Thoughts on Avengers: Age of Ultron

My main problem is that even old mythical heroes weren't just ideals of heroism. they all had flaws and problems. They weren't just the pinnacle of heroism.

Achilles was a cocky douchebag who had no care for his people, Hou Yi own love for Humans and the world cost him his godhood. Sigurd's trusting nature caused people to take advantage of him, rob him of his true love and later led to his death at the hands of that woman. Hell Heracles accidentally killed his teacher who was a god! well..titan, though Immortal. So yeah. For Centuries we tend to remember people who were great despite their faults, more so than heroes who where just great.

I will note though, I know why they killed off quicksilver. Well I have my theory at least. It's cause 20th Century fox is gonna use Quicksilver in future movies as well, and they want to avoid confusion. At least I think that is the reasoning. It def didn't feel like a choice that had been planned out from the beginning of filming.

Or since the Infinity Gauntlet is in Question here, we might be getting him back. It's rumored that Scarlet Witch and/or Quicksilver may be in Inhumans, as that is what they are now.

Nah they killed him off cause they had a few disposable characters and needed someone to die. Marvel was allowed to use him on the condition that no mention of mutants, magneto, or the xmen were made. and vice versa for fox.

Oh! Your comments about Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver reminded me of another thing! I want them to give SW her chaos magic, not just the telekinesis and mental stuff they shoehorned her with. Her mutant ability was probability manipulation, but her Chaos magic was something entirely different. I get that they cant call her a mutant, but that doesn't mean she can't have powers.

With the addition of Dr.Strange coming up though, magic should be coming into the equation. I can't imagine how they could possibly do Dr.Strange as anything other than a magic user, without completely bastardizing his character.

They already ruined magic in the MCU with the first Thor movie. ~_~

I have no doubt we will be exploring chaos magic once Doctor Strange is introduced. Rumor has it that she will learn her inherent magic ability from Stephen.

As for thor, the Asgardians used an advanced form of technology. It was merley viewed as magic by norsemen, and jane refers to it as scientific technology. Thor is a cosmic hero in the MCU. He's an alien, not a god.

I always just kinda took that as Thor explaining that Magic and science for his people was the same thing. That everything they had worked off magic stuff.

Oh yeah, I know that they were allowed to use Quicksilver.

I am not arguing against that, but you can't say it's not a bit confusing for the everyday moviegoer to see Quicksilver in two different movies ? Played by two different actors ? at around the same time ? xD

Magic IS confirmed for Doctor Strange. This is our official introduction to the mystical corner of the marvel universe.

I hear that fox may reboot the xmen universe after apocolypse, deadpool, and wolverine 3. I doubt it but if it's true, the xmen may join the mcu.

Confirmed? YESSSSS! Here's to hoping that SW gets her magic training from the Dr!

My take on the magic/science in Thor was the same as Sleeper's. Too advanced so the Norse called it magic. That reminds me, maybe Loki will get magic too then? Rather than just his silly illusions
