Reiko Hinamoto vs Riana "Hel" Helstrom

Reiko could sense the anticipation in the crowd and the anticipation within herself made her skin feel a like it was about to get a fine sheen of sweat. She'd been in many competitions like this in her time at Rumble Roses, but it still didn't quell the nerves you feel when you're about to step out in front of everyone for such an event.

She got up from her bench, hopped on the spot for a moment and then head out towards the arena rampway entrance.

"The following contest is Round 1 in the tournament to crown the new Friction title holder!!!!" The announcer called over the microphone.
"It is set for one fall... Introducing first, from Japan..." over the speakers 'Look to the sky' started playing, Reiko Hinamoto entrance music in Rumble Roses and here in AFW...

"Reiko HInamotooooooo!!!"

Reiko stepped out onto the rampway dress in her usual red sport bra, boots, gloves and hot pants.. finished off with an adorable neck band which had two tails tied behind her neck and followed freely. She stood at the top of the ramp, took in a deep breath, swiped her index finger across the bridge of her nose and then started her way down the ramp with a look of determination on her face...

She climbed up onto the apron and then leapt double footed over the top ropes, landing and immediately bouncing on her feet while swing a left-right-left-right combination with her fingerless gloved fists. She felt ready for this..

Hel was nervous herself. She wasn't accustomed to this sort of crowd. This was the largest crowd of any of her matches at AFW... hell, probably of any live event she had been at. To make matters worse, she was up against a legend. THE Reiko Hinamoto. She gulped, stretching her shoulders and shaking her hands in anticipation.

The guitar riffs of Heaven's Creepin' In echoed through the arena as the announcer shouted, "And her opponent, from Los Angeles, California... Rianaaaa.... Helstrom!"

At least he got my name right. She was afraid he might call her Helstorm.

Hel marched down the ramp, determined, only giving the crowd a passing glance, if only because she was so nervous. Dressed in her standard attire, white glove sleeves, the red white and black corset/skirt combo, black bikini bottoms, and white boots. She slid into the ring quietly, leaning back and forth to stretch her muscles.

She felt butterflies in her stomach. Reiko Hinamoto was a legendary women's wrestler. It definitely wasn't every day you got to fight someone from Rumble Roses. Out here on this massive stage, with the stakes so high, she had to make sure not to embarrass herself any number of ways, not the least of which was coming across as a drooling fangirl.

"Ms. Hinamoto?" She finally spoke, "I'm Riana Helstrom. C-call me Hel." She smiled, "I am a HUGE fan of your work."

Reiko watched her opponent enter, she was bigger then Reiko but still seemed a little nervous. When she spoke, Reiko smiled at the respectful and flattering display.

"Thank you.. Hel. I still feel surprised to hear people say that.." She extended her arm for a hand shake with her opponent.

"I'm sure we'll have a great match together.."

Hel smiled. She had seen some of the epic matches the Japanese wrestler had had with Dixie Clements, almost a head taller than Reiko. Hel knew that her size was not a huge advantage as she looked down at Reiko, meeting her handshake firmly. "I have no doubt we will." She smiled.

Reiko nodded and backwards and then backed away to her corner to allow the ref to call for the bell as the crowd cheered for the start of the match.

Reiko circled to her right and in to meet Hel in the centre of the ring, eyes watching Hel carefully as she raised her arms and tried to reach out for her shoulders, looking to lock up with her opponent

Hel smiled as she kept pace with Reiko, moving to lock up in kind. She was nervous, excited, and terrified all at the same time. Reiko had faced pretty much every wrestling style Hel could think of. She knew she wouldn't be able to surprise the veteran. She'd just have to fight stronger, smarter... better.

She moved in, testing her strength against Reiko. Hel knew Reiko wasn't going to try to overpower her size advantage, so she tried to strike first before Reiko could get a move off, attempting to press in and hurl Reiko to the mat.

Reiko grasped her fingerless gloved hands onto Hel's shoulders, ready to try and slip her arm around the back of her head when the girl used her larger size advantage to forcefully hurl Reiko backwards and down to the mat... Much like Dixie could do to her in previous matches...

Reiko hit the mat with a faint grunt, but quickly tried to use the momentum to roll away from Hel and up onto one knee.. Reaching out for the ropes as she looked up and stared at her opponent. The crowd began to clap, Reiko knew now she'd have to be smarter then to open with test of strength...

If Hel doesn't charge her immediately after the hurl, Reiko will carefully climb back to her feet while watching Hel closely... Giving her butt a little rub where she had landed, she'd begin to circle Hel again, this time not moving in on the attack right away but instead waiting to see what Hel would do.

Hel circled the Zero Fighter cautiously, not following up. Seeing her missed opportunity, she cursed herself silently. She's not an immortal, dammit. She's just another fighter. Stop being afraid of her.

Taking a deep breath, Hel charged, aiming a dropkick at Reiko's chest.

This time Reiko was able to read what Hel was about to do a bit better... As she leapt up for the dropkick, Reiko stepped to the side and shove Hel's legs away with her gloved hands to deflect the attack and leave Hel with a hard drop onto the mat...

Hel barely caught herself as she slammed to the mat. She'd taken worse smacks. Worse, she knew she had to keep going or else she might lose her resolve once more. Hel would try to roll over and kick herself up to her feet and try to send a hook to Reiko's face, if she let her get to her feet and get close enough.
