Gimme Some Sunshine

Bonnie Gastin had been down in the dumps for the longest time. Home was no longer as happy as it used to be but work was officially the worst place to go. She dreaded going to Friction now, always afraid of what disaster would befall her and her family next. Her fight with Allison had wounded her spirit and found herself stuck at home sulking in guilt and her own shortcomings. Failing to defeat Allison and wrongfully hurting Emily... And now recently, her girlfriend suffered an assault against the Brit while trying to calling her out.  Bonnie had cried hard watching her girlfriend get brutally dismantled while trying to avenge her.

She felt like a loser. She felt weak. She didn't even know why she was here in AFW anymore, she sucked and hated herself for being so weak, dumb and talentless, she couldn't protect her lover, her brother or her friends, let alone keep any...

Bonnie stormed down the hallway and kicked the door open to the locker room in a fit, it was late and no TV showing tonight. She arrived with a bag and strolled over to her locker, getting the damn thing open as she began to hurriedly clean the place out, stuffing extra pads, sweat bands, skinny jeans, a sports bra, pictures and whatever else she had in there. Roughly and carelessly shoving it her bag angrily as tears began to steadily stream down her face.

She didn't want to just quit like this. She wanted to get better. She could do it. She could show Allison. She could turn Emily around. She didn't have to be a horrible person. She could...

"MOTHER! FUCKERRR!!" Bonnie cried in a burst of anger, flinging her backpack against the locker room wall, screaming in a fury before she slumped to her knees against her locker and sobbed softly, her forehead mashed against the steel frame as her tears stained the concrete floor below.

Jess was already a few drinks into the night when she swung by Friction to get her purse from her locker.

"Hey, girl!" Her gentle, easy-going voice seemed to neutralize some of the venom in Bonnie's sobs. She walked up to her locker, not far from Bonnie's, and opened it on the second try.

"Bad night, huh?" She said sympathetically, gazing to the side at the blonde.

Bonnie was too busy sulking in her dark little place to hear the door open, when she heard the familiar voice of the California native, she gasped and picked her head up quickly, turning around to see...

"J-Jess!" Bonnie exclaimed, quickly turning back around to wipe her face free of the tears as best she could. "W-Wh-What's up?" She said in between her sniffling.

"...Oh...N-Naw..." Bad week. Several bad months she meant.

She then grew quiet for a moment, didn't say a thing until finally it came out. "I ain't cryin'."

Jess smiled faintly and laughed inwardly. "Oh, I know," she nodded, and grabbed her purse. She smashed her locker shut again and strolled over to Bonnie.

"So are you just rehearsing for a play, then? 'Cause... If this is your idea of a good time..." She said with a twinkle in her eye as she folded her arms over her chest and leaned back against the locker next to Bonnie's.

Bonnie's own forced smile twitched. She wasn't a good liar and she could tell Jess didn't buy it. Still, Bonnie was happy to see someone she considered a friend, someone she found to be just plain pleasant! And hot too. But still, a friendly face. And Bonnie didn't have too many of those these days.

"Y-Yeah... It's a play called... Called... Uhm..." She had nothing. "How ya been and watcha up ta' if ya dont mind me asking? Heh." Seeing Jess was grand but it made her think of the party, which made Bonnie think of Taylor. That was another sore spot to add to her already battered self.

"I know how ta have a better time than this, ya know?" She said with a forced laugh.

"Oh, totally, for sure," Jess nodded, and then added, almost under her breath "And giiiirl, I'm just getting warmed up for tonight..."

She opened her purse and picked through it for a moment, and then closed it and looked back at Bonnie with a smile. "You remember me, right? From Taylor's party?" Her words seemed to come out like a giggle, and tickle at the ear. "Oh, yeah, sorry. I guess you do... I'm Jess, all the same. And you're Bonnie, so..."

"Hey."

She focused her eyes right on the blonde and squatted down, knees together, to get right in front of her. Her smile was friendly, with a hint of mischief. "Do you want to come out with me? Show me what you know about a good time?"

Bonnie huffed in amusement that Jess was just getting warmed up. She then nodded firmly, feeling like it was silly question that she DIDN'T remember the girl who wouldn't stop talking and twerked on little Cassie Elliot. Good times.

She didn't want to show her watery eyes to Jess, so she turned away as the woman squatted down, at least for a moment before she turned back to face Jessica, her warm smile making Bonnie feel as if everything, if even for a moment, was going to be alright.

She was a bottle of positivity. Damn Californians.

"...I don't think you'd like ta work a Ford, hun." Bonnie mused with a small giggle of her own before giving another sniffle.

"...Ugh... This is embarrassin'. Please don't tell nobody ya found me like this. Lu Jiao Jocelyn would have a field day."

"Sure, yeah," Jess nodded with a delicate little laugh. What the hell did she say about Ford?

"Ah, c'mon. Joc isn't so bad! Did you see when I had a match with her?" She stared off with a faint smile while she recalled the fight. "It got pretty... intense. I think I'm still feeling that one! But it was cool. She's really cute. And I almost had her!"

She laughed, and grabbed Bonnie's hands to pull her up. "C'mon, it's way too late for you to be this sober."

Bonnie had seen Jess' bout with Jocelyn. She had seen EVERY match with Jocelyn and with that said, she found Jess very amusing during that fight.

"She ain't gon look cute If I got my hands on 'er... " Bonnie muttered mostly to herself. How anyone could like Jocelyn was beyond her. She wasn't as bad as Allison but she was still a pretty terrible person.

Then Bonnie slumped. She didn't have much room to talk anymore.

She'd be a little usually heavy for Jess to pick up since Bonnie was so downtrodden she might as well have been deadweight, but about half way, Bonnie decided to stand up anyway with Jess' aid. She'd look at the cyan hair colored girl with a dull gaze, hidden behind the messy bangs of her hair that was put up in a ponytail.

"Sure..." She said in a low tone before giving Jessica another look. She was very... Attractive. And... Happy looking. "Yer really upbeat." She said dryly. Must be a Californian thing.

"Girl, you just need to learn about the fine art of having a good time," Jess said with a laugh. "C'mon, first round's on me."

Even while she walked, Jess seemed always on the verge of dancing. She had a spring in her step and her body was loose and her mannerisms easy. She seemed always in motion, slightly more animated than a normal person, and she often wore a smile. She led Bonnie out of the building and to the sidewalk.

"You don't mind walking, do you? Cabs are expensive!" She laughed, and then as they walked she casually said "Tell me something good, Bonnie."
