Kawaii Opportunities

Sun Jun 17, 2018 7:04 am by Daaharu

Hey, guys!

With the kawaii title match at Avalanche taking on an interesting wrinkle with the interruption by the Brat Pack, we are moving forward with the overall kawaii storyline, and at this point I'd just like to take stock of what kawaiis are out there that are interested in participating in a cohesive storyline.

Can't make any promises about titles or what exactly each girl's given role would be. We can talk a little more about the specifics of where the story is going soon, but I …

Match or RP?

Wed Jun 13, 2018 7:48 am by Lotuswarrior

I'm just looking to do something while I wait for match replies. Really want to get some characters cemented a bit with a rival or some interactions with other characters here.

If anyone wants to do something hit me up.

Match for Takeichi

Mon Jun 11, 2018 10:13 pm by GrandAkumaShogun

So with my other two guys having their own matches I figure I should do something with my first character on here, Takeichi Mori. If anyone is interested feel free to post here or get in touch through a pm so we can plan it out. I can either have Takeichi remain a jobber or begin to work him towards being a more serious competitor.

Defense: ★ ★ ★ ★
Technique: ★ ★ ★ ½

Favored moves: Spear, Powerbombs, German Suplexes, Arm Drags, Rest Holds, Power based moves

Momentum Builders/Signatures:

  • Spear - Pretty simple, outside the ring, its a full charge followed by a tackle equivalent to a 300 lb linebacker sacking the 150 lb Quarterback during a blitz. In the ring he has it modified where he tackles his foe in the four corners first before going for the final "sack".

  • Spinebuster - A very effective, yet simple move he uses.  The approach can happen one of two ways: One the opponent is charging at him already, or two, he Irish Whips his opponent to the ropes for the momentum build up.  If the execution is handled successfully, Sean hoists his foe in the air by their thighs to keep support, pivots 180 degrees to maintain the momentum build and slams his foe onto the mat with all of his might.

    Result Reference:

  • Tri-German Suplex: One of his more popular moves, Sean latches his arms around his foes waist and hoists them over him to drop them on their shoulders.  Keeping a firm grip around their waist, Sean brings his target back to theri feet with him and repeats the same move for a second time, then finally after hoisting them to their feet one more time, uses all of his might and energy to slam the target on the mat letting them "bounce" on the mat by their shoulders and head upon release.  This one is his more popular maneuver used and tends to get he fans going when he starts it.

  • Clear Placha - Despite being about 230lbs, Sean is capable of some high flying techniques.  With this one, Sean watches his foe who is outside the ring waiting for them to get to their feet.  Upon seeing them get up, Sean moves to the opposite side of the ring to bounce off the ropes for more momentum and charges fully towards his target diving over the ropes and using his body to crash on to his intended target knocking them down.  Very rarely does he use this move since it's an extremely high risk move in itself.

    Result Reference:

Finishing Moves:

  • Dragon Sleeper - Usually when the opponent is one the ground and he wraps his arm around their neck and the other around the outside hand for control of the situation. Sometimes, he'll switch it into a full body squeeze with his legs around their waist keeping the opponent anchored.

  • Diving Headbutt - The only time he uses this move is whenever there is a place for him to climb to and risk it all. Normally in the Four sided Ring. Other places are too risky. When this does come into play, his body is thrown into a swan dive. The targeted area of this move is generally the abdominal region since its the most vulnerable. Though depending on the position, it could become a little more "erotic". However, this is rare. (Dubbed Flight or Fright by the fans)

  • Driving Clothesline - A move he uses sparingly, Sean prefers to keep this as a last result or element of surprise.  Either by an Irish Whip from the foe or his own momentum build between the ropes, Sean charges at his target, grimacing his arm back for the windup and drives his arm to his foes body while using his body to add extra damage falling with his foe from the execution of the move.  This is usually followed up by Sean pinning his opponent with his body and offensive keeping the targets shoulders on the mat.

  • Fall Forward Powerbomb - Generally he doesn't use this too often. When he does, he throws his whole body into the attack, lifting the opponent on to his shoulders, lifting the target high off his shoulders before dropping them hard on their back with his whole body falling forward to the motion. Sometimes he goes in for the pin if he feels it is the right time to. Other times he sets it up like a Piledriver just to get his opponent squirming first before possibly switching it to this trademark of his. (Many call it the Ishimi Driver)

Visual Appearance:

Physical Appearance:

Personality: Earnest, creative, sensible, calm, Sean is quite shy and tries to get the job done himself no matter what. Despite these traits he tries to avoid conflict if at all possible (Grudge matches mainly) and tries to be friendly and courteous to both genders despite the competition. He does tend to get worked up when things get too stressful for himself. Other traits for his personality include Fastidious, and over earnest.

