Astrid out of the venue. Determined not to fail her father, Astrid staked out her target the next night and eventually followed the woman to a local bar. She waited about an hour before entering, where she found Suzzanna and a few of the other acts from the previous night enjoying their liquor. With confidence and patience on her mind, she approached the golden blonde, drunken jazz singer and calmly challenged her to a bet. The two would arm wrestle. If Suzzanna won, then Astrid would leave her alone and that would be the end of it all, but if Astrid won, then Suzzanna would have to come to her father’s studio and record a few demo tracks.

Astrid easily handled Suzzanna’s intoxicated attempt to pin her arm. However, the jazz singer was infuriated by the result and claimed Astrid of taking advantage of her state, which wasn’t untrue. Spying a mud pit at the back of the bar, Suzzanna challenged Astrid to a mud wrestling match. The platinum blonde was hesitant, but accepted since she was determined to win over Suzzanna. The two had a hellacious brawl in the pit that eventually turned into the two giggling a bit as they traded positions. The “match” ended with Suzzanna on top, but the two shared a drink after hosing off and soon became quick friends.

The Platinum Princess held to her name and led her new friend to the success of a double platinum certified record. Suzzanna decided to return the favor of finding success by showing her the ropes in a ring, something that the jazz artist had been brought up doing as the daughter of a former wrestler from the New Orleans area. Astrid wasn’t outstanding in the ring, but enjoyed it enough to take Suzzana’s encouragement to take part in a few indie events, where her showmanship got her over more than her rather average skills. A manager at one event caught wind of the raw mic talent Astrid had and decided to try and turn it into a gimmick where she would apply submission holds and cut promos to taunt her opponent and the audience. Astrid grew to love this new hobby, but the exposure didn’t get her the kind of payday she received while producing under her father’s label.

Faced with a tough decision of keeping both loves coexisting, Astrid quit the wrestling scene. A year went by without a moment in a ring apart from spars that she and Suzzanna would have to distract them from recording and performance ruts. The platinum beauty was soon approached by an indie MMA promoter desperate to draw an audience. Under a part-time deal, Astrid would enter the octagon a handful of times in real fights, but her true job was to inspire crowds to show up and bet on the matches by cutting harsh promos during press conferences and post-match interviews. The pay was great no matter the outcome, but it was evident that she was outclassed by talents with true passion for the art of fighting. After one particularly brutal loss to a Venezuelan woman, she was approached by two men and her opponent from earlier. The one man, a silver-haired, undefeated individual was retiring from MMA and going back to Japan to return to wrestling. The other two were going to follow him when their contracts were up and wanted Astrid to consider joining them and be their mouthpiece.

The prospect of returning to wrestling where she wouldn’t necessarily have her ass kicked 90% of the time she stepped onto a mat and still be paid handsomely was tempting. Struggling with the decision, she asked her trainer and client, Suzzanna, what she would do in Astrid’s place, knowing that the girl had a passion for her producing job as well. Suzzanna’s response was to the point, “Go for it.” Bringing the news to her father and mother was met with mixed reactions. In the end, Peter decided to use this opportunity to try and expand the label to Japan where Astrid would head up the operations when not occupied with her wrestling career. With that, the Platinum Princess made her way to Japan and the world of AFW’s Friction.
