Extended Family Visitation

Oh Canada! Alaina's second cousins who she went to highschool with all ended up moving out here. Oddly enough they all got along famously well. Julie ended up marrying a Canadian IT guy and moved with him to his home country. Mark ended up getting a job with Julie's husband. While Alaina was the jock of the group they all shared a common, upbeat personality. Thats probably why they got along so well.

However, being non-wrestlers meant that training had to be a solo undertaking. It was mid-afternoon when Alaina slipped away from a movie showing with the family to work on training. Her career was on the cusp of something big. She could feel it. She could practically feel that Entropy belt around her waist.... all she needed was one more shot at it someday and thats where the work in the dojo came in. She knew with Taylor, Akashi, and Nik showing her the ropes she couldn't possibly blow another shot at gold.

She wasn't sure if she would be recognized here, but she slipped into the locker room and came out in her leopard print sports bra, briefs, kneepads and boots ready to get some mat training in today. Running the ropes was the devil, but damn was it a great training exercise. Alaina stepped out ready to go, and hell.... if there were other women here wrestling she might even try to get a nice spar going. Hell, she'd take on a guy if it meant a more effective training day.

Already there was Jesse, as she was ending a workout of her own. She noticed Alaina but had to take an extra look to be sure it was who she thought it was. She wondered what Alania was doing here since it isn't everyday an outsider was at Kei's training gym. She guessed it might have to do Alaina's recent match with Kei, but couldn't tell what her intentions were.

She slowly approaches her, calling Alaina by name, and asking her if she is looking for Kelly by any chance, which Jesse refers to Kei by her real name. If Alaina said anything about not knowing who that was she would mention her in-ring name but had a feeling Alaina knew.

"Wha.. oh? Hey there..." Alaina said as she saw Jesse. What were the chances that this would be her home training gym? Alaina took a breath as she nodded to Jesse.

"I was actually in town visiting some of my exteneded family, looking to trian while I was here. I guess its just by luck that I stumbled into Kei's gym huh?" Alaina stated, followed by some nervous laughter. She wasn't sure how well received she would be here after their hardcore match. Honestly, Alaina couldn't remember much of the ending. "I don't suppose that Kei is in the building now is she?"

"She should be. Last I saw she was heading to her office." she tells her while pointing in its general direction. She wasn't sure if Kei would be doing some working out of her own while she was here now, but had a feeling at some point today she would.

"Ok thanks a lot." Alaina said with a nod as she made her way to the office, hoping to see Kei. First, she wanted to apologize for the insults before and during their match. Alaina wasn't usually that type of person, but their meeting wasn't a typical introduction which led to Alaina not being her usual self.

Depending on how the apology went, Alaina also wanted to discuss their match with Kei...........

If Alaina didn't try to get Kei's attention should would be waiting for sometime as Kei was working on a couple of things. The door was unlocked though so if Alaina wanted to stick her head in there technically she could do that.

Alaina walked up to the office door and waited a second. What would she say? Would Kei even want to hear it? A thousand different thoughts raced through Alaina's mind as she opened the door and saw Kei. "Uh, hey Kei... how've you been?" Alaina asked, much more sheepishly than she had wanted to.

Alaina wanted to say more, but for the moment she stayed quiet. Kei's response to her initial question would tell her a lot about how Kei felt about her, and how to best pursue the rest of the conversation.

When she looked up and Alaina, Kei looked a bit surprised. She didn't look or sound hostile, but she clearly wasn't expecting seeing Alaina here. "Uh, okay I guess. What brings you here? This is a bit unexpected."

Jesse watched Alaina from when she got to the door to when Alaina and Kei started talking. She is about to leave the workout area, but wonders what Alaina wants.

Alaina took a deep breath, she figured it was now or never and she had to speak her mind. "So Kei, about our match..... I know neither of us probably saw that particular ending coming. However, early on you had me down and out laying on the floor defeated. Instead of pinning me, you took a few family photos then moved in for the pin after a minute. Any earlier and you would have won. However, no matter how hard I tried to come back and what I did you were never ready to be pinned." Alaina had been bothered by that... while it was a draw Alaina knew she had it taken right to her by a woman nearly 20 years her senior.

Should it have bothered her the way it did? Probably not, but it just..... did. Alaina always wondered what she would say to Kei if she ever saw her again. She felt the need to prove that she could hang with her. While it wasn't so much proving herself to Kei, she felt the need to prove herself to herself more than anything, to reaffirm that she did have what it took to be in Friction.

"Since I am here and already dressed for the occasion maybe we could spar or do a couple challenges like I dunno, anything wrestling related or both?" Alaina asked, an eager gleam in her eye. She'd be up for anything from the spar by itself to the spar coupled with arm wrestling, rope running and something like that chop challenge. Whatever it was, Alaina was going to do her best.

When she had the change to jump in, Kei told her there were things she did in that match, one of them being that, she might have done differently or not at all. Part of her wouldn't mind going back in time and doing that whole thing over again, but overall has no regrets about it given all that she has been through to get to that one. Even with that she feels that Alaina did well believes that Alaina will continue to find success if she keeps at it, noting her record. She mentioned that before Alaina could mention that she wanted to do something with her.

Kei was a bit surprised to hear Alaina wanted more of her. Granted things in the match they had could have left an empty feeling since it didn't end in anyone's favour, but Kei could tell that Alaina wanted to prove something, even though Kei kind of hinted that Alaina has nothing to prove to her. Still, if Alaina came all this way it wouldn't feel right to turn her down and send her on her way without anything.

She mentioned to Alaina that she can tell what Alaina's intent is and tells her bluntly that if she wants to prove herself that there's no need to, Kei already knows that Alaina is good. That and today was one of her non-ring days, one of those where she would avoid doing anything physical that is wrestling related, like a mandatory rest day, but that didn't mean she wouldn't work out or not help others. For someone who has been in there pretty much all of her life, after her match with Yamato she could finally fully appreciate time away from the ring and not feel like she is missing out on something. That and she was planning on heading out not too long from now.

Still, she wanted to see if there was anything that could be done to satisfy Alaina's eagerness, even if it meant having her wait a bit longer.