Despite being a big guy for his size, Sean has the intellect of a philosopher. Advice, tips and pointers seems to be a part of his trade in some cases. Although not very social, if someone truly gets to know him, they would see his true colors amidst the cool exterior. He is quite the fast learner when it comes to knowledge and studies.

Past/History: Growing up out of the Red Hook District in New York City, Sean Ishimi had it rough from the start.  At home, he was being raised by a single mother who did everything she could to insure he had a brighter, better future.  Much of his morals, values and code of honor originates from his mother's teachings.  In Academics, despite excelling in his courses; Sean was the quiet one.  At the same time, he was a target for bullying.  Stuffed in lockers, stumbling in the cafeteria wearing mashed potatoes; it wasn't until he was introduced to Amateur Wrestling in Jr. High that the bullying ceased.  Primarily due to having an entire team behind him for support.  The JV and Varsity Wrestling team became his second family during the latter years of Academia, and he learned how to harness some of the emotional baggage into a competitive spirit.  It has been believed this was the first time he learned to feed from the moral support of others.  His wrestling brothers being the biggest ones.  This was carried onward through his time in college and even training in the world of professional wrestling.  Sean however, never believed he would become such a household name in the united states, nor did he imagine he would become a commodity in japan.  Most of his time he acted as a Jobber for others.  However, the officials did see potential in the quiet competitor.

Six years ago, he enlisted himself to the Tension Division of AFW testing his limits and capabilities against others.  At the time, the division was supported by the top Managers AFW could offer.  The battlegrounds was similar to a Greenwich Street Fight where falls counted anywhere.  No matter where you went your guard had to be up at all times.  You had to be prepared for a match which could be scheduled any day of the week with little to no warning.  The roster wasn't anything spectacular (unlike the Friction Division), however the experience hardened him as a fighter and a competitor.  His record prior to his disappearance spoke for itself.  4 Victories Overall (2 Official, 2 Unofficial), and one loss.  Their was some records indicating he did compete in the League Tournament however the records appear to not show what the results were.  The fans remember him as "The Silent Wall"; a nickname given to him due to his quiet nature and physique.

The most noted of matches were three specific ones where he faced two legendary Wrestle Angels competitors; Chigusa Yuuki, and Megumi Mutoh.  Out of the match up, he gained recognition and improved himself as a wrestler and competitor.  Ultimately their was a friendly rivalry between the three of them.  It isn't anything serious like a grudge, but he holds a great deal of respect to both of them.  If it wasn't for the two going toe to toe with him, he would possibly remain a nameless entry.

Ultimately, Sean disappeared after his matches.  What truly happened is not known, however, their have been sightings of the Silent Wall competing in independent circuits around the world, and possibly New Japan/All Japan as well.  His knowledge and intellect seem something that could be quite useful. Although he may be a powerhouse, he isn't stupid. Many see him as more of a threat than an ally due to this. His previous matches in the United States had led to him gaining the upper hand mostly. Using the surroundings to his advantage. Weather it was the Barricade, the stairs, the corners, the ring, or any other location in an arena.

Finally, he has returned to Tension Division, where it all began for him after a six year hiatus.  But it begs to answer one question:  Why now?  Did someone spend a great deal of time tracking him down so he could finish his career?  Or perhaps it was by his own whim to see what has changed?  Either way, the conclusion is still the same:  The Silent Wall has returned and business, as Commentator Jim Ross would say, is about to pick up.

Wrestling Attire:  As pictured in the actual images above, Sean prefers the comforts of loose fitted clothing.

Fun Facts:

  • Despite the fact that he wrestles in loose fitted clothing, Sean prefers not to remove his shirt.  He believes that his own physique would be far too distracting from the actual match, and prefers to keep both the audience and his opponent their undivided attention on what is going on with the match.

  • Sean tends to find comfort in munching on Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream when he is in the mood for it.

  • Some of his other activities include jogging, swimming, and some R and R on the beach.

  • Although he is involved in a division that promotes mixed wrestling, Sean will never lay a hand on his female foes due to his moral code of honor about striking others.  The only exception to this personal rule of his would be using a clothesline or a dropkick every so often.  He will never slap or punch a woman primarily out of respect.  However, he will using a flying lariat or two.

  • Out of reflex, Sean tends to be one guard whenever he's alone.  Mainly due to his experiences with Tension back when it was known as Sex Wars.  Slightly a bit of paranoia on his part thinking someone could attack him at any given time with a referee at the ready.  IT would take some work to break him of the habit.

  • Despite his career statistics even outside of his brief tenure with AFW, Sean has never competed for a championship.  Some hint that it was offered but he turned them down focusing on simple feuds and matches instead.  Holding a personal preference to being a working Mechanic over a walking target.

  • Contrary to what is recorded on the bill, Sean Ishimi is not his real name.  (Note: if the subject comes up IC and he trusts you enough, he may reveal it.)
