Carmen really did hate cursing, but after her first, hellacious, title defense against Clyde T. Gastin and Belle B. Barker, polite words would not do. Carmen frankly felt like shit. She looked like shit. So did Army, and Clyde, and probably Belle, too - not that she cared all that much in that last case.

Fortunately, if there was one thing the AFW excelled at, it was providing care for their employees. At least, outside of the ring. Almost as soon as the match was over, the medical staff descended on everyone involved and made sure they got all the attention they needed. Carmen was taken to one of the vans they had set up out front especially for her, while a crew of three asked her questions, poked and prodded, and gave her some medication to soothe the pain.

It didn't seem like she'd taken any life threatening damage, but she'd be spending the night at a hospital, and she would be out of action for a couple of weeks, at the earliest. The wrapping around her arm and the hazy look in her eyes made that painfully obvious.

When the staff was finished with her, Carmen took a seat on the bed in the back of the medical van and started to take her clothes off, switching over to a medical frock while she waited for them to finish taking care of Army. The 24/7 Belt sat on her lap, where it belonged, and she looked down on it with a satisfied smile. She’d fought for it. Bled for it. Broken bones for it. Now, she really felt like the 24/7 Champion, and she was more than ready to stay that way for as long a time as she could manage.

After she went home, locked her door, and took a long, long sleep.
